Need help
Hello, i'm newbie here, trying to learn some stuff, i searched the forum but i couldn't find it, i think this page is most appropriate to post it here.
Well i want to flash a custom rom, but my first attempt went not good for me. I've lost my imei and panicked, anyway by flashing stock sony rom i recovered it.
Now i unlocked my bootloader again (it was locked again after i flashed my stock firmware back), rooted my phone, and learned that nandroid app can make a full backup, and even i screw things up (except hard bricking i guess), that backup will save me. So i downloaded it made a full back up, but it says "back up type: clockwork or TWRP,"
And i heard that TWRP is not for Xperia Z1. Thats why i decided to not install it,
Then i installed clockwork rom manager, it said "this app requires clocwork recovery", but i couldnt find a appropriate version of clockwork recovery, the ones i found on play store were for android 4.0.4, and mine is 4.4.4
You guys probably understand that i know almost nothing about this stuff, (i have only got what i read form forums), so what should i do, which version of clockwork should i install or is there any other supported apps that i can use my nandroid backup?
Soka, i checked your link but couldnt be sure about which link should i click.
And another question, do i still need titanium backup while i have nandroid?
Thanks in advance
My device is C6903
4.4.4
14.4.A.0.157
CWM Recovery
There two methods:
1. Unlock your bootloader and flash a custom kernel (Bootloader Unlock is required for flashing custom roms which are not stock based; for example cyanogenmod)
-> with a custom kernel you have cwm and often twrp also.
2. check this out: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z1/development/newroot-z1-t2807092
maybe you have to flash .108 kernel to use newroot, after rooting you can flash the actually kernel from your firmware....

Hi there bro...
In the Link ...
Check this out ...
http://prntscr.com/4ow7hp ... download the one the red arrow is pointing at. Unzip and run BAT file. When Prompted onscreen connect device to PC.
This will install recoveries and an app called NDR Utils. With this app you can choose the primary recovery of your choice.
I prefer using Philz...(CWM) based. Important rule i've always followed make backups ( Nandroid).
Hello,
First want say sorry for my bad english .
So, i have a Huawei Ascend P7-L10. I have root it and a stock rom named Se7en V1.6. Now i send my phone to the local provider of me, and they have brick it . Now i have fixed it. (First there stand something like "Unfortunaly your boot has failed"). That is fixes, But i tried a lot of roms, and only the Se7en V1.4, V1.5, V1.6 work. If i try another rom its in a bootloop. Even when i wipe cache, dalvik cache, and all that other stuff like a hard reset. But the problem is, most apps won't work. If i start them there stand : "[app] has stopped.", my cam also wont work. Does someone know how to fix it? Or does someone have a stock rom, that will work?

You have a custom ROM not stock ROM. If you want to have a stock ROM first you have to change from custom recovery to stock recovery and then flash a stock ROM. Search the P7 General thread for how to flash a stock recovery.
Cheers

Hey,
I need your help with going back from RROS to stock EMUI.
Im trying this since a couple of hours now but I dont get it.
So I started flashing RROS with the new TRWP everything worked fine but the battery drain was to big so I decided to restore to the nandroid backup I did before flashing the custom rom.
But there was the point I did anything wrong so... My device just bootloop now and I dont know what to do.
I tried the dload option to rollback to stock for so many times and in the end I got a bootloop again so can anybody help me with this sh*ty smartphone?
Id be so glad if anyone could please help me, Im so desperate :/
Why you didn't ask first for instructions in the RROS thread - supposidely the RROS authors and users should know how to go back (they are subscribed to and they read their thread)
I'm not sure if DLOAD method works from RROS.
If you still have TWRP, you can try

or

First method, HWOTA, does not recover OEM Info - you should have never flashed Nandroid backups from another users.
I would suggest to go anyhow back to stock Android N, then to do rollback to MM and back, by OTAs to Android N (stock ROMs)
Btw, what was your orginal stock ROM, EVA-L09 c432 b384 or what (L19, etc)?

