How to fix wifi problem - Xiaomi Mi 5 Questions & Answers

My mi 5 connects with the wifi router but after sometimes my phone does not recieve any data . Router is working fine .I connected other phones with the same router ,they are working fine .
So, how can I fix this issue?

What ROM are you using? Have you tried to check the WLAN settings in your phone, maybe there is something there that is set incorrectly. like the usage data or the frequency for the wi-fi.
The last resort would be a factory reset.

wifi sleep policy not work correctly?

My wifi seems to disconnect from my wifi when the screen turns off, despite me having changed my settings to never sleep. When I look at the wifi settings it says "Unsuccessful Connection". I didn't have this problem with my MT3G.
Anyone having similiar issues or a fix?
wifi Reconnection issues
I'm having the same problems with mine.
It initially connects to wifi fine but when the screen goes off it sometimes drops the connection and will not reconnect without a reboot.
I have tried setting it to keep the wifi when sleeping but it makes no difference.
I found a few similar reports elsewhere and followed most of the suggestions, like changing routers, changing wifi channels, setting an IP address instead of DHCP etc. Nothing seems to make any difference so far.
Mine never seems to reconnect after waking up, but I just go into the Wireless settings/Wifi settings window (where it lists all the Wifi networks in the area) and press on the network name and it brings up a dialog allowing me to connect again. I press the Connect button and it instantly reconnects. No reboot required...
Try increase your router's "Group Key Update Interval". I had the same problem with my D-Link DIR-655. I changed mine to 10 hours and it's working fine for me now.
i have the issus that my wifi is "connected" i mean i see the logo at the top bar but after a few minutes i don't get any update from the internet like gmail oder twitter when is wake up the device from sleep i get them back again
maybe it something with the Group Key Intervall but i can't switch it on my speedport w700v router
I just tried switching mine, highest it can go is 7200 seconds, so I bumped it to two hours instead of one. linksys
my wifi reconnects when I wake the screen almost 100% but it's not reliable.
I have to go to wifi list and reconnect. Sometimes I disable wifi and then re enable, conects no problem. Irritating
i heared that switching the encryption from wpa/wpa2 to only wpa2 will solve this issues, will try it when i am at home
...seems like almost everybody got this problem.
for example with my Hero i don't had this problems so it's something with the W-Lan card of the Nexus
Got this problem too but will try the suggested work arounds when I get home tonight
found out that my encryption is wpa2 not wpa/wpa2 ... damn so thats not the reason
and my router cant configure the group key intervall
I don't have this issue, running CM5.0.3.1, mine is set to Never Sleep and it does not. My connection does not time out either. I connect to two Trendnet TEW-637AP's at home, in mixed b/g/n mode with WPA2-PSK mode security.
Could it be, that this prob exists just for nonrooted phones?!
i've got mcr 1.6 which is rooted and don't work
i think it's a problem with the wifi card and the wifi router
rooting just means that you get read/write access to all folders
doesn't change anything on your wifi connection

Not exactly, it means also modified system files, which could include those that interface with the wifi chip and those that control the sleep state of the device.
Also, Cyanogen (and most other custom roms now) are running on a different (newer) kernel.
yes i know
but mcr is although running on different kernel and it's not working there
i don't think its an issue bei the stock rom and mcr
maybe here is someone with CM where the wifi drops?
edit:
okay i tried it with the desire rom version from modaco, the same failures, maybe i try a CM built now, and see if it changes
Code:
[B]Rom [/B] [B]Router / Access Point[/B]
MCR 1.6 | Speedport w700v | not working
Desire MCR | Speedport w700v | not working
CM 5.0.3.1 | Speedport w700v | not working
i think this means it's not a rom issue, its something with the routers and access points in combination of the wifi card from the nexus
That´s strange..perhaps just accidentally, but: yesterday I installed "Task Manager" , which has an auto-kill function.....since then my Wifi reconnects perfectly
maybe because it automatically does anything inside of the 10 minutes which keeps the wifi active?
which one did you install?
there are a lot of them on the market
which developer?
edit:
ah i found a strange issue, today i was at the wifi of my girlfriend, she has the same router BUT i don't have the wifi problems there, with the same model of router thats very strange
i found another work around, i set my twitter client to 5 minutes update intervall, this means every 5 minutes is network traffic and the connection won't drop after my 10 minutes public key intervall change
don't know how much battery is used while setting from 10 to 5 minutes but i think it should be okay
Try a different WiFi channel
I've seen reports of WiFi connection problems being solved by changing channels on the AP. Channel 10 seems to be a consistently reliable choice.

