So I've been reading the thread about not using a screen protector because it can mess with the s-pen but im curious if anyone who has one has actually had issues. I used to buy screen protectors but last time I did i got frustrated with air bubbles and gave up. My year old g2x which has gorilla glass still doesnt have a scratch on the screen. I carry my phones in leather belt holsters so that helps with eliminating pocket scratches. I'd like to hear from people who actually have put a screen protector on thier note 2.
Unfortunately I can't comment on using the S-Pen with a screen protector, but I will link you to this video about screen protector installation that will reduce the likelihood of having bubbles.

Pretty good method. The issue I would always end up with is no matter how many times i wipe the screen there ends up being one tiny spec of dust that land on the screen and cause a bubble and once that happens you basically screw because the dust never wants to come off the protecotor. You can see in his video that the same thing happened to him and he was able to get it off with tape. I have some confidence in gorilla glass after going over a year with my g2x and still no screen scratches but plenty of drops.

go to your bathroom let the hot water run for few minutes so it collects all the dust in the air, then apply it there and hopefully you will have no dust
I use a screen protector, and also had one on my Note 1 and have no problems with the S pen functionality or sensitivity.
I had a 1 week period with no protector on the Note 2 as the shops didn't have any in yet, and noticed no difference between it being on or off.
I use the Focus Crystal Clear. It is very thin and clear. They have matt, anti glare ones, but they make the screen look dull.
http://www.dplushk.com/ultra-crystal-clear.htm
I got the shop to put it on for me. They did an excellent job. They used tape to clear the screen of dust, and also used tape to handle the protector whilst lining it up to apply it. That allowed them to lift it back up again if the alignment was slightly off without getting finger prints on the screen.
No problems here with sgp ultra clear

That thread is a myth. The manual is referring to the proximity sensor on top of the phone, not the digitizer sensor. That thread is totally misinterpretation and misinformation.
No problems here with Spigen ultra sceeen protector.

Ditto, works great, invisible unless you look for the edges and no affect on screen functions or S-Pen.

I don't use protector now as the glass is really strong in ant-iscratching I think.
I got 1 dollar screen protector, and today I put ZAGG one on, and everything works.
Had some trouble with Zagg due to dust, but I think it turned out great, I taped my self 13 minutes long, I'll put it on youtube.
I like bestskinsever more, but they don't have it yet
I just uploaded the movie.. did not cut it, so it 13 minuts long from start to finish.

Another vote for Spigen Ultra Crystal screen protector....:good:
Waiting for my Spigen Ultra Crystal to come in!

I Just want to take the time to thank both of you. I Ordered a Spigen Ultra Crystal screen protector and used both of these methods combined and ended up with a perfect install on my first try. I just got my Note 2 in the mail today and left the original screen protector on it. Did the hinge method with painters tape, took a shower then took off the original screen protector and applied the Spigen Ultra Crystal screen protector. Came out great! O yeah I also wore a pair of rubber gloves just to be even more safe since I've had so many bad experiences applying screen protectors. I will comment back on S-Pen usage with the protector once I've actually used the phone lol i was just so excited about applying the protector perfectly that I had to come and thank you guys first!

Is it the same glass as from the Galaxy S3?
I not used a protector on the S3 and till so far no problems. The glass is still beautifull
+1 for Spigen!
I purchased the Spigen SGP [Ultra Oleophobic] and it installed and works perfectly.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009F260IA/ref=oh_details_o04_s00_i00
The first day I was a little worried the material was too "grippy" but oils from fingers/face has it working perfectly.
Oh and an additional installation trick is to take super fine grit sandpaper to your fingers tips (ha, not to get rid of fingerprints!!) to exfoliate dead skin cells that usually make up the tiny particles that contaminate the film or screen, especially around the edges where you can't help but make contact with the underside of the film. After using the sandpaper wash with a soap that does not have a lotion in it (like some dish soaps and Dove etc). I personally use denatured alcohol to remove all the oil from my fingers so touching the screen or film inadvertently will not leave any marks. It's only a few extra minutes of prep but gives you a flawless installation every time.
I bought a Pro Glass curved screen protector from Walmart and everything fit perfectly, felt nice, and looks great. But the touch on the back and recent button made you have to push harder and a little of the same issue typing but not as bad. I figures turning on glove mode would fix this, but Samsung being awesome decided to remove that feature.
Any solution for this?
Zagg is even having a hard time getting this right. I'm still using a tpu protector for this reason
Just tested the Glass4M Protector, not delay feeling. So far so good.

