Here's something that I want to share with everyone out there, regardless of age, gender, region, fanboys of a particular OEM or anything.
If you don't like it, you can surely leave a comment or report this. So here I begin :-
1. for the love of GOD, stop pushing out larger phones. Some phones are over 6 inches, my small asian hands need 3 seconds to traverse from its end to end. We all want a sub 4.7 inch phone with good specs. Somewhat like Xperia compact, but practically useable. We need phones, not display units in the Olympic games.
2. Samsung should change its naming strategy. WTF is samsung grand, samsung grand prime, samsung grand max, samsung grand prime max, samsung grand prime max ultra pro, samsung grand prime max ultra pro mini, samsung grand prime max ultra pro mini kitchen sink windshield wiper??
3. Sony should sell off their mobile division also and go back to manufacturing cassette walkmans, (hint: they will be ip58, ip68, ip78, ip88, ip98, ip108, ip118, ip128 certified)
4. HTC is totally lost, they need to put some "SENSE" into themselves not their phones. And why not use Boomsound speakers while they think over at it.
5. LG is like a moon. Their market shares keep on fluctuating like the moon phases. Laser auto-focus my a$$.
6. Windows, well why not put curtains on them. Lame implementation. Denim?? seriously?? Cortana is nice, i admit it, but needs a shutload of bandwidth. She can suck my duck.
7. Xiaomi, heavy UI, very pretty, similarly useless. And how the duck do you pronounce it?? Shia-wait for it-oMi??
8. Apple, well an apple a day keeps the doctor away. After all the amount you pay them, you literally don't have any money to pay the doctor after selling your entire family's kidneys, duh..!! Might as well sell your brains in the process, wait iFans don't have any.
9. Motorola, moto e,g,x were well made. Poor mans nexus. Should stick to manufacturing police walkie talkies.
10. Lenovo, clunky, feels like using windows 95, hell maybe even windows 11th century if there is any such thing.
11. MicroMax, just wait untill i break one of your service center displays and windows and smilingly say "sorry sir, its not covered in warranty, have a good day", then you'll know how we customers feel.
12. Google, Nexus 6, people think why the hell am i holding a portable TV in my hand. Can't wait for your next 1023485479 inch phone which you would say is "surprisingly pocketable", well surprisingly "duck you".
13. Nokia, such nice, much stubborn, too fail. Amaze.
Hope you enjoyed it. I just wanted to share this.

Well that's hurt my brain but it's OK, your opinion...
Although I kinda of agree with you I totally disagree regarding screen sizes. I absolutely hate sub-5 in phones. Yes my Nexus 4 can be an exception but I just hate flimsy and small phones like the Galaxy S Series phones. Maybe its because I am used to 8 to 11 inch screens but its a pain typing in portrait mode with N⁴ and its really comfortable to type on a 7 inch tablet. I am waiting for the day I can get a reasonably priced 6 or 7 inched phone with reasonable specs. So far there's is no good 6 or 7 in phone that has sub $400 price and everything that's below $300 have really crappy specs.

1. No. I will never buy anything below 5.7". Just like most of the 80 million Note users. I'm woman with size 6 hands, and I can use the device with one hand.
Proper market research has indicated that most users prefer larger screens.
2. Where have you been the last 8 months? They're doing exactly that, the system is being replaced by a few lineups with easier names.
You are not the ruler of the world. There are 7.3 billion people in this world. Don't presume you to have the right to decide what everyone else wants.

Because you were pretty hostile and demanding in your first post in this thread. It's all 'must' and 'should' and 'everyone'.
For instance, 'We all want a sub 4.7 inch phone with good specs.'. Clearly, 'we all' do not. The 5.1" S5 sold 10 million units in 25 days. The 5.7" Note 3 and 4 both sold 5 million units in the first two weeks.
You are proclaiming your opinion to be that of everyone, and people tend to react rather violently to being told what to think, particularly when they disagree.
XDA is also notorious for its lousy attitude towards those who post in Off Topic with less than 10 posts. Has to do with the rules.
Perhaps English is not your first language (From the looks of it, it isn't.), in which case you may not have intended it as such. However that is how it comes across to everyone else.

