Yep. iPhone SE 32GB. Why you may ask? I will explain.
Music is important to me. The Note 8 has a very pleasing sound stage but its not good enough for me so I had the choice of purchasing a dedicated DAP or an external DAC-Amp. I choose the DAC-Amp that being the Oppo HA-2-SE.
When connected to the USB-C connection the Oppo will take command of the music players internals and use the Note 8 as the source only.
PROBLEM. The Oppo doesn't like the USB-C connections? You see the Oppo can not only replace the mobiles amplifier and DAC but also act as a battery back up to the mobile. :good:
Not with the Note 8....When connected the Note 8 charges the bloody Oppo!? :silly: At present there are only unsatisfactory work around's for this and I don't like any of them hence my buying an iPhone to use purely as the source for the Oppo.
I have joined an Apple forum and much to my absolute amazement they have a thread dedicated to the Note 8. Also other android windows mobiles. I could never see that working here. WE can't even agree on the colour of snow never alone the differences between IOS and Android. Could you imagine it?
I now own an Apple device again. Lets see how that goes. I bought it last night and have yet to remove the plastic cover as once I do that I cannot return it for a refund. God that one point alone truly pushes my buttons. I must not set myself off. the sky is blue and the sea is green.

I should send you a gift for guessing. It may well end up the iPhone SE!
I must behave myself! Stop that! (talking to myself).

You on macrumors? That forum is an absolute blast to watch, especially around release time.
I've been tempted to buy an iPhone through the years, because I write apps for iPhones. Haven't done it so far. That and just about every computing device that I own is made by Apple.

What?!? NO! not another Apple device! I really hate Apple's modern flat UI design, that's why i switched to Android, and also back to Windows!!!!!
iOS 6 and Mac OS 10.8 are the last great versions of those OSes, in my opinion. And then Google seems to be slowly going the way of the Apple, both in hardware and software.
I just wish I had the power to develop some kind of unofficial hacks to re-skin Mac OS and/or iOS with the classic skeuomorphic UI design I love, or even very good clones of those OSes as it was from those days, but with some changes.

BTW I have still not opened the iPhone SE box! It just doesn't feel right? Plus a 4" screen after the Note 8! Dare I open that box?

Just an update.
I sold the iPhone SE. Bloomin spectacular mobile, always wanted one because its one of my personal favourites in terms of design, I like the square sides. The quality was, as expected, superb and it ran like a dream. Perhaps the most accomplished 4" screen mobile around at present, certainly one of them.
Looked at the iPhone X. The screen for some reason gave me migraine as it does some others? Bought the iPhone 8 plus and though it could NEVER replace my Note 8 as my daily I do like many aspects of the iPhone 8 plus. I only have it to pair with my portable DAC-Amps and paired with Sennheiser HD650 the sound reproduction for a portable set up is hi-fi nirvana.
Not a fan of IOS, its a learning curve I guess. Phone is superbly made as is my Note 8 so now have the two! Very different mobiles both with their positives and negatives. The one big positive with the Note 8 is its completeness, it just does every thing a mini pocket PC can do and on times even better! Its the 'best' mobile I have ever owned.
BTW the Apple forum guys are gals are a very nice community who are very helpful and welcome newbies like me with open arms.

Apple's Ipad and Iphone
These two products are under heavy fire as you probably know.
And that is for a perfectly good reason. They do not work properly.
So my question is: how does Apple pull it off every time, with limited commercials. Just a letter from Jeve Stobs once in a while and some 'magical' lectures about how good these products should be.
They still sell millions of these things!
Why for @$%*sake would you buy anything like this? WHY!?
It just doesn't work and people still buy it!!! WHY!?
WTF!?
Right that had to come out. If you're offended, i'm sorry. If I started a nice thread, i'm happy.

