I had to replace the speaker on my Turbo. I used a hair dryer to melt the adhesive to take the back off (like i've always done while also making sure not to keep it focused on one specific area of the phone). I am not sure what the problem is but now when I plug the charge cable in, I get a charging symbol in the status bar. When I go to the info page in the settings for the battery, It shows the battery percentage but it says "not charging". Another issue is that when I boot into recovery mode, it displays that the temperature is 429493709 degrees Celsius. I am certain this isn't correct. Has anyone else had this issue? The battery doesn't appear to be swollen. Have also cleaned all of the contacts.

Can someone tell me what this flex cable is connecting?
My phone would sometimes spontanously freeze and switch off, showing the 3 red leds and just stops responding. It won't even take a charge. Usually the battery is at 60% when the phone dies, and sometimes it shows a constant RED led.
The back cover is loose (but has enough adhesive to actually stick reasonably, takes little force to open it up), so I pressed that connector with medium force. The next thing that happened, is that the phone responded to the charger, booted to the "charging state", where it shows the battery state and so on (which it shows it's approx on 60%.
Or could it be that I press something else, which causes my phone to work properly again?

Thanks/Hvala!
But do you know what could be faulty on this specific point, which causes my phone to not charge? Can I find somewhere a complete guide to the disassembly and identification of all parts? It would make it alot easier for me . My phone is running again, going strong at 65% and still discharging for the last 3 hours. I'm logging the microVolts, temperature and other stats from the battery to see if it's the battery causing the malfunction, which I doubt.
Anyway, there should be something. By the way, prior to the issues, my phone dropped flat on the screen on tiles, about 1 meter high. So most likely, there is something loose/messed up. But I don't know what causes the entire system to flash the LED 3 times, saying that the battery is drained, yet after pressing on this point, immediately start up while on the charger.

Please PM me. (you speak croatian?)
The phone got immersed in water for 1 second. Like a dunce, I didn't turn it off and it worked fine and I didn't think about it. 36 hours later, on 50% charge and not charging (after working fine all day), it isn't detecting a cell signal, it's saying 0B mobile data used for the time period instead of the gigs it was previously tracking (and had a presumably accurate number in the gigs of wifi data). All the settings looked right, so I rebooted, it booted up, and maybe 30 seconds after finishing the reboot, it instantly and completely bricked. Power button did nothing for minutes, power+down did nothing. Plugging into computer does nothing, charging didn't seem to cause any warmth although I'm not betting my life on that.
I dissected the phone and there were small amounts of corrosion on the parallel pins near the audio jack, miniscule amounts in some other places, and "significant" localized corrosion at the microusb port and where the battery connector plugs into the motherboard. If the battery connector on the mobo is bottom right, corrosion got near, but didn't get on or appear to intrude into the EMI shield to the immediate left or to the one right above that, but I can't rule that out obviously. I cleaned visible corrosion off/out, checked battery and it was 3.8V at the mobo connector piece. I detached the mobo to check the underside, miniscule amounts of corrosion, cleaned, put back together, still a brick, EXCEPT charging clearly creates warmth in the inductive charger/battery area, but power and power/down still do nothing (no corrosion anywhere near those buttons).
If anybody has any bright ideas for things to try to salvage this guy, or places to check connectivity to troubleshoot further, I'm all ears.
You could try the old fashion method of pulling out residual moisture by placing it in a sealed sandwich bag with a cup of dry rice for a couple days. Sorry this happened to you.
What about the connectors for the cable from the switch assembly? Just disassembling and reassembling has caused issues for at least a few people reported on this forum.
Also, there is a board as part of the battery assembly. Just because there is voltage from the battery, doesn't mean there is sufficient current.
On a really old battery, you can have trouble getting a basic charge (been there, done that). This problem resulted in an apparently bricked device. The solution for that problem was to use a low power charger overnight. Something like the USB port on a computer. Then unplug and replug. If the screen shows the bootloader basic charging animation (white vertical battery), the battery itself is shot. But you should be able to get it charged enough to boot using a fast charger at this point.