No wonder you did not include OPO because you like it. As for OTA, this is not an issue because you can always flash.

Do you own an OPO? And if you do, have you flashed CM 12 Nightly? I'm waiting for a stable version. But I guess they will provide us with their Oxygen ROM soon.
Moreover, rooting and unlocking the bootloader doesn't void the warranty!

The new batches don't have the yellow anymore. As for the crashes and hangs, you can avoid this by choosing a stable ROM. As for CM, so far so good but I still prefer other ROM though.

I got my OnePlus yesterday, and I have to say that it is a true beast. It doesn't crash, and doesn't have any yellow tint. I get approx. 1.8-2 GB RAM free on heavy usage. It doesn't heat up. And I love CM as always.

Yep. iPhone SE 32GB. Why you may ask? I will explain.
Music is important to me. The Note 8 has a very pleasing sound stage but its not good enough for me so I had the choice of purchasing a dedicated DAP or an external DAC-Amp. I choose the DAC-Amp that being the Oppo HA-2-SE.
When connected to the USB-C connection the Oppo will take command of the music players internals and use the Note 8 as the source only.
PROBLEM. The Oppo doesn't like the USB-C connections? You see the Oppo can not only replace the mobiles amplifier and DAC but also act as a battery back up to the mobile. :good:
Not with the Note 8....When connected the Note 8 charges the bloody Oppo!? :silly: At present there are only unsatisfactory work around's for this and I don't like any of them hence my buying an iPhone to use purely as the source for the Oppo.
I have joined an Apple forum and much to my absolute amazement they have a thread dedicated to the Note 8. Also other android windows mobiles. I could never see that working here. WE can't even agree on the colour of snow never alone the differences between IOS and Android. Could you imagine it?
I now own an Apple device again. Lets see how that goes. I bought it last night and have yet to remove the plastic cover as once I do that I cannot return it for a refund. God that one point alone truly pushes my buttons. I must not set myself off. the sky is blue and the sea is green.

I should send you a gift for guessing. It may well end up the iPhone SE!
I must behave myself! Stop that! (talking to myself).
You on macrumors? That forum is an absolute blast to watch, especially around release time.
I've been tempted to buy an iPhone through the years, because I write apps for iPhones. Haven't done it so far. That and just about every computing device that I own is made by Apple.

What?!? NO! not another Apple device! I really hate Apple's modern flat UI design, that's why i switched to Android, and also back to Windows!!!!!
iOS 6 and Mac OS 10.8 are the last great versions of those OSes, in my opinion. And then Google seems to be slowly going the way of the Apple, both in hardware and software.
I just wish I had the power to develop some kind of unofficial hacks to re-skin Mac OS and/or iOS with the classic skeuomorphic UI design I love, or even very good clones of those OSes as it was from those days, but with some changes.

BTW I have still not opened the iPhone SE box! It just doesn't feel right? Plus a 4" screen after the Note 8! Dare I open that box?
Just an update.
I sold the iPhone SE. Bloomin spectacular mobile, always wanted one because its one of my personal favourites in terms of design, I like the square sides. The quality was, as expected, superb and it ran like a dream. Perhaps the most accomplished 4" screen mobile around at present, certainly one of them.
Looked at the iPhone X. The screen for some reason gave me migraine as it does some others? Bought the iPhone 8 plus and though it could NEVER replace my Note 8 as my daily I do like many aspects of the iPhone 8 plus. I only have it to pair with my portable DAC-Amps and paired with Sennheiser HD650 the sound reproduction for a portable set up is hi-fi nirvana.
Not a fan of IOS, its a learning curve I guess. Phone is superbly made as is my Note 8 so now have the two! Very different mobiles both with their positives and negatives. The one big positive with the Note 8 is its completeness, it just does every thing a mini pocket PC can do and on times even better! Its the 'best' mobile I have ever owned.
BTW the Apple forum guys are gals are a very nice community who are very helpful and welcome newbies like me with open arms.