Because despite the flaws people will put up with a lot of crap.
I mean come on the first gen iphones couldnt even send and recieve picture messaging.
Oddly enough I was at an At&t store the other day and facetime refused to work.
Yes i have both of that devices plus htc hd2 with latest android build and a good rom. I really like these there devices but i just dont understand people like you. Well im writing this post from my ipad and thats probably a better internet device than windows 7 installed maintenance pc, yes except flash. I am using iphone because this devices battery, screen and os performances are really impresses me. And yes, iphone and ipads performance are very good and theyre stable, no crash, no bsod, gsod, xsod, no need to formatting frequently... As you can see i am not a fanboy but im just enjoying using these devices. I hope you understand me. You can say anything you want but im not a computer-retarted (at least im a computer engineer) or just moron?!?
I HATE APPLE. <----lets get my view out right now. I hate that they are closed unlike Android that is open source. They are like communist. I hate them for athousand reasons. Those are my views. Dont get offended.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
But I must say that Apple devices such as the iPhone are very stable for the average user. Their customers know that.
The reason why they sell so easily.
The iPhone was the first phone to feature many features that we now consider standard on smart phones today. Well atleast they were the first major company.
Apple then released the Itouch. This destroyed their last product the Ipod which virtually replaced CD players. They were dominate in MP3 devices and very well known with their computers. They still are the leader in MP3 devices.
So in short, their past inventions created their very large fan base they have today. All it takes is a few people telling their friends how much they love their Apple. Then before you know it...the world becomes an Apple.
But when it comes to the advance user/developer. We know that Android is where it is at. I have nothing against windows either.
(the iPad is a piece of crap though)
Their users don't focus on the flaws that Apple haters do, they would rather ***** about what's wrong with Android/WinMo devices. And so it continues...
Spend = parts on marketing and development. Look where it gets you.
A company quickly surpassing microsoft as Big Brother.
I can proudly say I never bought an Apple product. I always found something better for a far better price.
I was given a stolen ipod once but used it a day and gave it back.

What do you define as better? Hardware, OS, performance, etc? I for one do not like Apple products. But I am not ashamed to say that it is a great device. Very stable, fast, user friendly. I do agree about the price part though.
And are you on SDX? I remember seeing your picture from the office and it says your a moment user.
I had other mp3 players that I was perfectly happy with before the ipod went with color screens, I had a RCA kinda wanna be b&w ipod that did the job, then a creative brand one (I dont remember what it was called but it was about $150 and badass) that i stored pics, vids and music on, then I got a sidekick3, and then on i always used my phones for browsing and media. I always felt that the ipods back in the day (and still are) were over-hyped and over price, it was more of a status thing, like Reebok Pumps were in the early 90's, over priced shoes with a gimmick inflatable tongue but I had to have them to sport them in school.
Yea I get my ROMs, kernals and recov's from SDX and chat it up at Samsungmomentforum also. Im waiting to see what the epic has to offer till i upgrade to a 1gz phone. Im still torn between the evo and epic, plus both are not in stock anywhere anyways.

Yeah, Apple is defiantly over hyped and over priced. When it comes to the Evo and Epic it narrows down to brand and keyboard preference. I prefer a hardware keyboard, but can live without. After owning a moment, and having data lockups and a 800mhz that is just slightly faster then the heros 500 and something mhz I dont know if I want another Samsung product. I mean they even make it hard to develop on. I coulda made a sense ROM for almost any HTC device way before I woulda figured out how to even port it to a Samsung. By the way I am Xconstaud from SDX haha. I uselly dont see many SDX users here.

If it was a great device, I would like it. But its not so it isnt. Many other devices are fast and user friendly, and despite the marketing apple devices are not flawless. Stop spouting Jobses marketing crap.
Apples strategy after being bailed out by microsoft was release a 2nd rate basic mp3 player called the ipod and stick their logo on it with some restrictive "easy to use" software called itunes that was still 10 times more complicated than click and draging files. they then told everyone it was pretty and good with an expensive marketing campaign until they bought it. People believed the hype and apple relesed successive generations, more restrictive and invasive software and even bigger advertising campaigns.
They then proceeded to do exactly the same thing for the iphone.
I have an iPod Classic that I like, mostly the batterylife and the fact that it syncs effortlessly with iTunes (I run a hackintosh instalation). Except the sound quality is horrible if you use high end headphones.
I have a jailbroke iPhone 2g, I didn't mind it but I hated the fact I couldn't get mms and the lack of app intergration into iOS. It still sits next to my computer, along with my N81 for no reason at all, except maybe if a new amazing app comes out that I would like a try of.
I don't hate apple, I just don't like all their products.
Oh yea iTunes, the main reason I avoid apple.
Apple delivers one, a single one, device (ipod, ipod touch, iphone, etc) a year while the others have to that by the dozen, just to keep up the sales. That's incredible and that's a fact. Period.
Apple makes the hardware and does the software altogether.
So, how couldn't it be a stable platform? Of course it has to be!
Apple rules the marketing and it knows how to sell it's products.
They did not invent the mp3, they did not invent the touch phones, but they know how to grab an idea and make it big.

