Some movement in power button - Nokia 8 Questions & Answers

I just got my Nokia 8 and there is some slight play in the power button. As in there is a millimetre or two movement to the front and rear and if you push lightly against it it will move and make a noise. The volume buttons however are completely solid.
Would it be best to get my device exchanged? I don't know if the problem will get any worse over time, it doesn't affect my usage it's just annoying.

There's a little play in my volume rocker but not as much as in the power switch. I'd say it's a design "feature"

Did it get worst over time ?
I've got the same issue here.

Same issue here. Does this get worse after a while? Or is this normal behavior?
Thanks!

Just to update this since I didn't realise people replied
I did get my phone exchanged, this new one which I of course have had for over a year now does have some slight play as well, not as bad as the old one.
But I would say it hasn't gotten worse over time, a little play is normal.
Although I do pretty much exclusively use a case with button covers.

[Q] Wobbly volume rocker?

Hello,
I've recently bought this phone and I really like it.
The first thing I noticed when I played with the phone was that the volume rocker slightly wobbles up and down. It doesn't make a rattling noise when I shake the phone. Just a very small movement. I can feel it moving up or down when I press it.
I might be nitpicking, but I'm afraid that it might break of after a while.
Should I be worried?
Thank you
Nothing to worry about, I guess this is normal as mine is the same too.

[Q] Sound Muffled Unless on Speakerphone/Bluetooth

I have seen a few threads with similar issues, but no "resolution"
I have a T-Mo HTC ONE on official 4.3
Lately I have been having a slew of complaints about being muffled/ can't understand me
I have also noticed google now be hopelessly incorrect and not hearing certain words etc
Called my self through VOIP with headphones on to do investigating
With normal calls I am VERY muffled, I can make it significantly better talking directly into the bottom mic with my finger over the back mic
Even then I sound like I have cotton in my mouth
Turn on speakerphone, instantly 1000 times better, bluetooth as well.
I have read several complaints of similar issues, some pointing to the over active noise canceling
But this is just unusable at this point
I am not 100% when it happened but It was most certainly not always like that.
Some people will say after a seconds on the call it gets better but not always.
Any ideas? I am really pulling my hair out at this point
Already factory reset.
Edit:
I would like to add I am left handed and hold my phone as such,
after doing some more testing I found holding the phone right handed makes
a notable improvement SOMETIMES, it seems the positioning of the mics is very bad for left handed holds
either way though the issue is very annoying.
I found when holding right handed being silent for a few seconds and then talking i would come through clear at first
almost like it was able to make the correct sound profile.
Guess everyone gave up on this?

awful home button quality

My home button is not symmetrical placed.
So the bounce sound after click is loud, and left portion of the button is not that responsive.
I brutally moved it a little bit by hand, and it really helps response problem.
And I avoid the loud click sound by pressing the right or the left part of the home button.
After seeing this disassembly video, I realize that how 'flexible' the button is. Not sure if that's possible to adjust it more without disassembling it.

Anyway, I think Tab S's home button is worse than s5. (they all got fingerprint reader),
and I miss the sturdiness of S2, or S3. Even the recent low end products have more steady button (though stiff).

I don't have this issue. Sounds defective to me.
Why don't you send it back to Samsung or Retailer?
I noticed similar issues on one of my units. It went better over time, but had me worried at the beginning.
I agree that the build quality of this button is not the best, though at the end of the day it seems to be doing the job decently.

thanks for your support. I went to stores to compare many models including S5, note3, tabpro seires, and many mid-range models. Hope mine will get better, too.