Will it be a glorified s9 plus, and will it be worth dumping 1100 after taxes on after all the hype and lies. The so called super smartphone s9 plus is ending up as the same troubling device as the note 8 became after false promises began when released.
Hmm, lets see, add stereo speakers AR emojis, and so called better than 5000.00 dslr cameras. Are people that disillusioned, or gullable, or is it an addiction for those without a laptop? NOW being said s10 with larger display than the note 8. Where's the truth in all this. Honestly, after 2 note 7s, s8plus and note 8, there must be a breakeven point.
before we know it, one will need a car note to finance a mobile phone. I LOVE my note 8, and i see easily 2 yrs before obsolescence. They way they speak now, its useless devices trading in after 6 months. Insult to injury, 2 or 300 max trade in value of note 8.

Op, you are really CONFUSED, the vast majority here is happy about their note 8, I really do not care about what will or will not be the note 9, what lies are you talking about? The hype is made by people outside Samsung, anyway, I am very happy with my note 8, I will skip the 9, as for the high prices, good stuff is always expensive, it is useless to complain about prices when there are so many cheaper options available, it is like complaining about why a ferrari or lamborghini car is expensive, if you can not afford something, look for something else, but complaining is plain useless

Don't be surprised by the hype around new devices, that's marketing . Note 9 will be good but I personally won't need to upgrade my note 8 for another year at least. Others may want the latest and greatest which is fine too. Some are also coming from older devices. Companies market, and buyers decide what they like. Yet for some reason there is so much added disdain in your post. False promises? Gullable? Way too many value judgments there. Winol is right. Pointless to lament that part imo.

thank you and no its not worthless to me. its informative and it helps others.
I've stopped buying The S-line for quite a while now ever since the removable battery wasn't in. My last S device was the S5 and that was a great device. I've used the Nexus 6P, Moto Z play, OnePlus 5, PIxel 2 xl, and now the Note 8. In my honest opinion the Note 8 will never be worth it's value. It could've used a bigger battery....
Pretty much to sum it up, Note 8 is a good phone. I cannot dispute that after using all these different brands. It's solid in terms of what a power user can want from a phone. Will it be worth upgrading? It truly depends on what the next Note 9 will have and the preference of the consumer.
In my taste, Samsung could put a bigger battery, more software support, and less bloatware/gimmicks.

thank you for your in depth review and candor on the issue, its very sad that history shows they promised us the ultimate device, only to bring the S series into the fray to claim and assume the s9 plus is the nest device on the planet which we know is a PR move, and shows the s9 line as slow on sales again.
Note 9 as in price tradeoff, I haven't yet seen any viable worthy incentives to see the NR as the future superior device, only to have the S10 to be more advanced. seems sammy keeps tripping over their shoelaces while trying to win the smartphone race. Funnier yet is the iphone next will probably come out with a better camera than samsung. If samy would give us a SUBSTANTIAL incentive to upgrade, it might be worthwhile.
Nothing will be the ”ultimate device” as different folks want/need different things! Also, it is all a bit premature until the Note 9 arrives and we can read the reviews and experiences of an actual phone!
Personally the best phone for me was the Note 2, it was really innovative and I loved it. I'm very happy with my SM-N9500 and have no intention of changing for a good while yet ... even if I could afford to!

Well Samsung will always be king of displays. I don't think anyone can dispute that Samsung devices are beautiful with their curved edges and shiny glass backs. They always think of ways to get people to purchase their new generation of smartphones. It's just how the world is. We see something new we want it, but don't need it.