[Q] Wifi dropouts when using internet

Hey guys,
I have a huge problem with my HTC One M7 wifi at my router.
My Problem:
This problem started after the HTC repair service sent my broken phone back with a new mainboard, accu...
Connect to the wifi
go to a app that uses Internet (e.g. youtube, google play...)
Start a video/download and wait a few seconds/megabytes
Wifi first only shows uploading arrow for few seconds, then wifi disconnects completely
After that I can either: stop using any internet and wait for a while, then it automatically reconnects to the router after some time and I have the same problem again.
Reboot and reconnect immediately, if I just try to reconnect nothing happens when pressing the connect button.
What I noticed:
When my Phone loses the connection to the router, my whole network seems to start lagging, when I played CSGO and my Phone started a download automatically, the wifi crashed after two megabytes, my ingame ping spiked to like 500ms instead of the normal 20ms, so the disconnect seems to affect the whole network.
At my friend's house my wifi worked smoothely enough to play 30 minutes of 360p videos on youtube and didn't crash a single time, his Internet connection is significantly slower than mine.
All other devices in my network work perfectly fine DECT Phones, androidphones everything works fine.
My specs:
HTC One M7: fastboot getvar all (in Attachments) with 5.0.1 stock rom
Router: AVM Fritzbox 7490
What I already tried: (nothing worked)
Restart phone and router
Connect with static not DHCP in wifi settings
Enable only 2,4GHz or 5Ghz frequency on my phone
disable either 5Ghz or 2,4Ghz frequency on my router
Use the Wifi FXR App to fix my wifi
factory reset in Router and Phone
block "clients3.google.com" in my routers settings for the connecting phone
install a Custom ROM
Is there a solution for this problem? I'm out of Ideas and can't find anything on google.

Wifi Connection

My Nexus 6 stopped connecting to my home network. I've rebooted the phone, turned wifi off and on in settings, cycled the modem and the router. All other phones and computers in the house work fine. My phone connected and worked well until today. Now the router shows connecting, then disappears, connection failed. On occasion it will connect but there's no data coming through. Any ideas?

I had the same problem and rebooting router helped.
If not that make your phone to forget wifi network or clean cashe (if you have custom recovery)
I've been having the same problem. The only way I could get my Nexus 6 to connect was to cycle airplane mode on and off. I also discovered that my Nexus 6 would not connect to my 5 ghz network when it was set to auto detect the WiFi frequency. I switched the the 5 ghz channel on my router to channel 36 and it seems to have fixed it.
A factory reset with complete data wipe cured the problem. I hope this doesn't become a regular occurrence.

[Q]Suddenly losing WIFI connection when phone is idle

Hello.
I am using my I9000 for a good while now and i am running cm11-20150901-SNAPSHOT-XNG3CAO3G0-galaxysmtd. Everything was running fine so far, but suddenly for some days now, the WIFI connection somehow gets lost when it's idle.
When this happens (and i don't know on what timeframe it does) and i activate the phone (pressing the home button) the WIFI symbol is either shown and then disappears or is already gone - but then after some seconds comes back and WIFI is on again.
Yes, i do have the setting for standby WIFI on always, so this should not happen.
Does anyone have an idea what could be the problem here?
Also i do have a fritz.box 7390 which supports a 5GHZ network - does the I9000 support a 5GHZ wifi? Maybe it's the router that's causing the issue an switching to the 5GHZ might fix it - but so far i could not see the network when it's on 5GHZ.. So i guess it's not supported but thought i might ask anyways...
Thanks!

wifi disconnects then reconnects

Hi all
Has anyone encountered a problem when connected to wifi it will just disconnect for a few seconds then reconnects? I've reset network settings reset phone and reset router but no luck.
Try one band on your router or separate the 5Ghz and 2.4 Ghz networks by SSID. I have seen this before. Sticking to one band worked, although I shouldn't have to.
I've encountered this, but I know it's my isp......they suck
Think I've sorted it now I downloaded an app that let's me connect for virgin media out in the open and i think it was conflicting with my internet.
Mine keeps playing up. Must admit never had half the problems I've had with this like I did with my oneplus 5
Try forgetting your WiFi network and re-adding it.