I only unattached that ribbon from the mobo, not at the taped-over connection, and I'm like 99% sure it's back in the mobo fine because I've reseated it a few times and it feels tight. I never touched the junction between the power button ribbon and the mobo connector ribbon so that shouldn't be it. Pressing the power button definitely feels like it's depressing what it's supposed to. But I'm not even getting to the dead battery screen so wtf knows.
The battery (would normally) have more than enough charge to boot right now. Battery life was in the hours for constant use and it's been charged enough. My battery didn't seem to match the one in the teardown. It has

written on the wrapping and it wasn't immedately obvious how to get it and the inductive charger disassembled and off the midframe (maybe it was just good adhesive since I saw nothing obvious holding it to the midframe), but I didn't see any corrosion issues externally.
I know this phone is old and a new one has been ordered, but I just want to get some pictures off of it before it becomes trash. I can only get it to turn on to the logo screen and then it goes off. It won't charge, but will show the led from time to time blinking red and the battery icon on the screen and then it disappears. I can get to the bootloader screen, but it's locked so I can't do anything. Any suggestions/help? Please?!

It's not clear to me exactly what your issue is (don't have 1+) but does sound like charging issue, might just be usb connector (damaged/dirty) or more problematicly the battery or battery charging circuitry. A usb connector with debris in should be easier fix.
If you have some electrical knowledge (or take to repair shop & they can do it) you should be able to overcome phone not charging by opening phone up to either charge battery via accessing back of usb connector/pcb/pwb or connect another battery. (Be careful playing with electricity & charges )
Note: if the battery has been run down too far by you keep turning it on then the battery will not charge normally again as it needs some residual charge in it to become charged (ie when your phone shows zero charge really the battery retains a few % otherwise it's impossible to recharge, though a special charger can supply a high charge initially to bring them back to life sometimes, but you probably need a battery specialist for that, so much easier to swap battery)
if it's soft brick then that is a whole different story.
I'm not electrically inclined, so I'll likely take it to a local shop. Thanks for your response.
Hi guys,
I had to change both display incl. frame and battery because a barbell fell on my Mi9. This bent the phone at the place of the battery and completely destroyed the display.
I was able to repair the phone quickly, but unfortunatly I did not glue the new battery. Now I was mountain biking and due to the vibrations the battery was torn from the mainboard and parts of the battery cable got stuck in the connector. I had these parts removed carefully by a watchmaker and he assured me that the connerctor looks undamaged.
But now I have the problem that the phone won't start when I insert the old (minimally) bent battery. It does not respond to any input. Only when I charge it, the LED is blinking slowly and the MI Start logo appears for 1/4 second. This process is repeated continuously. The battery also warms up slightly, showing me that it is being charged and that the connection is basically established.
Can you detect a defect on the board by this error description or is this a "typical" battery problem? Or does this error description look familiar to you otherwise?
Thanks for all suggestions,
Mike
Well I'd say that will be a hard problem to diagnose without knowing what to look for, and I definitely don't know but what I'd suggest so you can rule out the battery problem is to try a different battery in the phone and see if you get the same response. If it works happy days problem solved. If not it is more than likely a main board problem or charging connector.
My battery must have swelled up at some point so I decided to change it. It was pushing the back off my phone and wireless charging would not work. Otherwise I would have left it alone but now my front camera doesn't work. I triple checked all the connections and did a factory reset. No go. The camera works on other apps like Snapchat but it's b&w only. It looks like it's night vision and it if you cover the sensor to the right of the ear speaker it dims like you turned off a flashlight.
Any suggestions ?
I'm ordering parts but not sure if that will fix it. (It's the camera and sensor's)
I had my 4xl battery fixed from Ubreakiit and they had to replace a bunch of the device itself.
A swelled Li is a battery failure. Replace immediately a the first sign of swelling.
Once a Li gets below 80% of its original capacity it is more likely to fail, replace it.
Other signs of a battery failure are a sudden change in capacity, any cover or display bulging, and/or erratic fast charging.
A failed Li can take out the display (it normally sits right on it) even the whole phone especially if you suffer a thermal runaway. The tolerances are tight so there's very little room for expansion without pressing on critical components.
Make sure you get the correct parts for that model variant. Carrier phones can use different components that are incompatible with other variants of that same model.
