Some phones are great to take camping because if you play Asphalt 8 long enough, the back warms up to the ideal temperature that can bake bread. Rate this thread to express the extent to which the OnePlus 5T stays cool under extended heavy use. The only time it ever got warm was when I was charging it above 60% while playing a game otherwise it never even warms up.
I just tested mine out with a collection of Google Cardboard apps. While my last phone (LG G3 F460, SnapDragon 805) would heat up to an alarming degree and start throttling after about 15 minutes of any Cardboard app, I played for about an hour with my 5T and was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't any warmer than when I put it into the headset! This impressed me and got me excited about Cardboard and Google VR again, which I was skeptical about with my last phone.
Yeap surprisingly it doesn't heat up even when using it while dash charging.
Yes it's as cool as the note 8,very impressive.
1080p 60fps video after about half an hour got the phone a bit hot, was in the hard case that came with the phone however. But it was still able to record. CPU was around 55c
Only on rare occasions like playing GPU intensive games or while decoding and encoding videos does it get slightly warm. It is the coolest phone I have ever used till now. I am overwhelmed!

This is exactly what baffles me. The phenomenon when you are able to pump about 4 amperes of current without its side effect of getting heated is actually something like "abra ka dabra" & "hocus focus" of the magical world! I am still intrigued by its quick yet cool "DASH" charging feature.

I think they designed the dash charging plugs to take all the heat for the phone. It's a pretty clever trick.
doesn't heat up quickly (played GTA SA for 30 mins )
if i use utorrent app in my oneplus5t, it heats within 5 mins and reaches almost 60 degree easily.
it is consistent behavior, which happens everytime.
Could you test cpu temp and throttling using this app? I think it's one of the best ways to measure cpu temp and performance.
I usually set it for just 5 minutes and it's enough. Also, tick the boxes in settings to show cpu temp and share a screenshot. Thank you!

Had this phone for quite a few month now. These days, I use it mostly for gaming(auto), no need to pay attention to it for sometimes. But it does get pretty hot. Not very suitable for handheld gaming (high-end games). What I do is put it somewhere with good air flow, room with fan/air-con, even on the floor (its cooler than on table...). My Samsung Galaxy Note 2 heats up way more that this phone, even on the floor, playing the same game. Just saying...
Other usage is just great. No overheat. Even mid-range game won't heat it up too much.

nice!!! - but i suggest you move the fan which is below GPU a bit off from the metal pieces of you case(it will make less noise)
check mine out!! -- I keep it without sidepanel, and the orange fan (the fan not the cpu cooler) -- it blows the air straight on the RAM + it gives fresh air to my CPU cooler, without that orange fan my temps are at least 5C higher ,, oh and its held in place with 3 cooper wires (i dont know the right name for them, but thats as close as I could think of)!! maybe youll get some new Ideas!!

Your 360 is quiet? The few ones I have heard sound like little jet engines. Is it a more recent model or is it one of the originals? - (I know its way off-topic for me to ask, but I am kinda curious if the newer 360 builds are better).

The CPU cooler is ZALMAN CNPS9700 LED ... its a pretty good cooler, comparing to the stock cooler it dropped my temps by about 30C !! Its all cooper (cooper gives out heat faster), it has also got a AMD mount, and a fan speed controller!!! its real good, but also a bit pricey (at least for me) !!

I didnt order it from amazon-- but from a internet shop in Latvia!!
My CPU is intel (socket 775 - core 2 duo) but the cooler came with mount also for AM2, 754, 939, 940 sockets !!! just read some reviews and look in some internet shops or something!!

Hello, everyone. Does anybody know how to increase the gaming performance on Ascend P7? L10 Because I've been experiencing massive frame drops troughout playing, and slutters. The phone randomly drops the frame. Sometimes it works fine. Played world of tanks blitz, I'm having over 40-50 fps, suddenly it drops to 15 fps. WTF?

same here. "Simpsons Springfield" for example. Flawless on any of my Samsung devices.. On my new P7, ultra slow with massive frame drops....

You are the one that went into rage mode for no reason, certainly not us. I'd like to make a joke about what place is more appropriate for you (ehm.. kitch.. ehm.. en) but that would sound too much male chauvinist and inappropriate for this kind of place.
And it's not a hardware-related problem, but lack of firmware optimization on the graphics side. My old Motorola RAZR or LG 2x perfectly handled these kind of games without problems, now I have an Ascend P7 which is better than the previous devices by 4x and terribly lags sometimes. You do the math.

