Can I flash a standard stock ROM on a Kid's Edition? I do not want the kid's version, but when I flash the ROM it seems to just update instead of over write. Unfortunately I believe it is 5.6.

I have cyanogen mod 7.0 on my nexus one and I want to restore to its original ROM(Google ROM) also I installed rom manager on my phone ?
How can I do it ?
If I do it can I get latest update from Google?
Use the Nexus One Wiki http://forum.xda-developers.com/wik...des_&_Tutorials#Unroot_.2F_Restore_your_Nexus
or you can fastboot flash the N1 system images available at developer.htc.com
To be able to successfully update OTA directly from Google you will need to revert to stock recovery & GRI40
You don't need stock recovery for the OTA...
Why not just go and flash one of those vanila AOSP rom's? then you have almost the stock nexus feel but still keep the root and stuff like that.
Why you want to go back to stock anyways? is it just for OTA? cause those cumstum vanila roms are higher/newer version than what the OTA update would give you at the moment.
I have an original HTC one – Google edition, and I guess I was feeling a little bored today and I thought it be nice to try some HTC one non-Google edition roms
somehow I've gotten confused and so I wanted to ask, as I have an original Google addition HTC one is it possible for me to install a custom ROM on it? something like Viper Rom for example?
obviously, I can't have S off, or at least not that I know of so I was wondering would still be possible for me to flash TWRP recovery, and flash a custom ROM?
if by chance I wanted to go back to the Google edition ROM which I guess sometime I will, I was wondering if I could just use
[RUU] Google Edition Conversion. 4.4.2 RUU Zip pre-rooted/non-rooted + Firmware, to bring my phone back to a stock of Google edition since I won't be changing the model number to a non-HTC one Google edition phone..
my two concerns are I go ahead and install a custom recovery and flashy custom ROM and when going back how would I get back to the stock Google edition?
Non-google ROMS won't run before you'll make SuperCID (11111111) or another, eg. HTC-032 (Poland)
Hi, I've been canvassing a few threads trying to work out exactly what's needed to take my xt1058 to 5.1. I'm currently on Cyanhacker 5.0.2 nightly rom built on Mar-3, with TWRP recovery. To get here I had to do the CM11 -> CM12 based rom boot trick if it's important.
If I want to go to the official 5.1 ROM, is this the best path, or will I brick the device somehow? http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/general/how-to-install-5-1-lollipop-moto-x-t3089594
I'm fairly certain trying to go from 5.0.2 back to 4.4.4 will end badly, so this seems safer?
I've also spotted this, but not sure if this is better than the above option? http://translate.google.com.au/tran...ipop-51-stock-moto-x-2013-xt1058/&prev=search
Could someone please let me know which is the best path?
If you are talking about flashing to a custom or 3rd party rom based on 5.1, follow the ROM makers recommendation.
That being said... If you want a STOCK 5.1 rom.... then...
Because you are on a custom or 3rd party rom now, you need to check your bootloader version.. Boot to the Fastboot AP screen (aka bootloader screen) and the 2nd line will have the version.
If you have either 30.BC or 30.BD, your best bet is to sit tight and wait for a Stock Moto SBF of 5.1 to leak for your device/carrier, then flash that.
If you have 30.B7 or lower, find the appropriate Stock SBF for your carrier/model device, and flash it using either mFastboot or RSDLite.
Thanks for clarifying! I was looking to go from custom rom back to stock 5.1 (missing all the Moto features). My bootloader is 30.B4, so it should be okay to flash a carrier FXZ for XT1058 as per the Brazil moto forum link I posted?
I assume this will blast my custom recovery as well, so I'd have to re-apply TWRP and root?
EDIT: Actually this version seems to have TWRP? http://translate.googleusercontent....-root/&usg=ALkJrhgUAWS_u0rYHHVrsBRy4w5DG4VdvA
Hi,
No OTA updates for me as my Z2 Pro is running some merchant version as I have multiple languages available.
With that in mind, do I need to update to latest ZUI software, or simply unblock bootloader, root and flash custom rom?
At the moment I am at 2.1.120 ST
Same here. That's international ROM, which does not support OTA. I believe I'm gonna flash latest ZUI using QFIL method (there's a thread "How to flash stock ROM") but there's not much info about this latest ZUI version.
Both of you are best served following any of the guides to flash the stock rom via QFIL. After that you're free to decide how to continue (OTA, Custom ROM, Custom Recovery...)
Thanks, will do.
By the way, I bought the device specifically to go straight to a custom ROM. I had a really easy time flashing the stock rom, updating through OTA (didn't even need VPN for some reason) and then unlocked bootloader, flashed TWRP and AEX. The whole setup works quite nicely.
And according to a number of threads the device should be close to unbrickable. But I haven't verified that myself
(EDIT: Got stock back on it. I had to flash the bootloader.img as well as all the other files in the firmware.)
Hi. Not 100% certain I'm posting this in the correct topic, but I'm pretty sure it is.
I am wondering if anybody has the stock ROM for the Moto x4 (Android One) XT1900-1 32GB P4. I was an idiot and did not back up the stock OS before I installed a custom ROM, and I want to go back to stock now. I did find some stock 'ROMS', but all they had was a bunch of img files (bootloader.img, boot.img) and bin files (gpt.bin, logo.bin). I did install these "ROMS", but they did not include any kind of actual OS from what I saw. I, however, did not install bootloader.img, as I wasn't 100% positive they were for my specific phone, and I didn't want to brick my phone.
Thanks.