vibration doesn't work after tearing down phone

I just ended up replacing my nexus 6 battery since it was on its way out (not holding a charge for very long). I followed this guide: https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Nexus+6+Battery+Replacement/35878
After tearing down the phone the only real issue I ran into was on step 5 where you're supposed to "unplug the battery connector", mine ripped and didn't come off. But seeing as that was solely for the wireless charging feature I shrugged it off and continued on.
I installed the new battery and it's working just fine but I noticed now my vibration doesn't work, well it does but maybe at 2% capacity. I can BARELY hear a slight buzz when pressing the home button. And I mean a SLIGHT buzz, I can't even feel it vibrate and I have to stick my ear to the speaker to even hear it.
Is there a ribbon I might have disconnected when putting the phone back together? Does anyone know where the vibration motor is or have any ideas?
The vibration motor is mounted directly on the motherboard. The only thing I can think of is maybe the side button assembly has some influence (step 7 here). I doubt it, particularly if the power and volume buttons work as expected after reassembly.
So I tore apart the phone again last night and took a look at the motherboard, I didn't really see anything that stood out to me in regards to the vibration motor and any connections for it. I saw the vibration motor but it looked fine. So I closed up the phone and hooted up and my vibration worked! But I was stupid and forgot to add this rubber piece over a connector. I once again took apart the phone, put on the connector, tightened it back up and my vibration doesn't work again...
I'm wondering if something is getting pinched..
Maybe the battery is not shaped to match the curve of the phone. Often people have to mold it a bit so it's not pushing things apart.

I started having the speaker pop issue start recently. It's any time after something uses the speakers. Like you can hear the amp shutting off. I've had the phone since Monday and mostly keep it on mute so maybe I just haven't noticed it before. But this weekend I've been playing more with the ringtones, notification, etc. It's kind of irritating now.

I too have the crackling sound when pressing on the lower third of the back of the phone. Not sure what about the sound 5 seconds after typing but I have noticed that some times the sound is quiet from time to time seems random to me. I also have an issue where after the phone has been quiet for a while the tap sound from a navigation button is way over driven and very loud. That to seems to happen randomly.

After watching the tear down video what I believe your hearing is the glass back making contact with the plastic that covers the wireless charging part and then separating from it when you relieve the pressure. I'm betting the rubbery plastic covering the wireless charging pad is slightly tacky.
I'm experiencing this since you asked, probably wouldn't be if you didn't lol
Also have popping noise since the Razer update randomly and when I use the touchpad, it's annoying, I think the problem is software, and hopefully will get fixed soon, as for the enjoy l empty water bottle sure when squeezing the lower third of the phone, I think it's an adhesive thing like notasaurus says

I doubt its the wireless charging part. Even when pressing down where the logo is, I still hear the crackling sound.
I also have the same issues
Just wanted to add a vote to the crinkling when squeezing the phone and the speakers popping. No other issues with the phone so far. (For me personally, the crinkling when squeezing the phone isn't an issue.)
I'm not sure if this helps (I don't own the device) but I remember reading somewhere another user faced the same speaker sound popping issue, and what they did was go to Settings > Sound and turned off. . . one of the "Other Sounds" sounds. I can't recall which one but try turning off all - Dial pad tones, screen locking sounds, charging sounds, touch sounds and touch vibration(?) ... see if that helps? One of them was supposed to fix it.
Again, I don't own the device, I just remember reading this somewhere, some other user faced this issue.
Lockbutton doesn't feel right
I have a weird feeling with the lock button, it's not feeling like a button. Could it be that it's stuck inside? Just unboxed it... Can't really press it - only tap it. I have the Razer Phone V1 which has a defined click, but the V2 feels more like those home buttons from iPhones with the taptic engine instead of a real button but without a tap feeling. Is that normal? Otherwise I will make a refund on Amazon and get a cheaper one from the Razer store...

From your description, it sounds like you received a defective phone or something.
Haven't used the Razer V1 phone, but have used 2 different Razer Phone 2s and both have physical clicks. In addition to the feel, there's an audible click also (coming from the button itself--not artificial). I will say that because the button sits flush with the phone, it feels "different" than other phones I've had because tbe frame of the phone protects the button. But it should physically depress.
Regarding the clicking speaker sounds you have been describing, your feedback is welcome! Please join and contribute to the XDA thread Snap sound coming from speakers.

Ok, talked to the support yesterday and they say that it's a defect. And that they will send me a new one.
Oh man, Razer definitely has to improve their quality check procedures. I have now my 3rd Razer Phone V1 (one with defect speakers and one with a digitizer malfunction) and now my 2nd Razer Phone V2 after that problem with the lock button.
Never had problems like that with my Nexus 5X or my Moto G... And those were a lot cheaper.