Apples popular because they were the underdog fighting against the evil empire of Microsoft. Even though thats over and APPL is now bigger then
Microsoft they have managed to keep their for the little guy image and people aren't figuriing out APPL is a huge corporation with business practices MS never even had the balls to try. Yes they make a nice stable phone, but as was said before is Microsoft or HTC only had to make software for 1 peice of hardware a year you can only imagine how stable it would be. APPL makes software for a a couple of their own tech devices. While MS and Droid now make OS's for thousands of phones. Realize if it weren't for MS or HTC we would all be paying $4000 for iphones.
I take that last sentence back, APPL never gets into a business as the leader or inventor, they let someone else market and develop the product then they swoop in a couple years later and slap a fruit sticker on it.
Remember on the 1st iphone when they invented 2G. Then on the 2nd iphone when they invented the camera on a phone, the on the 3G when they invented 3G. Or on the 3GS when they invented the app. Then in the 4G when they invented the Antenna and wifi video chat. LOL
Well, I might be the only one, but I do like Apple's stuff. And I'll explain why. I own a Macbook Pro and an iPod.
I think Apple has amazing hardware in terms of design. When I first brought my Macbook Pro home, I was incredibly impressed by the unibody aluminum construction of the laptop. It felt like I had spent my money on something that would definitely last. I don't know of any other laptop (or desktop) that has as good as a construction or design as Apple's.
Although I have never owned an iPhone, the same could be said about the new iPhone 4 and iPad. I think a lot of people have biased opinions solely because of the Apple brand. If the new iPhone or iPad had Android (or whatever else) on it and if it did not have an Apple logo on the back, I think everyone would be boasting on how awesome those products are -- which would be the same exaggerated reaction Apple fan boys (and Steve Jobs) have right now and the reason why people seem to hate Apple's products.
However, I'm not an Apple fan boy and Apple does have some serious issues. For example, it's really hard to trust Apple's words some times and determine if what they say is real or just a marketing scheme. Also, the recent attacks towards Nokia, Blackberry, HTC (and others) regarding the antenna is absolutely unnecessary and just goes to show what poor sportsmanship Apple has.
And I am really annoyed with its closed environment on the iOS, such as the rejection of the Google Voice app for the iTunes store whereas there are camera applications that have been approved, even though they duplicate the features that come with the phone.
Then again, I don't hate Apple and I'm able to look past the branding and look at the product itself. I'm just glad that Apple is an American brand.

