Nope, phone will be "reset" by the process.
Back up apps and settings to samsung account....it does a pretty good job restoring apps, settings and home screen setup.....you'll have to do some manual restoring of some things.....

If I root my phone, will I lose all of my apps/settings/wifi passwords and have to start over? If so, is there a way to backup data before I root? Thanks!

Rooting doesn't delete anything on your phone. Also, Google keeps all your apps and wifi passwords in the cloud. (as long as you have it setup that way)
Hello,
I have a Galaxy S5 and I want to unroot my phone with the ''Full Unroot'' Option in the Super SU App.
But I have a question, will Full Unroot delete all date from my phone? Like Pictures, Apps, Contacts etc?
Or will it uninstall the root only?
Thank you,
Chris

Nah, it doesn't delete your data.
I have a T-Mobile Note 9. It recently restarted and erased itself... I have no idea what prompted this. Unfortunately, I didn't have a backup Is there any way I can retrieve the lost data? I have tried programs like Android Data Recovery, but no luck.
Thanks for the help!

If you change device model, better to use other methods to transfer your data, said and settings.
I prefer Samsung smart switch, as it was made for Samsung devices.
Alternatively Google allows to backup Android data to Google drive of your account and restore it when installing a new device using your Google account again. It's a feature build in nearly all Android versions.

I am wondering if this can restore your apps data like the apps preferences and settings. Have you tried it?

I prefer using Samsung smart switch. That can transfer app data of many apps. Just for a few apps, I have to create and restore data manually (e.g. WhatsApp).

last time I used smart switch it only restored apps, but not their settings/preferences. That was some time ago though... Usually I root and use Titanium Backup or Swift Backup for this. I hope that smart switch can nowadays also do it. There's been a need for something like that that's officially Android or Samsung supported.
Done it by Smart switch and titanium backup guys. Thanx

So does SmartSwitch restore the apps data and settings? I guess not, as you had to use TB, right?

you can backup all your data to SD card from Settings
This won't do copy 1to 1. Back in settings does not do back up like titanium backup. All app i will have to download and install. Apps which aren't in play store or cracked apps won't be install. Plus all internal settings in each app won't be safe. This backup in settings is useless.

Yes. then try Migrate app or Swift Backup. I think that's what you need.

Thank you for answer. Do those apps need root access? I have forgotten to mention apps need to work without root