I don't think anyone can dispute that Samsung devices are beautiful with their curved edges and shiny glass backs. great wording there!
I will probably get a Pixel 3 XL instead of the Note9.
I like the Note8 but I think the new one will be very similar. It's fun to try new things.
I had a Nexus 6P before that I miss sometimes.
As it stands for me today I plan on staying with the Note 8. I jumped back and forth a few times with the Pixel 2 and 2 XL and the Note won the battle. The only thing that I would have liked more is a flat display, other than that the Note is my choice. I read the bible several times a day with it, listen to online sermons and take it to church instead of a paper one and so on. I'm still getting a bit over three days between charges. I can't find a legitimate reason to spend another grand on a phone, to me that's just a waste. As for the Note 9 specs I haven't seen any from Samsung so it's just speculation and wish lists to me. I'm sure it will be nice but I'll get over it and keep enjoying this one.
so far the consensus is to stick and stay note 8.

They way they speak now, its useless devices after 6 months. Insult to injury, 2 or 300 max trade in value of note 8.

Good Afternoon,
I'm new to the forum and looking for some advice/knowledge. I currently have an iPhone 8 Plus and am looking at getting a Note 9. I've always been a big fan of the note phones but never owned one and feel that now is a good time to get one.
I've read and watched a ton of reviews on the Note 9 but have some questions about moving over to Android from IOS. Are most of the apps now more optimized to phones like the Note 9 or do they still look a bit dated? I mainly use apps like Facebook, Twitter, Sky Sports, you tube, Instagram and others. Just wanted to see what the look of these apps is like on the Note 9.
Apologies if there are already posts on questions like this.
Thanks for your help.

IMO most apps on Android look/feel better to me and with better functionality than they do on iOS; it's like they're dumbed down
The only apps I don't use that you've mentioned are FB and Sky; the rest I do and they're very good, very sharp
Personally if you're tied into all Apple (says me who has iMac, MBC, iPad Pro and ATV4s throughout the house); it might be a shock to the system. I personally don't like iPhones etc
However a move to a Note 9 would make you realise how much better flagship Android phones are compared to Apple IMO; the screen being the biggest standout but also the ease that you can completely mould the Note 9 into what you need; how customisable they are and how you can set it up to how you want, both Launchers and home screen, whereas on iPhones, you're locked down to how they want you to have it, unless you jailbreak and even then, it's not as customisable

Welcome to Android, the apps you mentioned will be fine on the Note 9. I handle the phones for my company and we have mainly Android for the field but a few of the guys inside have IOS and the apps look very similar on both operating systems.
Thanks for your responses.
I only have an Apple phone and an iPad so not fully tied in too much. I've dipped into Android back with the Samsung Galaxy S6 and some of the apps didn't seem as sharp as IOS which is probably why i've been reluctant to switch again.
Agree with your points about the Note 9. I went into my local O2 shop today and tried it out the screen is really impressive and is such a step up from my current phone.

All main apps update to fit Infinity display but in general iOS apps has better experiences than Android, smoothness, design and quality. Maybe the differences are not much with some apps
Hello. I switched from the Iphone 8 Plus to Note 9. Here are my thoughts.
1) Apple has no features. It is just a calculator against Note 9
2) Although in benchmark scores Apple's CPU is faster, i noticed no difference.
3) Apps are greatly optimized. Not even a single crush (Been 5 days since i have been using Note 9)

So I will give the 9 a skip as I am happy with my flagship

Strong disagree. There are so many other things the Note9 smokes the iPhone 8+ in (or any iPhone) that it's dizzying.
My brother has an iPhone 8+. My Note8 already feels much more powerful and useful in side-by-side comparisons. So the Note9 is going to widen that gap.