iPhone6 plus to Note 4

Dunno were to post this but here goes..
This post is targeted at people that are thinking of getting an iPhone 6 plus instead of an Note 4
I consider myself a demanding picky hard core user..
I hate lag.. I notice it straight away.. delay and unresponsiveness drives me crazy.. I've always owned Samsung devices since the Galaxy S 1. and as much as I loved the OMLED's on Galaxy devices.. I always overclocked or modified. I did everything to make the device run as smoothly as possible.. (Like all of us here on XDA )
So far my old Note 2 running a heavily modified rom, ran wonderfully.. When the Note 3 was announced I had to get it.. The first thing I noticed with the phone was the screen throttling.. IT DROVE ME CRAZY! .. well suffice to say with firmware upgrades and tweaking.. that minimized.. lagging and multitasking delays improved immensely with time as firmware matured. I eventually settled with it's lag and delays because I love the flexibility of android & my 5.7inch screen..
That was until the iPhone6+ was announced.. I immediately remembered posts from iSheeple as to how smooth iOS is and how well crafted and great the Apps are..
I was bedazzled at the magical announcement.. and jumped ship as soon as the pre-order was up..
I got the iPhone 6+ on the 19th and bought a case. I quickly upgraded my 2014 Macbook Air to Yosemite (GM) the following week so that I could use call hand off and and all the magical interoperability promised by apple.. I changed all my contacts to iCloud and embraced the apple Eco-system.
anyway.. I'm not going to bash Yosemite because it's in Beta.. but man.. let me just say.. iOS8.0.2 ? what a piece of crap!
Continuous lag, freezing, stuttering, rotation problems. keyboard freezes (sometimes I'll have to wait for 5min to finish inputting a text) .. things like facetime calls ringing out upside down?? .. SCREEN THROTTLING !!!! NNNOOO stuff this.. I can't do this again especially after I've let apple put restrictions on me with stupid iTunes.
there's so much I can go on with like my Macbook not auto connecting to the iPhone hotspot unless I enter the setting menu.. the reachability feature is stupid.. I missed the back button. 1gig of Ram? Can people say Browser refresh?
Don't believe the hype.. iCrap aint the answer.. I'm not a fanboy I just want a usable feature filled phone and I'm willing to pay for it.
I've said enough.. any questions I'll happily accommodate. I'm getting my Note 4 in 4 days.. can't wait..
Now if you excuse me I'm going to make a profit on Selling my iPhone 6+ on eBay to the iSheeple
Hahaha good review of iPhone 6+ and iOS8.
Wecome aboard the Note 4 train, I hope you find it better than the iPhone. I know I can't wait for mine, been visiting the nearby Samsung Store every day to play around with the Note 4 on display lol.
Hey Bro.
Have you noticed any screen throttling? can you push it hard for me and see if it dims please.
I only played around with it for like 5-10 minutes a time, playing with brightness (they set it to Max, not Auto), tried dimming, Auto, tested the S Pen, etc. So far nothing lagged, nothing weird happening on the screen, and it was running Snapdragon.
If you want to have something tested, better head to DelBoy's thread, he's accepting people's tests requests on his Note 4.
Hahhhahaha....
I hated Only two things on iPhone 6+
1. Reachability
(What is this? Nothing in it except lowered screen. If you copies 5.5 inch screen trend, then copy One Handed Mode like samsung as well...sammy is not a sue machine like you )
2. 1 GB RAM (Is it joke!!!...or is it spice, karbon or other chinese brand)
(No mater how well crafted your UI is, but nowadays 2 GB ram is mandatory for 1080p screens)
Compare both things with Note 4
You will say f**** Ass-ple!
I phone 6 and + should be compared with Android One
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
Reachability is a magical feature.. what a joke..
I have an iPhone 6 64GB and I'm really considering getting rid of it, and going back to Android.
As mentioned iOS 8.0.2 is a disaster.
Alot of apps still haven't been updated to the new screen sizes so looked blurry.
My iPhone 6 came out of a box with a full length hairline scratch across the top of screen, that Apple won't change it as it classed as cosmetic even though it came out of the box like this.... they think i did it :/, other's are reporting scratched screens aswell as it very easy to scratch the coating on this, I've never yet scratched a screen on my smartphone.
If you are even considering getting an iPhone 6 please don't bother you only be disappointed.
Even with the scratch i could easily make my £619 back if not more.
So i might go back with the S5 while it cheaper and save some money or buy either the Alpha or the Note 4 after i've seen them.
Are you serious or not? I never use Apple before and I dont plan to. But this is one of few times I heard Apple suck. Maybe I should go to the Apple store to check it out.
aahhh the isheep will pay you well for the phone..

Since iOS 7 they have gone down hill it took till 7.1.2 before everybody was happy with iOS 7, 3 months later we back to square one with iOS 8.
They brought iOS 8.0.1 out that killed both touch ID and reception on the iPhone 6, basically couldn't make a phone call, 8.0.2 fixed that problem but didn't fix the most complained about bugs like slow wifi ect.
I feel it once again take till the end of iOS 8 life before it fully usable where people are happy, then you have to go though it all again with iOS 9.
Once apon a time buying into Apple was a safe buy in both hardware and software, these days they just plagued with problem after problem with both hardware and software, if you ever think life greener on the Apple side then think again.
Android now is the better platform to be on, and I soon think alot of disgruntled Apple fans "not fanboys" will probably be thinking the same now.
One more thing
Before we knew about the specs of the iPhone 6 i said on macrumors forums that both the iphone 6 and 6 Plus will only come with 1GB of ram, the amount of abuse i got from the fanboys saying i'm talking ****, it have 2GB
those same people are now saying well it doesn't need 2GB of ram, and are still defending Apple to the bitter end even after all the problems inc the bending iPhone 6 Plus which some are saying it fake & won't belive it really happening :/
well if you want smooth and fast experience you got to try nexus series,I carry nexus 5 now I love it,I jumped from note 2 to nexus 5 last year and still its fast and smooth as on day 1,though the battery life is average..

