Are delivery reports not available on the galaxy note 8 or is it a problem with my carrier? I tried to find it in the settings but without success. I'm using the unlocked version.
Settings in messages then more settings then text messages. You'll find the setting there

Thank you for your suggestion! That is weird! I tried that before but it's not there! I only see Manage SIM card messages, input mode, and Message center. Maybe it's a problem with my carrier, Cricket Wireless. So I'll switch to At&t later this month.

I think delivery reports are only available when you text between Galaxy phones. Are you texting someone with a Samsung Phone?
Oh really? I used to use them on every phone I had in the past. No, they are using Apple.

I'm not sure this is true. I receive delivery reports from a number of people that don't have Samsung phones and are on different networks to me.
My provider is Sky in the UK. If anything it might be network specific, but definitely not Samsung specific.

Of course it is NOT true.
Delivery report is a feature of SMS and this setting is stored on the SIM, not on the phone.
That means if you have set your SIM card with Delivery report activated on the old phone (any phone, including featured phones), it's still activate when you put your SIM card into another new phone.
And of course it also needs support from network carrier to work.
If your carrier does not support Delivery report, you will not be able to receive it.

Hello,
So, I just bought a BNIB S6 active...ATT says it is blacklisted. However, I just put my ATT SIM in it and it is working fine, just like its not blacklisted..the data works, SMS works, etc...
all of the "imei checker" sites also say that it is blacklisted also
so, my question is...why do the sites AND ATT say its blacklisted, but still working just fine? Is it something in the system that is laggy, and in a few days it will eventually block the IMEI and my SIM card??

well, interestingly....about 3 minutes AFTER I posted this thread, the phone did get suspended..lost the data, sms capability, etc.
However, I logged onto my account and just clicked on "re-activate" phone and now its working again...it said after you click "reactivate" to call ATT or chat with rep and they will unblock the phone...so, I called ATT..and they said the line has no restrictions and that i'm good to go...
Weird, so am I good, u think?

Presumably a stolen batch of phones. One can imagine that there are many points in the distribution chain where a case of phones might end up walking off a truck. But with inventory tracking, I expect that the imeis of each phone are also known, so they get blacklisted as soon as the carrier's asset tracking system catches up. AoN
Is it possible ?
Any information ?
I popped the SIM card out of my Pixel and it worked fine.
Been using it with digits since the week after the watch released. No problems here
So how do I get a sim card ?
Just call T-Mobile and ask for an extra nano SIM ?
Do I need to add another line ?
Thanks

Thanks. I just saw the instructions on how to get a digits sim. I'm about to jump on the watch bandwagon. Had an Asus zenwatch2 that took a dump. Asus refused to fix it under warranty. They said I abused it. I'm done with that company forever.

Sorry to pick your brain again but does your
1) Digits SIM have it's own number?
2) Your calls and texts are just forwarded to that number?
3) You can make outgoing calls/texts and not just take incoming?

1. Yes
2. No, although it does have its own number, its tied to my main line. So my watch gets the text and calls my phone does. Think of the assigned number as a placeholder just for it to work. I did the "multiple devices with the same number" option on digits.
3. Yes. Outgoing and incoming works for both calls n text

I was trying to see if I could avoid the extra line costs.
1) I have a verizon sim. I put it into a nexus 6p and installed digits. I used the option to use minutes for phone calls and now my verizon number rings when my primary rings without needing the digits app installed. My guess is that I will be able to stick the sim in the watch and it will ring when my primary line rings.
2) Texts don't get received but with the scenario above working, it's making me think that somehow T-mobile can just grab a number and turn on some settings on their end and make it to where it will work without having to get an extra line/sim from them.
What do you think?

After spending a fer moments trying to figure out how to enable the smart call feature on my S9+ like my S7 had I gave up and got on a live chat with Samsung. Turn out that this feature was removed and will not be made available to the U.S. Market. I am very disappointed with this news.
I would go :here:
engage in a live chat , maybe if they get enough complaints about this missing we can see it in a update.

Yes just the US market, ALL phones...carrier supplied or unlocked.
Are you talking about this feature here? http://www.samsung.com/global/galaxy/apps/smart-call/
If that's the case then it looks like i have that on my unlocked S9. Wouldn't phone > settings > caller ID and spam protection be what you're talking about?

Samsung reps have been known to tell BS lies when they don't have a clue.
I am beginning to think then that if it is only the carrier supplied S9's missing it, it is because they want you to pay for their Caller ID service then.
I'm in the USA. Just triple checked to make sure what i'm seeing is that smart call feature. It's the same. So it's an unlocked S9 on cricket, for what ever that's worth. Maybe it depends on your carrier? Phone detects your on verizon it removes said feature?

Or Sprint, so miffed that they nerfed the phone.
Sad to say but what do you expect from these larger carriers? They nerf all the good features so they can offer their often sub par versions for a price to you.
That is what I get for assuming, my S7 had it so I thought for sure that the S9 would have it too.
Have the unlocked version on AT&T. In the dialer settings, there's an option to enable Caller ID and Spam protection thru Hiya. Have to approve the terms & conditions (whatever those are) before it works.
Don't see it on T Mobile S9.....

I switched from my unlocked Pixel 3 XL to the T-Mobile OnePlus 7 Pro. Sorry to say but RCS won't work on any unlocked device unless you are a Pixel user on Project Fi. My friend, who has a T-Mobile S10+ and uses Google messages, didn't know that he had RCS until I asked him to switch back to the Samsung stock messages app and text me. As soon as he did that, BOOM, we could send huge files to each other and we could see the typing indicator.
I wish that Google messages app worked for RCS. When I first installed it there was an option in the settings for chat but I went back and it disappeared.

So everyone knows, Verizon refused to allow my Verizon SIM cards to work on my Tencent Chinese version of the ROG Phone 2. They said the IMEI is not approved for use on their network (I tried both IMEI for both SIM slots and got the same result). They claim to have no way to make an exception to allow the phone and that Asus would have to go through the certification process for the China models (which they will probably never do).
The phone works fine with T-Mobile since they don't seem to require a certification process for phones to be used on their network.
Ah, that's really unfortunate. Hopefully the international version will work with Verizon. The ROG Phone 2 is so close to being perfect, but if it can't be used on Verizon that will sour the experience for a lot of people in the states.

If I get it, it'll be the official U.S. Version. But good luck. If it works for you, that may be good news for the rest of us. The only issue I see is lack of frequency support on the Tencent version.
I wouldn't even bother. Verizon has some of the worse support for unlocked devices unless it's an Apple or Samsung of course! So frustrating..

Yes indeed you have.
So, does data work in any form on Verizon with the Tencent version? I just tried today (Nov 5th) and all the Verizon phone reps including managers who've been there years are claiming it is impossible to add the IMEI because the Rog Phone II still hasn't been added to their list of phones.
If anyone else really did get it to work, please clearly explain your steps.