Welcome to the forum.
I own the iPhone 8+ had the note 8 and now own the Note 9 as well as the iPhone 8+.
Both mobiles are quality products the main difference being the OS.
If a comparison was to be made, and its very unwise to do so, I would compare the Galaxy S9+ with the iPhone 8+.
The Note has an advantage over ALL present production smart phones in that it posses the S-pen. Regardless of OS the Note series is even unique among Android smart phones.
It is near impossible to make comparisons between Apple and other brands. Apple make a superb package and though I detest their business model in this country the mobile itself is very accomplished.
The Note 9, well now.....its a pocket PC with a pen as a mouse. Many consumers purchase the Note series and do NOT use the pen. I have never understood that and never will. If one is not going to use the S-pen buy the S9+.
I repeat, trying to compare Apple products with Android is very much a non starter. Add to that mix the Note 9 is unique even among Android mobiles and its impossible to draw a meaningful, valued conclusion.
I need the S-pen so the Note 9 is my daily driver. I can assure you the iPhone 8+ is also a superb smart phone. Not my choice for daily use but that is me.
Try not to compare, you will find yourself trying to pee in the corner of a barrel!

Im a android guy but took a break now using ios for around month. My last phones were gs8+, pixel 2 xl, note 8, gs9 plus, oneplus 6. No ios fanboy here just honest opinion.
I hated the iphone x which iuser for a month. Hates the notch, cant hide it like oneplus. The phone never got bigger since is even smaller than a regular gs9. Heats up when heavy task to the point that for safety reason screen brighness would dim to around 50% until it cools up. I decided to give the 8+ a chance since i really wanted to give ios a chance.
Iphone 8+ for me... old design, ugly, big bezel BUT IT WORKS. Ios itself is smoother than android. Even more so now in beta 12. Animations are fluid with less to non skip frame. Apps are well optimize and mobile site seems to be build more around ios than android.
I didnt like the way android is going with android pie and how they are trying to copy what ios is doing. Android use to be innovation now they are trying to be ios and samsung. i didnt like what i saw with all the new pixel 3 xl leaks and its big notch. Dont like all phone skin and fragmented ui with slow updates.
Note 9 will probably get pie AFTER galaxy S10, (march/april 2019) is the way samsung has always been. Main reason why im now with ios for a while, gets update on day one.

Considering the chip in the iPhone X is a better processor than the one in the Note 9.this comes as no surprise. Ohh and IOS Eco system is better optimized so with the new upcoming A12 chip it will make the gap much wider. So please guys don't get cut as it doesn't change the facts

No one is forcing or trying to convince you to use an iPhone. I also prefer Android and currently using the Pixel 2 XL.
However, to be honest the iPhone is always going to be she's in the race simply because every is made in house. So it is highly optimized so runs much he than Android. All the Apps are better on IOS so cannot beat that.
For instance Fortnite lags on the Note 9 but runs smoothly on iPhone 8, 8+ and iPhone X.

That's fine if you're that picky, but for most normal people, ios apps don't run "much better". Maybe very, very slightly. I've had almost zero lag in a full year with my Note8. Maybe a frame drop one time a month? I'll trade that for all the additional functionality.
No launcher like Nova Prime? No SwiftKey keyboard? No sd card? No stylus? No widgets where I want them? No fast charging? No ability to download a song/video and play it immediately? No way to use anything but iTunes?
Pass. I'll take my ity bity tiny lower performance that most people wouldn't notice. In reviews I've read, no one had lag in Fortnite by the way, so I'm sure it's not prevalent.
"Also videos from tech reviews suggest that the iPhone X has more power than the Note 9."
Yes, from very uniformed or bias sites like BGR. They use the ONLY benchmark which shows the iPhone X has "more power" than the Note9. Literally every other test you could possibly run (especially AnTuTu, which tests the phone's capabilities as a whole and not ONLY the processor) shows that the Note9 destroys the year old iPhone X, as it should.

Umm, you can't compare a mobile os to a corporation. It goes right over apple fanboys heads or they get mad when you compare Android to iOS. They want to compare Apple vs Android and that is an apples to oranges comparison of which you just did.