I owned the Nexus 5 and I hated the screen and battery life. It was fast and smooth of course without a doubt. The camera was also meh. Not horrible but not great either.
For me, I would rather have the awesome AMOLED that the S5 and Note 4 provide, better battery life and deal with a half second delay here and there.
None Bias review from 2swizzle....
I just sold my note 3 and got the iphone 6 plus.. I did it because I got it for a steal of a deal, Note 3 +200 for iphone 6+ 64gb.. I knew the resale value would be greater of the iphone 6+ and easier to sell. The iphone is a an awesome phone, the build is solid and it super fast with all the bugs it has in 8.0.2. Also the camera is really nice, you wouldn't think 8mp would take great pictures but it does!!!
With that said, I'm going to buy the note 4 on the 17th, and sale the iphone. I've been in the android world since the sprint evo, before then and after I've had every iphone, ipad, and I program on a macbook retina. The iphone restrictions drive me crazy, I hate itunes, I prefer to drag and drop files of any format to my android devices. I have unlimited data and want my hotspot back(without paying $30 extra). Although I know touchwiz will suck balls, and us in the US probably won't get custom roms now that hashcode has retired. As long as I can get root, I will be happy with the note 4.

I agree totally. :highfive: I've had about every high end Android phone over the last couple of years. I sold my G3 and purchased the 6 Plus. It really is a great phone and iOS 8 is fantastic, but I also have the Note 4 on preorder. It was a hard decision, but the 6 Plus was returned tonight. The difference in the screen and multitasking were the death of the 6 Plus for me.
It's also hard to take someone seriously when they're calling people names just because they prefer an OS that isn't they're favorite. IMO they lose all credibility.

The only preconceived notions I had were directed by my experiance with my wife's phone and according to my post. All the wonderfull magical posts on other sites regarding the smoothness and the responsiveness of iOS. So my notions were nothing but positive.
That said. iOS 8.0.2 is absolute trash. And with the time I've spend on IOS forums I'd say that a vast majoraty of iOS users are frustrated at apples lack of testing.
There is nothing great about the phone. Nothing revolutionary. Nothing but playing catch up with Samsung. I've given it more then a fair shake. Considering the limitations imposed by to the hardware and the end user the utter frustration using iOS in its current form is crazy.

It's also hard to take someone seriously when they're calling people names just because they prefer an OS that isn't they're favorite. IMO they lose all credibility.

Who did I call names
Are you telling me that there's no such group of people that exist that may be labeled as brand loyalists?
People that will cling to an system even though its superseded by another feature rich system?
People that can't see other solutions becasue they're one eyed FANS. :cyclops:
people that will happily pay me $200 AU MORE for a phone just because it's an iPhone?
iSheep that's what you call those people..
I'm hoping to test out the Note 4 soon as well. I got to have a run on the Iphone 6 though. It was a friends device so I couldn't spend excessive amount of time on it.
Test day 1: Found it very laggy even though there was hardly anything on it. Spent about 2hours on it all and all and told my friend I'll look into solutions for the buggy behaviour of the phone. Couldn't recommend any solutions, I'm not familiar with iPhones, Android guy myself.
Test day 2: Unfortunately I couldn't test the device on day 2 as my friend, out of frustration and anger, hours before I arrived, tossed the phone to pieces against the wall. He was on headache meds and sounded like a sailor gone to war with all the F bombs he dropped.
I lightened his mood a bit by suggesting that he rather get the Nexus 4 as it has similar features.
Will report back when I get the chance to test the Note 4.
x
Having used the 5S for more than a year, I decided to get the 6 Plus. I found that phone very uncomfortable to hold, unlike the Note series. I will be blunt though, the return factor was mostly the horrible lag throughout the UI. Very un Apple like. I am glad I have not upgraded my 5S to 8. It's THAT bad. I then ordered the 6 as I read it was better. WRONG. The lag is still there. Its awful. So I'm like why did I spend all this $$$ on a device that only gives me a larger screen??? Totally NOT worth the horrible price tag.
So yea thats my experience. I like devices that work. I may hold onto my 5S for a while, I don't know. I'll have to check out the Note 4, but it looks promising.
Oh and yeah its funny how all the iSheep pretend their devices are perfect and run so smoothly. Yeah.

