Note 8 twitter notification issue - Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Questions and Answers

since the purchase of my note 8 I have a twitter notification problem that stop after 1 hour of sleep, I disable bettery optimize but without success, please help me.:crying:

It's not necessarily the time, but the messages. Twitter will only keep 49 notifications and then it stops notifying. My wife is a twitter user and this has been a huge complaint of hers. After doing research, this is what I found. It's been a couple of months now, so I can't remember where I found it. There wasn't a whole lot of information out there and it took me a while to find it.
I'm pretty sure that it's a Nougat issue and it might be for all apps that give notifications. It's just that on twitter, she gets more notifications.

None that I could find. I'd love for there to be a solution.

[Q] Google now location services stopped and phone permanently awake

News about this issue is spreading but wanted to post here too to see if anyone had ideas about how to stop this in the time being. It seems a google services update for google search/now caused people to see location services as stopped in the google now window. All GPS/location settings are on when you click on the link it provides to reach the settings.
This part though I haven't seen any reports. My battery history is now showing the phone is awake almost constantly. Betterbatterystats is showing that partial wakelocks for something called NlpWakeLock (googleservices) is running the whole time.
I'm hoping that something will show up either here on xda or productforums on google but advice is much appreciated!
Yes, news certainly is spreading fast. From my 1 minute of browsing post titles in this very subforum I found four other posts on this very issue. This fifth post will just further dilute the available information on this issue (which Google is investigating)

Yep, I apologise, less specific searches worked. I can't post a link but I suggest anyone reading this searches xda for post 2288395 which already has multiple responses.

[Q] Sync all, at the same time?

Feeling really stupid here... there should be a way to do this, but for the life of me, I can't figure it out.
I want my gmail, facebook, newsreader, etc... to all fetch data at the same time and on the same interval. I see tantalizing clues here and there that this is possible and should be easy, but I can't get it.
Relevant info:
Moto X
Republic Wireless
4.2.2
No Root
According to RW, I should have 4.4.2 in a couple of weeks, if that changes anything.
Thanks
Tasker could work, but needs root.
Not sure of anything else myself. Will be tricky cause Google syncs, and apps like Facebook are pushes..... Very different things.
---------- Post added at 04:15 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:13 PM ----------
You could use something like juice defender to only allow a data connection at set intervals.....but if you're a moderate to heavy user, it will consume more battery than it saves.
If you're a very light user, well then it may be beneficial.
Thank you!

Where to request app to be made

Hi, I'm not looking anything Illegal. I hope someone can point me in the right direction. This would just collect time stamps already shown.
I want a time tracking app for FB.
It can be run off a browser. It would goto a selected friends message and according to the time stamp document their FB time.
Example. Already on FB in the message top it states Active Now, Active 7 minutes ago.... It would just check and log according to the preferences.
It would produce a time log. Active from 12:02 am - 3:am Active from 7:01pm-7:05pm.
Is this already out there?

Hi there, I think I understand what you want but not sure it's possible. Facebook only says the last time you were online / active, so it doesn't record the spaces between old posts.
For example, for the following
Bob : Posts a status update a 8:00 am
Bob : Stays online, just reading and looking at other peoples posts
Bob : Posts a status update at 10:00 am
Bob : Goes offline straight after posting the message
Fred : Posts a status update a 8:00 am
Fred : Goes offline straight after posting the message
Fred : Posts a status update a 10:00 am
Fred : Goes offline straight after posting the message
For both users, if you look at their page it will suggest that they were last active at 10:00 am but it won't tell you that Bob was online the whole time since 8:00 am but Fred wasn't. So all you would be able to assume at best is that the person has been online continually ever since their first post was ever made (or that day, but that assumes they weren't on Facebook prior to midnight until past midnight).
Yes you are correct. They could be online.
I only want to know when they are active.
I almost have a macro for PC written to screen shot that area.
OCR it, and save it in note pad with a time stamp.
But I would rather have an app.

Are you wanting this app to work without being visible on screen? Taking a screenshot is the wrong way to go about "screen scraping" the data, you should be getting the raw HTML data and then parsing that to get the information that you want, it would be much more optimal than performing OCR on a screenshot. If you want this app of yours constantly monitoring other users then it would have to work without being visible on screen. I'm new to Android in particular so not sure what class you would need to act as a http client to obtain the data.
But I think you just missed my point, you can't tell how long they have been active. You're making a guess and assuming they haven't gone offline during posts. Just because I posted twice in an hour, doesn't mean I was active on facebook that whole time. All you can tell from the information is,
1. What that have posted and when
2. When they last posted
---------- Post added at 02:24 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:23 PM ----------
what exactly do you mean by "active"?
---------- Post added at 02:29 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:24 PM ----------
This article shows how to download an image programatically
http://www.helloandroid.com/tutorials/how-download-fileimage-url-your-device
You'd need to download he page via its URL and then parse the HTML data.
---------- Post added at 02:35 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:29 PM ----------
Another example of downloading a file programatically,
http://wininterview.blogspot.in/2013/04/download-file-in-android-from-remote.html
byte[] buffer would contain the data you want in the downloadFile method, this would be the raw HTML data for the page (what you see when viewing the source for the page in the browser).
Thanks for the links and advice.
I am not a programmer and was only use the tools that knew how to use.
It's running on my pc. But i would prefer an app to do this.
It doesn't have to be hidden. I am using macro mouse to run my work around.
I don't think you are correct about the FB activity. I am following this person and would know if they posted. So apparently they are either messaging or browsing. They are not very popular so I believe it's browsing for the amount of time that they are active.
From the horses mouth so to speak

"When you view your conversations in mobile messages, you'll see how recently your friends interacted with Facebook."
Active 10 minutes ago would mean, they interacted with Facebook 10 minutes ago. It doesn't say how long they have been interacting with Facebook for, so if you want to build up a map of when someone is interacting with Facebook, that is not possible. You may be better asking over on the Facebook developers forum to clarify this or maybe find an alternative way to achieve what you want.

correct so"Active 10 minutes ago" would mean, they physically interacted with Facebook 10 minutes ago. They were not asleep they actually picked up there phone or mouse and physically interacted with facebook.