Great. That's fine. But benchmark tests from an isolated processor do not jive with real-world usage. Even if you love benchmarks, the Note9 destroys the iPhone X in AnTuTu because it is testing memory, GPU, CPU, etc. There is more to a phone's performance than just the processor.
Once you realize that pretty much every flagship phone has an insanely powerful processor, it comes down to what you can actually DO with the power. That's where the Note9 absolutely CRUSHES the iPhone. There is nothing you can do on an iPhone that I cannot do on my Note9, but there are TONS of things I can do on my Note9 (productive things, at that) that you cannot do on an iPhone.
So, once again, the Note9 wins easily. Better hardware, comparable chip, WAY better productivity features.

You obviously either don't have a Note8, or you do some crazy things to your phone. I have had a Note8 since launch and it's SMOOTHER than when I first got it with zero lag. Oreo made it better, and it was damn good to begin with.
You're obviously just trolling though so I'm done discussing it with you. Enjoy your iPhoneX. I wouldn't pay $500 for that thing.
I switched from an iPhone 8 Plus and pretty disappointed. The Note 9 is definitely a nice phone, but there are so many little things that irk me about Android. Maybe the Note 9 is too much phone for me? I will be boxing it up and sending it back to Samsung next week unless someone wants an unlocked model for $950 [emoji23]

So it's that time of year again when a new and honestly beastly lime of Samsung flagships is announced. The Galaxy S20 line looks legitimately promising but is it enought to give up the Note 9 and S pen though? Or are you gonna wait to see what the Note 20/+/Ultra has to offer a few months down the line.
I wanna see everyone's view on these new phones that ol Sammy has announced. I'm personally on the fence. I want the new tech but I just know the Note line will blow it out of the water later this year so it leaves room for a potential bait and switch lol.
What about you all?

I'm intrigued with just about any new midrange to flagship phone that comes out.
However, I usually steer clear of the S lineup for a few reasons.
1) No S-Pen. I rarely use it, but, it's nice to have when you want/need it. The price difference between the top of the line S series & the Note is negligible considering you get the S-Pen & usually some newer hardware/software features.
2) I don't particularly care for the curves on the S series, preferring the boxier look of the Note.
3) The hole punch. Yeah, you can (probably) hide it, just as you can on the Note 10, but, that kinda sux that you sacrifice screen real estate for a cleaner look. The fact that all the marketing pix hide it w/dark gradient wallpapers & having a software option to hide it is an admission that it's an awful stopgap before the hidden FFC's are available.
I'd be lying if I said I'm not tempted to get the S20 Ultra. The 5G speeds alone are definitely appreciable, both the Note 10 & OP7T Pro are definitely snappier with it. However, the eye-watering price of $1400-$1600 USD is a hard pill to swallow.
The only way I'll jump ship is if pre-order trade-in offers on the carriers (T-Mobile US here) is a lot better than the $300 that Samsung is offering. Otherwise, I'm hanging on to the Note 9 until the Note 20 arrives, or longer. Mine is running just as well as it did on opening day & battery health is still around the 95% range, kinda hard to trade it in for the measly $210 that T-Mobile is currently offering. (Not particularly interested in bothering with listing it on Swappa & the like, last time I checked, way too many available for sale,it's a buyer's market)
In the meantime, I scratched my itch for new hardware yesterday.
T-Mobile slashed the price of their Pixel 4 lineup:
Pixel 4XL was $899,sale price as of 2/12/20: $499.
Pixel 4 was $799,now 50% off as of 2/12/20: $399.
Got it (4XL) on T-Mobile's JOD, $0 down & free overnight shipping, ETA 2/14/20.
Will use it as a daily driver for the first week or two, long enough to determine if it's a keeper (for a backup/secondary phone) or, send it back during the buyer's remorse grace period.
Is the S20 worth getting?
I wouldn't fault anyone who doesn't want to wait for the next Note to land, but, I'd definitely stay away from the smallest one, as it doesn't have the MM Wave variety of 5G. Yeah, I know 99% of the US doesn't even have it available, present company included, however, @ $1000, no sale here.

