Hi guys,
Got some questions about Note8:
1- How to disable the galaxy's white dots on the AOD screen?
2- How to change brightness of the AOD screen?
3- How to put a shortcut to a feature in System Settings (e.g On/Off Bluetooth) on the AOD screen?
4- How to change the date format (i.e 24/12/2017 instead of 12/24/2017) without changing the region/language?
Thanks.

Anyone, plz
None of those things are possible with a stock phone
I think the date can be changed.

I just thanked you for no reason. Tapatalk app is rubbish.
Back to your question, are you referring to only the AOD time and date or elsewhere? Where do you see the date format in the universal ( except USA) way of DD/MM/YYYY ?
It would appear the note 8 doesn't really show the date in that Gregorian format anymore.

On my Note 3, it can be changed the date format, i.e I can select the format 24/12/2017 instead of 12/24/2017.
That will affect the system wide settings, not only the AOD.

I don't see anywhere in the note 8 where it shows the date in either DD/mm/yy or mm/DD/yy . I always use the DD/mm/yy also.

On somewhere else.
It depends on the way how every app displays the date.
For example, in the weather widget on my homescreen, it shows "Last update on xx:yy 10/16" while I want it to display as "Last update on xx:yy 16/10".

Settings, Display, Brightness
UN tick Adapt to lighting conditions.
Is that what you wanted?
There was another setting before the 257 update that let you uncheck an option that said something like 'automatic change screen condition to save battery"
I'll just have to reflash the old version to do a screen shot for you guys.

I've posted similar question earlier, but no answer so far. It was called "Optimised backlight" and it was positioned right below "Pulse notification light". It is basically DLS (Dynamic Luminance Scaling) and it is the most annoying power-saving feature in the known universe and I absolutely hate it. It should be a way to disable it with root explorer, but I can't find it in the folder where it was on my Xperia T.

I think I read somewhere that Sony removed it due to it bugging out with some apps.
They should remove it then, not leave us without possibility to turn this crap off.

Yeah. I would think if it doesn't work when on, then they should have disable it and left it off by default.
All other Android phone worked without trying to change this crap.
I love this phone but it's annoying me a lot when reading text that has dark background and graphics.

Just noticed when I try to use effects like Vignette, stardust etc in the gallery app that there is no adjustment bar for the effects intensity. I'm sure in previous models they were present.
Just wondering , did I overlook something?

Where did the (shortcuts) apps edge panel go? I have only 5 panels (tools, reminder, weather)...but no apps panel. I wanted to put some of the apps in there for fast access...but since Pie ...i can't.find them anymore!

It's still there for me. Running N960USQU1CSAA, clean install. I don't think they would've removed from the N960F builds.
Make sure your Galaxy Apps are updated.
Not for me... only these 4 and 2 more. Furthermore, i saw some tutorial on YouTube...where a dude had an extra button down next to the settings button... Which when pressed another panel came from button and it had 4 shortcuts....i dont have that button eitherView attachment 4709929

Not sure what to tell you. Maybe look in the Galaxy Store?
I can see my note 9 has that extra button and it has apps edge too where shortcuts are. I'm using android pie on mine with OneUI. Also mine is Exynos Europe version
The hand icon doesn't appear on websites while browsing and doesn't trigger drop down menu !! It works fine on my Note 8 running Pie but not Note 9
If anyone can let me know if it works with them before i factory reset it would be highly appreciated
Update:
Here is a video showing what I mean. Kindly note that all this happen without touching the screen only hovering the S-Pen. This doesn't happen on my Note 9! All I can do is scroll while hovering and no buttons will be triggered.

Can I have a screenshot on your Note8 to better understand what you want to achieve?

Although the video is unavailable, I now understand that you've a problem with S-Pen.
Is Air View turned on in S-Pen settings?