I explain.
In my university the teachers use powerpoints and want that us print the powerpoints, but also can use tablets. So to see the powerpoints and take notes. I think is good. Right ?

The Nexus 9 is cool, but I really don't have any interest in buying one. I'm fine with my LG G Pad 8.3, plus I'm not so sure about the 4:3 screen ratio. Seems weird for an Android device.
The Nexus 6 or S or Shamu or whatever it'll be called, however, will be my next device. Coincidentally, my wage garnishment just ended, so I'll be able to save up for one without having to wait until next tax season.

You should take a look at the Samsung Note series. Yeah, I know, they're not the greatest when it comes to development and custom ROMs and whatnot. But the S Pen works great, and not only can it convert what you scribble into text, they have a "formula" mode that accurately converts your writing into equations and such. Pencil and paper is probably best for working things out, but once you're done, you can transcribe it to the Note and have it all nice and neat.

I know the Note 10.1 2014 Edition has what I'm talking about. I don't know of the Note 8.0, or the Note 3 or Note 4 phones have it or not.
Depending on price! I will be buying the nexus 9 on the release date. Hopefully next week 15th 16th and will be keeping an eye on HTC event today in new York! But I can not see HTC revealing a nexus project. Both devices look great on paper, the nexus 6 looks and sound great I understand there seems to be a large number of people saying its to large. I had a note 3 at 5.7 inches which I thought was to big but I was pleasantly surprised the nexus 6 is a most practically the same size minus the bezels of the note 3. Don't knock it to you have tried it in hand!

A conclusion you'd like to read.

Here's something that I want to share with everyone out there, regardless of age, gender, region, fanboys of a particular OEM or anything.
If you don't like it, you can surely leave a comment or report this. So here I begin :-
1. for the love of GOD, stop pushing out larger phones. Some phones are over 6 inches, my small asian hands need 3 seconds to traverse from its end to end. We all want a sub 4.7 inch phone with good specs. Somewhat like Xperia compact, but practically useable. We need phones, not display units in the Olympic games.
2. Samsung should change its naming strategy. WTF is samsung grand, samsung grand prime, samsung grand max, samsung grand prime max, samsung grand prime max ultra pro, samsung grand prime max ultra pro mini, samsung grand prime max ultra pro mini kitchen sink windshield wiper??
3. Sony should sell off their mobile division also and go back to manufacturing cassette walkmans, (hint: they will be ip58, ip68, ip78, ip88, ip98, ip108, ip118, ip128 certified)
4. HTC is totally lost, they need to put some "SENSE" into themselves not their phones. And why not use Boomsound speakers while they think over at it.
5. LG is like a moon. Their market shares keep on fluctuating like the moon phases. Laser auto-focus my a$$.
6. Windows, well why not put curtains on them. Lame implementation. Denim?? seriously?? Cortana is nice, i admit it, but needs a shutload of bandwidth. She can suck my duck.
7. Xiaomi, heavy UI, very pretty, similarly useless. And how the duck do you pronounce it?? Shia-wait for it-oMi??
8. Apple, well an apple a day keeps the doctor away. After all the amount you pay them, you literally don't have any money to pay the doctor after selling your entire family's kidneys, duh..!! Might as well sell your brains in the process, wait iFans don't have any.
9. Motorola, moto e,g,x were well made. Poor mans nexus. Should stick to manufacturing police walkie talkies.
10. Lenovo, clunky, feels like using windows 95, hell maybe even windows 11th century if there is any such thing.
11. MicroMax, just wait untill i break one of your service center displays and windows and smilingly say "sorry sir, its not covered in warranty, have a good day", then you'll know how we customers feel.
12. Google, Nexus 6, people think why the hell am i holding a portable TV in my hand. Can't wait for your next 1023485479 inch phone which you would say is "surprisingly pocketable", well surprisingly "duck you".
13. Nokia, such nice, much stubborn, too fail. Amaze.

