Anyone know why the Note 8 can't do this? This is the 1st phone I've had in years that had this limitation. To be clear I mean I have a word that is linked to a URL and when I copy and then paste a sentence with that word the link disappears.
When I hold the word, I can copy the link. But not the hyperlinked word, which I assume is what you want to do. Do other phones do this?
I have a bunch of templates that include words with links that I keep in Evernote. On all my other phones when I copy a sentence that includes a word with a link and paste it in to an email the sentence keeps the link, the note 8 will paste but the link is gone.
Does this work for action memo when one uses the S Pen to loop around an image or weblink, but the receiving party doesn't get a clickable item to open. Merely just an image.

Does anyone know a good app I can download view and edit Excel or Word files on? I have tried:
OfficeSuite
E-cell xls
Word To Go
I have attached a copy of the Excel file I am trying to manipulate on the G-Tab. I am able to open, view, and edit the file (well sort of edit). If you view the file file via Excel on you computer you will see it has "check boxes" but I am not able to see them on any of the above mentioned apps. Does anyone know of an app that I can do this with?
The form is being created for use in a physicians' clinic, to help avoid the the clutter of paper and eligible writing.
I was not able to upload (size limit) the Word file I want to be able to edit. But this file is filled with "drop down" menus which do not show up when opened on the G Tab.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Dave
That Excel sheet is full of Windows Forms controls. Since those are ActiveX controls I doubt *very* seriously you are going to find any programs on the G Tablet that will allow this file to work correctly. ActiveX, if you aren't familiar with it, is extremely Windows-centric. And at this point, fairly out dated.
Two questions for the Galaxy Note experts:
1.) Where are the S Note & S Memo templates stored?
2.) Is it possible to create own S Memo and S Note templates?
I've looked and there doesn't seem to be any obvious (and easy) way of adding new templates - which seems a really strange oversight by Samsung.
Hopefully someone will be able to say how it can be done simply and I'm a pillock!
it looks like...

Creating a S-Note template form a PDF file
When I imported pdf files, I just started Snotes, the app, not a new note, and under the menu picked import. Choose the pdf file but if you get the box that asks what to use to open it, ignore it, click on the screen with your pdf, make sure the file is selected and choose done up at the top. you'll magically go back to the snote screen with your pdf document showing. In order to save it, you'll have to at least make a mark and then can erase it so the save option will be available. When it's the blank you'd like to save to use each time, you can name it and save it as it is. Just be careful that whenever you open it to start a new blank, you need to rename the changed document so it doesn't overwrite your blank form. If it's helpful, when you're ready to save the 'template' open the menu and choose set as shortcut. That will give you the fresh template on your home screen. I put several running notes on my home screen that way and a blank 'template' - an Snote the way I like it set up. Just be careful not to overwrite it as I've accidently done a few times. Now I have extra blank copies.
On the Note 10.1 Samsung added the "import-template-function" with the firmware-update 4.1.1
Maybe they'll update the N7000 too.
Hi,
I see that DropBox is used often to distribute ROMs here, but I wonder if iDrive may be a better alternative (or an add-on)? DropBox caps at 16GB, but iDrive gives you up to 50GB of free cloud space.
On a side note, if you use Torrent, you can turn iDrive into a seedbox too. Here's how:
[Basic Idea] Upload a file you want to seed to iDrive, then use that file's URL as the webseed for a new torrent.
[Steps]
1. Sign up for a free account on iDrive. (Comes with 5GB)
2. Get 10GB more space instantly by allowing iDrive to send referrals to everyone in your email contact list (if you don't want to spam your friends, just use a spare email account with at least 5 contacts that you don't care about). Now you have 15GB! You can get up to 50GB through referrals.
3. Create a folder (I named it "Public"). Check the checkbox next to the folder and click on "Share" on top. This will take you to a page where you can configure some settings. DO NOT SET PASSWORD, or this will not work. Set the number of days to share to 30 (max). Set the number of downloads to 30 (max). Leave the rest untouched.
4. Upload a file you want to seed to that folder you just created.
5. Once the upload finishes, you can see a link icon (looks like a chain?) left side of the "file size." Click on it, and it'll give you the file's share URL (this will be our webseed URL).
6.Open up uTorrent and create a new torrent. Select your file. Add any public tracker (For instance: http://tracker.openbittorrent.com/announce). Paste the webseed URL from step 5 into the Web Seed box. Do not check Private torrent. Click Create and save as... and wait as uTorrent makes your .torrent file.
7.Done! Just post your .torrent file to start seeding. iDrive will seed your file for you. Use the bandwidth throttle feature (I'm still experimenting with this) as you see fit.
I hope this is helpful.
Cheers,
GT

Using Swiftkey keyboard. Trying to cut and paste a link but it will not allow me to paste the entry. I can type into it normally but long press does nothing for getting a "paste" option. Any suggestions?
What are you trying to copy/paste from/to? I have the same configuration, and have not seen an issue pasting a link into Chrome, for example.
Hi
I am making an android book app with java using one web view and my pages in html files.
I created an assets folder , under src- main and store my pages in there
Now all I'm missing is a navigation method.
As I am new to this, I am trying to find how to slide from one html page to another instead of clicking buttons. please if you know how , set an example because like I said I am new to this.
here is a link to the app I made if you want to have a look(its very small for testing purposes, with 3 pages).
https://github.com/Philip2021-Gr/book-app-sliding-between-html-files
So far no one gave me any reliable answer that refers to a rookie like me in coding nor I find a video tutorial that saws how to do that with html pages that are stored in your assets folder.
Thank you in advance
Philip