Hey...i tried both the curved glass and flat...neither were a good experience...the trouble with the flat glass for me was viewablility because you can see the edges of the glass and it is distracting. Also after a time it begins to collect dust and dirt along the edge which further shows the edge of the glass and is more distracting. And you lose some touchability at the area of the edge of the glass. Finally I began to hate feeling the lip\edge of the glass with my thumb.
The curved glass never fit good or worked good.
I finally settled on the wet install method for the armorsuit (i think that is the brand) and am happy with it. Hasnt pulled from the edges since i installed it amd protects screen nicely.
Hope this helps.

I understand the strugle to keep the screen protected and good looking.
I have used many protectors . Tempered glasses and cases.
As i love my phone to look good and clean. I even used to change tempered glass or protector film once in a week. As even if i feel 1% defect i change the glass or case.
I had much experince. I had used many tempered glass.
And in months of experince i had a glass that has no defect at all. Touch works like real screen from edges also. Smoth and shiny. Scratch less. I used it months but cant see a minor scratch.
And i loved that glass that much that i bought 5 togehter which are enough until i change my cell.
See if you cant find yourself this glass. U ll pray for me lol.
The best tempered glass i had in whole my life . 100 percent clean clear and reponsive. I can garunte that.
And 1 thing more. Its that much good it can be reused even i reused 1 of glass 2 to 3 times. Pop it up clean and again can be used. Such awsome glue .
I am sharing pic. Search for yourself
Yes 1 problem that i forgot. The only problem is that you cant use thick case with it. Like spigen tough armor etc. You had to use a thin case. As thick cases push the protector upwords.
For me thats not a problem because i can find bundle of cases but a perfect tempered glass cant find any other.

So long as you don't mind the screen feeling awful... This is a good screen protector.
Took mine off as it feels terrible and the spen marks It up
all wet installation protectors are ****. just like all glass protectors except whitestone.
if you got money for whitestone go and get it, if not get a driy installation pet protector.
everything else is pure **** and not worth the money.
Good job by making video vertically.
Huawei P30 pro has same screen size/dimensions as our device, and so i purchased this screen protector https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07N2MVBXF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 works like a charm.
I followed your advice, picked up this screen protector and it works great and wraps around the curved part of the screen. No issues with it lifting yet, especially where I have a silicone case sitting on the corners of the phone where the screen protector sits. I would prefer a glass protector but I doubt if they will ever make a good one for this one. From past experience and online reviews, when looking at tempered glass protectors, those that have a black edge around the protector. That is where they apply the glue to stick to your phone. This creates a halo/bubble effect in the center of the screen where there is no adhesive. I tend to buy only the ones without the black edges. I'm waiting for Whitestone Dome to come out with one for this phone. I got one for my other half's S9+, works brilliantly and has full screen adhesive plus curves for the edge. Not sure if this one would work for our phone plus its out of stock lol

I went with glass for now, and it not covering the curves is honestly no big deal for me.

I use the fingerprint scanner a lot. Does the glass protector hinder it at all? The film type protector has no issues with it so far. Just not as smooth as glass of course

I'm about to buy what y'all suggested. Unfortunately, I bought the j&d screen protectors, and it doesn't even stick to the screen where it starts to curve. Has anyone found a better case for this phone? It just feels so fragile and I don't want to break it. Lol
Finally found a glass screen protector full adhesive for our device https://www.amazon.com/dp/B085C1WNPR/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_uj.3EbV1PRA50
The instructions have to be followed to the teeth or the install will be messed up.