Well that's hurt my brain but it's OK, your opinion...
Although I kinda of agree with you I totally disagree regarding screen sizes. I absolutely hate sub-5 in phones. Yes my Nexus 4 can be an exception but I just hate flimsy and small phones like the Galaxy S Series phones. Maybe its because I am used to 8 to 11 inch screens but its a pain typing in portrait mode with N⁴ and its really comfortable to type on a 7 inch tablet. I am waiting for the day I can get a reasonably priced 6 or 7 inched phone with reasonable specs. So far there's is no good 6 or 7 in phone that has sub $400 price and everything that's below $300 have really crappy specs.

1. No. I will never buy anything below 5.7". Just like most of the 80 million Note users. I'm woman with size 6 hands, and I can use the device with one hand.
Proper market research has indicated that most users prefer larger screens.
2. Where have you been the last 8 months? They're doing exactly that, the system is being replaced by a few lineups with easier names.

Because you were pretty hostile and demanding in your first post in this thread. It's all 'must' and 'should' and 'everyone'.
For instance, 'We all want a sub 4.7 inch phone with good specs.'. Clearly, 'we all' do not. The 5.1" S5 sold 10 million units in 25 days. The 5.7" Note 3 and 4 both sold 5 million units in the first two weeks.
You are proclaiming your opinion to be that of everyone, and people tend to react rather violently to being told what to think, particularly when they disagree.
XDA is also notorious for its lousy attitude towards those who post in Off Topic with less than 10 posts. Has to do with the rules.
Perhaps English is not your first language (From the looks of it, it isn't.), in which case you may not have intended it as such. However that is how it comes across to everyone else.

The new batches don't have the yellow anymore. As for the crashes and hangs, you can avoid this by choosing a stable ROM. As for CM, so far so good but I still prefer other ROM though.

I really like my N8, but you are comparing apples to oranges in some cases.
Stuff you did not include:
Fixed Memory vs Expandable memory
1,000,000:1 contrast ratio vs infinity
LTE Advanced vs Gigabit LTE
3gb Ram vs 6gb ram
OLED vs AMOLED
Wireless Charging vs Fast Wireless Charging
Apple pay vs Samsung Pay (legacy devices)
The iPhone holds it's value though . So if you buy the iPhone today you can still make back some money on it.
And the number one reason Android operating system!!

Only after you have a spent a bloomin fortune buying all the fruity brand extras that we take for granted like a fast charging wall plug adaptor! Apple charge for every single thing you need to make the Apple experience all it is claimed to be. Headphone adaptor...Don't get me started.
As for the 'new' iPhone 8......STILL using years old 720p screens. :crying:
Main point is the directors laugh all the way to the bank. Wished I could have trained a group a punters the way Apple have trained there's. My goodness Apple has a highly loyal fan base. Rather incredible when you actually think about it! :silly:

It "holds" its value because the Apple community of people thinks that it should hold its value. It's the same reason American cars are sort after over seas but here in the US the opposite occurs.
Apples to oranges really. If everyone decided and accepted the consensus that the Note 8 should have a used resale value of $500, it will sell for $500 hands down. Same thing the apple communities are doing. Or as I like to put it, stupid people.
Had a guy try to offer me a trade of an iPhone 7 for my Note 8 last week when I first got it. I've never felt so offended when it comes to cellphones in my life.

I too love my note 8.
But updates and support are better on the iPhone.
Also may be more secure.
Holds value better.
Some apps run better on iPhone.
Easy to get glass
screen protectors
Have iChat.
Not too much bloatware.
Just saying.... These are what iPhone users say.
iMessage is one of the things I wish I had because my kid and her mom's side of the family all use iPhones and they're being jerks about using WhatsApp.

Do Apple make a dual SIM mobile?
Do Apple make a mobile with expandable SD card?
Do apple make a mobile with a headphone jack?
Do apple make a mobile with the choice of 128GB RAM? 64GB or 256GB, why is that?
Why does the Note 8 (OPPS, I meant the iPhone 8) have a screen with 720p in 2017?
Why does an Apple customer have to pay extra for the fast charge power brick and headphone adaptor etc?
Why are Apple customers so satisfied with the new (oh so old) Apple iPhone's? I genuinely don't understand it.
It appears Apple could sell a 'Richard the third' if it was Apple branded.