As for the problem u guys are facing.. I suggest to install clean master and use its game boost feature. When I had p6 I used this app and it helped me quite a lot.

For me clean master didn't help. I think this is no ram or space related. Maybe some kind of overheating. I upgrade from version 133 to 136 and no difference. Tried to turn of wifi, nfc, mobile data and no difference. :-/ And turn off auto brightness didn't help too.
PS: for me this is happening in NFS MW. Downloading asphalt 8, will see.
PS2: Try activating ROG. For me it is much better.

This phone is good for moderate gaming. I used the word moderate just to mention that every game will work with this device. There will be occasional lags when the phone is heated. I played high intensive graphic games with this device without any problem though.
List I played:
NFS MW - u won't feel the lags much
Walking Dead Season 1&2- S2 sometimes, very rarely lags. When phone gets hot. Still I played for hours without any problems.
Amazing Spider-Man - Works flawlessly
Clash of Clans - Works flawlessly
Subway Surfers, Temple Run 1,2 etc works without any problems.
I ran today compute geekbech 4 and I am amazed.
This thing beats an Samsung Galaxy S5 at compute by almost 600 POINTS. And I just turned on Force MSAA 4x in developer options. This is just the stock rom, without any custom kernels or cpu patches. I know this is not the CPU bench, this is more based on.the GPU, but I can't belive that this phone is. 100 points far than a samsung galaxy s6, what is much more expensive and powerful.
This phone still has life in it, maybe even with patches, overclocking, etc. we can actually beat an s6 at the compute benchmark. I will try kernel esal and other patches, maybe we can reach 2000 points on compute benchmark, and maybe even some cpu improve in performance.

Stock kernel with patches...
I enabled Force MSAA 4X,but the score is lower than before (a few days before on GB4.1.0: 1762, now: 1652). My GeekBench account: zhaozihanzzh ,you can check it.

I've looked a bit into developer options and I had at the time of the benchmark I had turned on also "Force GPU rendering"

I thought you wanted to learn building ROMs etc. That's not that easy with another phone without source code. I'd suggest you to get a phone where its easier.

For me, iph 7 is a piece of cardboard. And it is not the internals about. It's about the system. Too much worse than android. No customizations. Just to get root or "jailbreak" acces, you need to install some no-name chinese app and hope you don't brick your iphone.
And still, why you post this here? This thing is totally different than an android phone. If you have a Huawei P8 Lite/P8 Lite 2017 or at least a Huawei branded phone, or have android on your iphone, then post something.

Lol, don't panic. IF I am going to buy a P8 Lite 2017, I'm going to buy in august, september, but still, IF I am going to buy it. If I buy it at this moment there are no custom roms, root I think just appeared, and I want custom roms.
I looked all day on google and youtube and, it is not that hard, IF I'm not going to get errors.

You can get (almost) all the customization you need while Jailbreaking and can make the app yourself You can't brick an iPhone, you can restore it through itunes and always bring it back to life, while that isn't necessarily the same on the Android side. Does having an iOS device mean I can't visit or post on these forums?

I don't make hate, you can post wherever you want, and there is no war, I love android for more apps, etc. , and I love ios for smoothness, esthetics and looks. If there would be an iPhone 7 Plus with android on it and same geekbench results, that would be amazing.

actually, the fridge thing probably won't work on OP5 with OOS because of their benchmark "cheating" thing, they removed most of the thermal throttling anyways I think...

It isn't exactly cheating. Besides all your so called cheating does is boost scores max by measly 1k-2k points if any at all. Besides if you knew how benchmarks worked you would know that locking freqs at max doesn't help but makes it worst due to throttling.
And for those that don't know red score on antutu means fsync is off which isn't exactly cheating.

It isn't exactly cheating. Besides all your so called cheating does is boost scores max by measly 1k-2k points if any at all. Besides if you knew how benchmarks worked you would know that locking freqs at max doesn't help but makes it worst due to throttling.
And for those that don't know red score on antutu means fsync is off which isn't exactly cheating.

I used to choose to leave my note 4 in the fridge while flashing roms or making backups. That thing would shoot up to 75°C the second I started doing anything. ??