Still loving my note 9. I see no reason to upgrade. Note9 still is peak smartphone for me. Note 10 was a step backwards (I don't like notches or holes in my display, and I like my headphone jack).
Note 11 or 20 or whatever likely isn't an upgrade for me either. Note 9 still goes two days on a charge unless I game on it, still fast as when I bought it, and still takes great photos. I'll wait until some of that changes.
My wife and I might be switching to something a little more stock related later this year. Just tired of bloat, crappy support when it comes to issues, and definitely something a lot cheaper. Maybe if Google does things right, I might just get two Pixel 4a/XL or whatever when they eventually come out? Not sure to be honest. OnePlus is now up there with the big guys in pricing so that might not happen. Don't know, but I do know that I will be keeping my Note 9 as a backup.

Bruh, it's called competition. You have to use some of the likeness of your competition if you're trying to tell their customers, "hey you can do the same thing over here, but a little cheaper." Well, you don't have to, but it sure makes it easier to win. I don't know what to tell you man. Go buy a windows phone? Oh wait those are the same too....

Yeah, the one thing I hate about the pixels is the affordability no longer really being a bumped compared to my Note 9. Putting shiny wrapping on a turd doesn't make it hot sh....you know where I'm going with this.
Luckily for me, my wife doesn't even use the spen, so I just need to make sure I get her a phone that's compatible with xfinity mobile that won't cost an arm and leg. ?

Did you know cars have 4 wheels, and some even have 3? Brakes, windows, and engine, some gas, electric, diesel, and now hydrogen? They even have lights. Whoa. Wait, they should stop cloning each other!!!! I want a car without disc brakes!!! Needs to use polarity transfer for stopping before I buy it....
By the way, at the core of ios and android....same architecture...tsk, stupid clones, they're even using the same screens...

Not liking the price though, it's getting to the point where it's outside my price range, no justification in spending so much on a pocket pc that can be damaged, lost or stolen so easily...
And the note lineup is gonna be so much more expensive than the S20 variants...
Nope, kinda pissed that the plain note 10 is smaller than the 9 the 10+ is the same size as the 9 so you pay more for less? I kind my full rounded screen. The notch hole punch, whatever their doing these days. I like having a whole screen. The biggest thing for me is personalization. You look at iPhone and everyone has the same layout and everything. With Android is free reign. I like being in control of my device more so than the other way around

Exactly!
I may skip yet another year in the Note upgrade game, & this is coming from someone who got the Note FE (still have it).
The Note 10+5G (T-Mobile US) is a beast,warts & all.
However, while the 5G speeds are nice,if you have already fast 4G LTE &/or Wi-Fi most of the time, it's a hard sell when you have a perfectly fine Note 9 & that's why I returned mine during the buyer's remorse period.
If the Note 20 is priced much more than the S20 Ultra, I'll probably sit out another upgrade & will continue to do so until my Note 9 battery takes a nosedive....

I'm actually waiting to see what Samsung does with the new note. I just came from IOS to Android and I've always loved the Note series but I couldn't afford the Note 10 + currently so i got the note 9 for like $350 and it's so damn good. By the time Samsung announces the new note I should be financially stable enough to get it on launch day so I'll be patient and continue to use this beast of a phone.
Ladies and gents the Note 9 is the goat! When the 10 came out with the hole punch I was not loving it but I tried the 10+ before I bought the 9 I was using my note 8 which was great but the battery was poor life otherwise note 8 was great. So the note 10+ I bought was having very poor reception and when I was gaming some of my buttons were near the hole punch and it was effecting game performance so I looked at note 9 specs and seen that it's the last note with headphone jack no hole screen and 4000mah battery! Plus when I had finally decided to upgrade from note 8 the 9 had been out a year and a half so the prices were coming down, I bought not 1 but 2 note 9 from Samsung on ebay for 349.99 brand new! I am fully prepared for this to be the last phone I ever use...