So I wonder if they are physically interacting with Facebook only every 10 minuets this will always say 10 minutes ago.
when they pause browsing it show be re-starting the counter correct.
so recording the changes in this status depending on Facebooks refresh limit one could document a creepy map of when someone is physically interacting with Facebook.

I'm on B10 right now, with a new update to B15 pending from this afternoon.
Part of the update to B15 has me concerned: "Added a new application, WeShare"
What is WeShare, do I need it, can I uninstall it (easily)? I can find precious little about it - a relatively poorly rated app on the Google Play store, and as a Google search result, possibly some way of making "extra money." I've been happy with this phone and its software (minus Yahoo Sports) so far, but my skeevy sense is ringing here. Should it be?
Unfortunately its not easily uninstallable, you can disable it. When initially running WeShare it asks for a lot of permissions such as GPS, read/write into your files, I just didnt bother touching it at all.

Just got B15 today myself. After reading your post pointing out the installation of "WeShare," there is, indeed, painfully little online about it. The "WeShare" Apps on Google Play appear to be unrelated. No idea who wrote it (ZTE or a vendor). I took the chance to authorize the permissions (I have nothing of great value to lose), and it appears the App is, essentially, a media-sharing App for transferring stuff to another (especially a new) phone. It also appears to have a Backup & Restore feature. Haven't used any part of it yet. I'll do some more research and post if I find anything more.
---------- Post added at 02:54 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:13 AM ----------
I did some more research and found an older version of WeShare on Google Play, with a similar but different icon. In B15, the icon is a white paper airplane on a medium green background. The older version (6.2.8.2462), for the Chinese market, is a white paper airplane on a lighter green and yellowish background. The good news is it's a ZTE product; the listed developer is "中兴通讯" which is ZTE in Chinese, and the contact is a ZTE employee at the Chinese domain.
As a newbie, I can't post URLs, but if you search for 中兴通讯 WeShare at Google Play, you'll find it.
This update seems to make Marshmallow more stable. Before the update, I had problems with Blue Mail constantly crashing. However I haven't had this problem with Blue Mail or any other app. since installing the update. Also, battery life barely drains at all on standby. It's almost as good as turning the phone off.
It looks like the camera blur issue is solved through this patch.
Looks like it solved the Nova Launcher issue. Haven't had any memory leak/lag issues.
can't play 24bit 192khz FLAC after updating to b15

I'm playing 24bit 96.0KHz Flac files and they work fine on the default music player and other downloadable android music players after the update. Maybe there's an issue with just 192khz ones? idk. I don't have any of those on my device right now.
Just got a new Axon Pro and I was wondering if 0B15 was the last update this device got? I am not worried about nougat because I know we wont get it nor will any developer be able to do it. But can someone confirm if this A1PV1.1.0B15 was the latest one for A1P?
New update
Sent from my achill using XDA Labs
New api
I wrote to ZTE and have been told that the Axon Pro will not receive any additional updates. As far as they are concerned, the phone is dead.

Note 9 to Tab S4 messages

Hey guys -
Recently I switched back to the Android / Samsung ecosystem and have one thing that I haven't been able to fully transition, I sold my iPad Pro 12.9 and got a Tab S4 likewise sold my iPhone X and went with the Note 9, I bought the LTE version of the Tab and connected it with Sprint data.
I'm using Samsung Flow which has helped somewhat but I'm looking for a solution where if i'm on my tab I can potentially answer and start new messages as well as answer calls. With Flow, new messages that come into my phone I can answer from my Tab but I cannot initiate a new message from within the S4. Incoming calls ring on my S4 but there's no method from what I can tell to answer the call. Is there any app or native method of accomplishing this, for those familiar with iMessage on iOS, i'm looking for a similar transition between Tablet and phone. I know there are Google Voice and other second number options but this would entail having a second number confusing people but also the Google Voice apps are terrible.
Thanks-

I'm using Pulse SMS and love it...
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=xyz.klinker.messenger
Super clean interface and feels OEM. I also keep a tab open on my computer...sure is nice when logging into 2-factor sites and I don't have to reach for my phone.
Highly recommend this app for sending and receiving on multiple devices.

Also for phone calls, it's a little convoluted but you can get a free Google Voice number to use with the Hangouts app on your Tab. It won't let you use your actual cell number and I'm not sure it's possible to do what you can do with a pair of iDevices. Works good enough for me though.

Thanks for the suggestion, I gave Pulse a try and immediately found it was a winner, I had previously tried MightText and PushBullet and although they each had some strengths I found Pulse to be best for messaging, I'm still on my trial but will most likely end up with the life membership based on the low cost.

Pulse is great and seeing frequent updates...glad you like it. I purchased about 2 minutes after installing and confirming it worked as intended. Small amount to support the dev.
