First of all, here are some details about my Vivid:
Rooted, S-On
Android Version: 4.0.3
HTC Sense: 3.6
Software number: 3.26.502.56 710RD
Kernel version: 3.0.16-g1739124 [email protected] #1
Have ordered and received two new OEM batteries as replacement batteries. Neither one allows booting to take place, once inserted. Have tried leaving in the phone overnight to charge. Still no response the next morning.
Suggestions?
Many thanks!
Try charging with an external charger, there's been many reports of the vivid not being able to charge a dead battery

Hi! I have a Note 10.1 wich cames with an 2.0V charger (instead the N7000 1.0A charger), what could happen if i charge my phone with the 2.0A charger? Will it destroy my phone? Reduce the battery life or something? Futant55 compared the Note1' 1.0A vs the Note2' 2.0A in his N7100 and the 2.0 charged one hour faster than the 1.0A. Thanks!

it will charge the battery faster but in long term reduce the life of battery and may also damage the micro usb port.. they are made for certain voltage only..
Dont do it! I did just that, charging galaxy note n7000 using galaxy note n8000 (10.1) charger, its really fast at charging, very convenient just to bring one charger. After 2 month, my n7000 start to flicker whenever it drains under 20%. since I was using otterbox, never realised the battery is already buldging, even the battery door not holding to the case!.
Come to think of it, i think maybe my board is also faulty after using the n8000 charger,
Hi,
My mom has the old original 1.0A charger for the Note 1 and its started to stamming at charging so I wanted to order her a new one.
I'm using the new 2.0A for Galaxy S3/4 on my xperia Z and it charges up quick and works great. Although the original charger is 1.5A so it might "use" to the quick high Ahmp charging..
Is the Note 1 able to suck up 2A charge just like that? I've searched up a lil and saw that it might needs a profit kernel for that..
She has an old 4.0 ROM (probably over 1 year old), that mostly doesn't support it if its needed..
If so what ROM / Kernel can you reccomend that might fits it?
Any info you got about this could help.
Also if I'm already here, could you please reccomend of a new ROM (4.1/4.2 or anything higher than 4.0 ) that is stable enough for daily use?
Thanks thanks thanks ahead!! appreciate all your answers!
Yarden.
The Note isn't able to suck 1A IIRC, only through hacks. Still, the device charges pretty fast with a standard charger, just make sure it's being detected as a AC charger and not a USB charger.
I realise the phone is slow at charging and only takes the power it needs etc. But .......
Could someone clarify and post their charging mAh "speeds" when using the "Ampere" app from GP (no need for screen shots).
When I charge it using the original plug, I get around 800 mAh as the continuous maximum number.
But, I know someone in the U.S. (I'm in the U.K.), that uses a quick charge Anker multi port charger and there screen grabs show readings of around 1050 mAh.
So, I decided to buy a multi port charger. If you search Amazon for "choetech quick charge 2.0", you'll see the one I've just bought (6 ports, 2 for QC2).
I get slightly lower speeds than the original charger (and a lot slower speeds on other devices, but that's only story).
I'm left wondering why a product like the Anker in the US, charges faster than a product in the UK. Faster electricity maybe
I am using a custom ROM, "Android Revolution HD" on KK and they're using stock ROM Lp, if that makes such a difference?
Ideally, I'd like a QC2 charger with "normal" ports, just to future proof myself, should I update the phone.
Thanks for any info.
Earth to XDA, come in XDA. Are you receiving me? Over.
Why is fast charging disabled in custom roms for so long?? i have the phone for about a year now and the last 6 months fast charging is disabled everywhere! i have tried 2 custom roms ith no luck and hex kernel, but is still charging slowly! any ideas? i am currently using havoc rom and hex kernel on the latest update!
How much current does your phone draw?
I'm on Havoc 2.7 and I can charge at 15 W (5 V, 2900 mA) using Moto one power charger.
Haven't reached 18W though. Not even in stock.
