"Enhanced Messaging" option - Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Questions and Answers

Does anyone have this option in their default messaging app's settings? I had it on my Note 5 and have been wondering if my carrier has disabled it on the Note 8, or if it's just been removed altogether.

You don't need it, its featurewise halfway between sms and mms

"Messaging" app MMS fail

I'm using BlissPop and have been unable to send/receive MMS using the stock Messaging app.
Google Messenger works
Sliding messaging works
Hangouts works
Not an APN issue, unless there are hidden ones somewhere.
Interestingly, in sliding messaging when I ask it to automatically insert the APN, two options come up: the right one (optus), which I have in settings, and the wrong one(virgin), not listed anywhere else.
Could be possible that the virgin APN is hidden somewhere and being defaulted too in Messaging? I am actually on Virgin (Australia), but they use the optus network so the optus APN is the correct one.
Any thoughts on this, besides telling me to just use one of the other apps?
You or your ROM running an ad blocker? On Verizon I have to whitelist the MMS server
Sent from my Benzo'd Google N6 on VZ
Interesting thought, but I imagine that no MMS would come through if it was blocking the server. My issue seems to be isolated specifically to MMS.apk

Verizon Message+

Is there a way to have my phone to turn on temporarily when receiving messages using Verizon's Message+. I really like Verizon messaging app because it syncs between all my devices.
I use AcDisplay
On mine, if I turn on Enable Popup and Enable Popup Over Lock Screen in the Message+ settings menu, my phone turns on when I get an SMS message.
I'm an idiot....

Not receiving delivery confirmation for sms or mms

Hi all! I have unlocked S8 with T-Mobile firmware, but for some reason, my phone isn't letting me know if sms/mms was delivered. I have set all the options in Samsung Messages app, properly. When I text to another Galaxy user which supports advanced messaging on T-Mobile network, then I do see "delivered", but not other people.

turn off emergency amber alerts

Where do you turn off emergency amber alerts?
I've checked in:
Messages > Settings - not found
Notifications > sound alerts (sound) - greyed out
Network connections - more connection settings - not found
Open the messaging app, tap Menu, settings, scroll down to emergency alerts, rap and disable. You won't be able to disable Presidential Alerts though or you may not have that one depending on what country you're in.
EDIT: I see you looked in messages, that is the default Samsung messages you're looking in isn't it? Every Samsung phone I've seen has it in Messages.
I have the G9730 (Hong Kong) variation and live in the U.S. Because I had two SCREAMING LOUD Amber alerts last week, one while sitting in a dentist chair , I looked into this.
Yes, it appears to be buried in the Samsung Messages app and not in Android itself, I guess it's a regional thing. All I can find though in these Settings is something labeled "Roaming emergency alerts." Now, if you go into "Notifications" yes, there -is- a setting for "Emergeny Alerts" (sound), but guess what? It's greyed out!! You can't change it!!
So I've switched off the Roaming setting and also turned off notifications on this app completely. I usually use the Google Messages anyway and there is no setting in there for alerts at all.
So if this setting is only on U.S. builds of the Samsung Messenger app, is there a way to install a version that would have these settings on an international phone? XDA forums seem like they should know. Would I need a different CSC coded firmware? Likewise I only have the "Roaming emergency alerts" option in Messenger, but I'm not roaming so I don't think it affects anything.

I've got Intl version of the Note 9 and there is nowhere to turn Amber Alerts OFF. HELP, I don't like the Govt. sending me ANYTHING...
I have an SIM-unlocked SM-G970U in the USA using Verizon. I got the 10 upgrade yesterday and the Amber Alert setting for me is listed under Connections > More connection settings > Wireless Emergency Alerts.

Does turning notifications completely, work?
Just purchased a Samsung Galaxy Tab A (international version) and there is no way to turn off the alerts, can't do it via Messages App, settings (it is grayed out) and don't have the option for wirless emergency alerts under the category of Connections, More Connection settings. That option is not in the list. Anyone make any progress on getting this shut down?

Call and Message Continuity

I have recently purchased a Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e (Wireless) and it has the ability to pass calls and messages from compatible devices to the tablet. Currently, Sprint and T-Mobile S10+ is listed as a compatible device.
I'd like to somehow get this functionality to my Note 9. From the looks of the research I've done this is happening through a synch of the Samsung user account on the 2 devices.
My Note 9 has the Call and Message Continuity system app installed, but the feature isn't accessible through the system settings. Is there any way to enable/activate or otherwise make the setting available (Settings > Connections (it should be right after the Hotspot setting)) ??
Edit/Update - Call and Message Continuity is now available on the Note 9. I just performed the latest update and the feature is enabled. It should be noted that the update mentions nothing about the added features though. The software version I'm running is stock N960U1UEU2CSH2 . The Call and Message Continuity feature is found under Settings > Connections > Call and message continuity .
I'm able to synch messages using Samsung Flow...fyi

If you have ONLY used Samsung Flow, then you have no idea what you are missing with Call and Message Continuity. FLOW IS NOT THE SAME AT ALL.
FLOW merely duplicates your notifications. They are not actionable in meaningful anyway.
FLOW IS NOT C&MC.