I got a L09, I dont know my stock and the ROM I moved over to RROS too.
However, Im going back to RROS with the nandroid backup I did before all this **** and then Im trying HWOTA.
Rollback doesnt work, I tried it with the stock and nocheck recovery, two times package errors.
Edit: restoring nandroid backup of RROS failed, with extractTarFork() error 255.
Im starting now with the HWOTA method after flashing the rom again without backup.

HWOTA method requires that you use ZIP corresponding to your original stock ROM you had.
This is because HWOTA actually uses no-check Recovery to force DLOAD to the chosen stock ROM, but DLOAD does not recover/reflash all partititions, they must be original/in sync. If not, DLOAD (as part of HWOTA) will probably fail.
You should at least know what was your original cust for L09, was it c432, c185 or c636 - to choose the corresponding HWOTA ZIP.

First of all thank you!
So... like I understood your post there ist no way for me any more to use DLOAD or HWOTA because I dont have any part of my stock ROM on my phone. Well, that doesnt sounds so good.
But what can I do then? How can I go to stock when I dont can use DLOAD or stuff like this??
Try with HWOTA and then try with rollback, maybe it will work
And/or try the second method from above (that one I never used).
Actually, that second method also utilzes rollback, to clean/restore all partitions.
Hence, it is important that you reach a point (having, even not fully functional, stock Android N) to execute rollback
Dear XDA community,
Currently I have a Huawei P9 with Magic Rainbow 3 ROM installed. I am really unhappy with it since my phone has slowed down and my battery is draining too fast (20% or more in 1 hour while just listening to Spotify).
I relise that I will lose root and all my files, but I wish to revert back to fresh official Huawei version of Android as if it came out of the box.
My problem is that I tried to do that a while back (and when I failed I had to download the Magic Rainbow 3 ROM) but every time I installed the official version, my phone would be missing all the Huawei apps, the camera app and bluetooth wouldn't turn on and just felt like a crippled version of Android.
If anyone would be willing to guide me through the process of reverting I would be really grateful.

There are clean and easy instructiobs (and in the Magic Rainbow thread itself!) how to properly flash back to stock ROM
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75787156&postcount=3
However, your problem should not be in the Magic Rainbow (an excellent ROM, saving the battery) but in the latest Google Play Services update, see in this thread (not just this post but alao tge earlier ones)
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=76549662&postcount=33
Besides, there is a newer MR v4 - see the thread behind the first link. Installation instructions are in its post #1

Thank you for your reply. I'm puzzled as to which firmware I should use. I can only see I'm EVA-L09 and on MagicRainbow. I also don't remember on which firmware I was before going to a custom ROM. Is there any help for me?
I'm very sorry for bothering, but I'm a noob and shouldn't have messed with the phone.

Yes, you need to know which stock ROM cust and build you had before, to flash the same by HWOTA.
I think I saw instructions about a hidden file you can read it from, you need root to access the file (MR is prerooted), but I don't remember where it was - you can ask in MR thread
Btw, you can also upgrade from MR v3 to v4

I guess my best bet would be upgrading to MRv4 and hope it changed enough so my battery and performance get better (maybe a factory reset will also help). Also, I've tried searching for MRv4 on XDA forums, but can't seem to find the thread. Could you please link me to the site with instructions for upgrading to MRv4?

One last question. I just want to inform You that I have succesfully reverted back to official firmware. But it now says I have an update b399 and when I download it and try to install it I get the error: "Software install failed. Failed to apply the differential update file. Please download a package in erecovery mode." But even when I try to download in eRecovery I get the error that it can't download the package.

You can again use HWOTA and upgrade to b399 and after that even to b502
Of course, for HWOTA you will have to install TWRP again (and unlock Bootloader if it was locked now)
---
You have 'reverted' to b394 but that probably wasn't the proper build you had before installing MR v3....
You can do Settings, Advabced Settings, Backup and Reset, Factory reset with internal memory (it can be also Factory reset with Internal memory from eRecovery).
Then, when you receive notification for OTA b399, find in that OTA updating screen (I don't know now how exactly it looks because Iam on MR v4 but I was doing that previously) the option to download and OTA upgrade with Full package, not with default Differential package
