[Q] Pinkish-red tint on the vertical edges of the display. - Nokia 8 Questions & Answers

So I noticed after the Oreo update that there's a pinkish-red tint on the vertical edges of the display. For example when I'm using a dark theme on Gboard or incognito mode in chrome, I see this tint on the edges, on the dark gray interface of the app. Anyone else has this issue?

Nope i don't have that problem

P9 display problem

Hi guys I just received my new Huawei p9, and the display is pretty strange. If I look very carefully looking from top to the bottom, in vertical position, I cand observe some very thin lines, transparent, on whit background. Is anyone having this? Is this an issue? I mean very very thin lines, like fingerprint lines but parallel and all across the screen.

I can`t because they are too thin.maybe thinner than fingerprint ones, but straight and parallel.look carefuly and if you have this problem you will see them.put your phone on a table, straight upward, and look down at the display

does cornerfly show popup ads? I've tried a few of the apps that add rounded corners but after awhile I noticed they had popup ads which were really annoying. if not I would've continued using them.
There's an app called EDGE MASK that does round the corner too and it is totally free (no pop up ads on homescreen)
Dear Poster,
please provide link if possible. thank you very much

changing colour of notification panel

I'm using nova launcher and the android O black theme, is there any way to make the notifications panel black as well? I'm not rooted
only possible with custom samsung themes. for example Coffee theme
A mixture of Samsung themes and substratum / pitch black.
Or just a simple layer, Substratum still can't theme the notification panel dark.

I've talked to the dev of Swift dark and he says not yet on unrooted devices, maybe soon. Even with substratum the notification panel is white. I know it's dark but I prefer it over a glaring white screen.

Did you reboot after installing the apk? Right now there is no white text on a dark background for the notification panel with layers or substratum. What I posted is the original!

Note 8 bug?

Hi i have an note 8 SM-N950U ( T-Mobile ) and the icons on the top are small, and the bottom part is like pushed, it feels kinda small and weird, i hope the images are clear
Icons small on the wifi-bar
I think the resolution is wrong somehow.
Any Fix?
First image is the bottom one, right above the square, the line in black

Have you checked your DPI settings under Developer Options? It should be 360 default . Also check your font size etc.

Somehow i changed it to 360 and stays the same, you see the first image with black part ? under the square?, in my view it feels like the screen is not full completed, that's why i said the icons are small

See the pictures where i did that ? , the screen misses a place there causing the icons on the nav bar getting smaller.
It doensn't burn in the eyesight

Download Screen Tester from the app store then use the GRAY #8080 screen then take a pic please. That tests the screen unifromity etc so will show better.
See this picture with higher quality, you know that i mean right ? https://imgur.com/a/KW18Y , this black line, you know see it ? without blue line : https://imgur.com/a/vbOb0
https://imgur.com/83YNyg8 i believe the image is now good to see the black line. not a part of the screen.

You mean simalar to the screen being fitted a bit too high. I think I understand. Mine is a bit too low. on the gray 8080 using Display tester I think the top of my screen is a bit too low, yours seems to be opposite of mine perhaps.

I downloaded Display Tester on mine using gray #8080 and noticed perhaps the top part of my screen is similar to the bottom of your screen. So mine is probably opposite of yours. Probably the glass black seal or whatever they use is slightly up on yours and down on mine.

Nope, don't have this issue at all. But perhaps you could take a picture of it vs a screenshot so you can show people what to look for. Since not everyone would be able to figure out what you're talking about.

Ah, that has to do with the launcher itsself and is not a hardware issue. Google did something similar with the Pixel 2 launcher making everything look washed out. If you need convincing keep dark mode on and load an image and you won't see those lines there.

Yes, using Nova I don't see it. Pixel Launcher I do see some horizontal lines at the top.
Also if there were a hardware issue, taking a screenshot would not help show anything.