Why are Apple customers so satisfied with the new (oh so old) Apple iPhone's? I genuinely don't understand it.
It appears Apple could sell a 'Richard the third' if it was Apple branded.

Which phone offers 128GB of RAM? You should take your Note 8 back if your screen is 720P....

Playing devil's advocate also, makes it more fun... Here's mine. With iPhone everything just works well and not fragmented.
Comparing each devices "numbers" PPI, RAM etc is slightly pointless also.

What do you mean by Just Works Well? For the longest time, nobody has explained to me what that is. (not trolling). Also, fragmentation? How does that affect the user experience? --- Both legit questions. :good:

There are two main areas I respect the fruity brand. Quality product and the way IOS is ran as part of a complete package. They are designed that way from day one. The IOS is also the fruity brands biggest flaw? When I owned my iPhone 6s I couldn't even rearrange the icon how I wanted them. Apple make things the way THEY insist you use them. That is also their strong point. Sort of a Zen riddle!!!
On Android we get so many variations and customisations and that is great BUT its also Androids biggest downfall as we 'pay' with a tad lass smooth running System.
After owning every type of Apple device from iPod to iMac and all in between I will no longer purchase that brand until they make several major changes. They do enjoy a very loyal fan base and if one has never owned Android-Windows etc I can at least understand part of that addiction. I think. I mean Apple have always taken great care even with their boxing unlike Samsung who sold me the Note 3 and 4 in a brown box that looked like it contained fish food! Samsung have grown an awful lot in the past 4 years. I hope they continue to do so. :good:

Ok guys, we've gone full circle with this thread. I want to thank everyone that participated. It sure helps to know the truth about the iPhone X, since the media and Apple's marketing monster makes many think that the X is the best phone when it's not.
I wanted to close with an article from BGR that dropped my mouth wide open. Link below:
iPhone X vs Galaxy Note 8 LTE speed test: It’s not even close – BGR
https://www.google.com/amp/bgr.com/...note-8-lte-speed-test-its-not-even-close/amp/
Someone did a LTE test on both the note 8 and the X. The results were flabbergasting. Note 8's LTE speed is twice as fast of the X. Yep, that's right. Apple didn't bother to add the LTE hardware to make it run fast. It is worse than the poor turtle running against the hair.
So there you have it. Tell your friends and everyone who will listen. The X is a farse.

It' actually a lot simpler than that. The iPhone holds value because Apple doesn't allow providers to offer discounts on the iPhone. That constitutes a breach of contract that could result in pulling all apple products out of the company.

I think the discussion has grown in depth from what started as ego stroking to make people feel good about a purchase to a truly objective discussion about the mobile landscape.
We can list specs all we want but ultimately higher specs dont always translate to a better user experience.
"since the media and Apple's marketing monster makes many think that the X is the best phone when it's not"
Oh please, tell me what ad campaign has ever marketed a phone as just okay or not the best but decent? The point is to push your product so if that is a gig then Samsung is guilty of the very same thing.
We are literally in a place where most people have purchased and enjoy their device. Why do we need these low effort posts to feel good about our purchase. Its like some kind of "little phone" syndrome.
I didnt buy the Note over apple because of the specs. I did it because every app, movie, book, and etc I have purchased over the last 9 years hs been in the android ecosystem, I purchased the note because I wanted the spen, I got the note because its android and I need to be able to install apps from unknown sources.. The point here is the apple device could be the best on a spec sheet but it doesn't mean its the best phone for ME.

Isnt the t-mobile buy one get one free program a discount? I mean frankly the discounts are taken at a lost to the carrier (if talking about carriers) because they have already purchased the device. Carries have been subsidizing the costs of the phone forever because a subscriber makes more money than simply buying a phone. So I dont understand your statement. Do you have a source?
I mean the basic economics of it come out to supply, when compared to how many android devices are on the market to how many apple, its night and day so a low supply, coupled with a high demand. People want apple products, plain and simple.
