I now have a dot matrix glass screen protector fits well sensitivity is good.
However it's highly reflective and shows every finger print yes it's easy to clean. But it's Really taking the enjoyment out of this phone.. I've tried film and plastic all have pros and cons..
I would luv to take it off but I live near a beach and I understand 1 grain of sand could ruin the screen... Any suggestions would be appreciated thanks
I think you will find it's all down to the quality of the protector, and the amount of TLC you give it. Many of the cheap protectors have little or no oleophobic coating, with the more premium protectors having the customary "slick" feel to them. This can be protected/topped-up by using various polishes and cleaners that are available.
Be careful about sand and dust getting under your for matrix tempered glass screen protector (TGSP). I bought my Note 8 used, and the previous owner had a TGSP on it since day one. Dust had began to leak in, including a piece of dust in the very center. When I took that TGSP off to install a wet install soft screen protector, I noticed that piece of dust in the middle had actually etched a spot into the glass on the screen. It's very small, and not really noticeable, but it's there. And it was caused by the one thing that was supposed to protect my screen.
whitestone is awesome, slick and doesnt leave fingerprints unless sweaty or greasy hands
My whitestone has a pretty good coating to prevent smudges and fingerprints. I have other qualms about it like bubbling and whatnot, but the coating and smoothness is better than the other tempered glass protectors I've used.
Using nilkin 3d cp+ tempered glass. Its been a month and bo glue issues.. Perfect sensitvity..and also it has very nice oleophobic coating..finaly a erfect glass protector...

Eventually the oleophobic coating wears off the screen protector it will start attracting fingerprints like a magnet.
Yes ice, all oleopfobic coatings, including the one on the screen itself wears off with time, no matter what
I am using Nano Optics Tempered Glass Screen Guard with UV Light, Glue.
It is way better. 3D bend at edges and good touch sensitivity.
Good oleophophic coating.
U can try this

Does anyone use a tempered glass? Because of the curved edges I suppose that a tempered glass will not cover the hole screen and might look ugly. I currently have a simple screen protector that looks fine, but I am thinking of buying a Nillkin tempered glass like e.g the one in the link http://m.ebay.com/itm/HOT-NILLKIN-9...en-For-HUAWEI-MATE-S-/262097328806?nav=SEARCH
In general I am satisfied with the quality of this brand. Any other suggestions?

have you tried this one yourself? how does it fit? so far all the ones i have tried are too small i would like it to fit nearer the edges so it is not so obvious.
has anyone been able to find one that fits very close to the edges.
There's now some companies making Tempered Glass specifically for curved edges like iPhone 6/s, Galaxy etc etc.
The trick is apply silicone on the edges of the tempered Glass.
But i havenĀ“t found for Mate S yet...
has anyone found a tempered glass that fits correctly and does not leave too much of a gap at the edges and most of all reduces fingerprints on this thing?
My best fitment guess would be nillkin tempered h+pro. I just ordered it to my phone its ultra thin and it really protects screen from shattering if you drop (hand to floor). I have owned that protector on my Nexus5, G3 and G4 and i really love it.

Replying to my own post nillkin protectors leave huge gap betweeen edges and protector dont buy if you want sleek look!!
The note 4 glass fits pretty good

Anyone out there have an ultra thin case? I prefer these as it doesnt add much bulk to the phone. Whats the thinnest one available but not flush with the screen so if falls flat, the screen doesnt break.
I have a Nillkin Nature, and its pretty compact with a good grip.

Its good but you have to make sure to get the screen protectors that leave a little bit of room around the edges of the screen or the case will just push the screen protector off haha.
It is a damn good case and you can also just file off the edges to make room for the larger screen protectors like I did.
I agree with you.

Generic Chinese ones. Always the best. Mostly because this is a phone primarily for the Chinese market so they have the best accessories for it.
Get them on Ali express. If they don't have black at the tip and bottom they should be the smaller sized ones.
Unfortunately cheap means inaccurate and you have to buy white edge remover which is a liquid you can fill the edges of the screen protector so you don't have air in between the sides of the screen and the protector. Works fine and you can get 10 bags for like $2.
Screen protector will be like $1-2 or less if you get in bulk.
Get a case with edges to protect the screen.
If the fall has enough force to break the screen protector the screen itself won't last no matter how strong or expensive the protector was.
Case is the primary defence and the glass screen protectors protect from scratches and feels nicer than plastic film.

I have a Nillkin Nature soft cover, and a Nillkin H+Pro Anti-Explosion Tempered Glass screen protector.
That being said, does anyone know and recommend a good tempered glass that covers the full front and edges ?
I ordered this type.. Will come a week or two..

Aixuan is great... 6.55$ on Aliexpress,

Used the bundled case for a couple of days, realised its just a scratch proof cover, no impact protection.
Ordered a Spigen bumper case and wet application Spigen film, somehow was not satisfied with the protection it offered.
Nothing happened to the phone after a 3' drop, the Spigen case worked well and the film felt a bit flimsy.
Looking out for a full case; then found this on Amazon
"SUPCASE Full-body Rugged Holster Case with Built-in Screen Protector for Galaxy Note 8 (2017 Release), Unicorn Beetle Shield Series"
Covers the phone completely, and has a plastic film screen protector. Impact protection is awesome, but the screen response with the film deteriorates.
Popped out the plastic film,& installed a tempered glass screen protector. The cover matches up well with the glass screen protector.
"SUPCASE Galaxy Note 8 Screen Protector, Premium Edge-to-Edge Full Coverage Tempered Glass Screen Protector"
Installation of both is a breeze, both over in 30 mins. Ofcourse, the sensitivity of the screen reduces slightly, esp on the curved edge and when u have dry fingers. Better than cracked screen/back, i have magic fingers, make me drop almost everything I hold!!!
Used it for about a month, adds bulk n weight to the device, then, I have big hands & this feels good to hold.
And the wireless charging works perfectly, and the stylus helps when fingers give up!
Product link pls.

Am not allowed to post links However, have posted the full description of product from Amazon, so easy to search.
Update:
The tempered glass broke when i was replacing the SIM, ordered a new 1. The installation was a breeze, seems to adhere better to the screen, very less loss in sensitivity... Quality variation in production or Spigen really improved their glass shape, or both?
Anyone removed the screen protector?
I think someone told me that it's not recommended.
But why's that?
Sent from my VTR-L29 using Tapatalk
I did, because I wanted to try another screen protector. Tried two, neither of them fitted well, so I removed them. The 'naked' screen is fine, but it has no oleophobic coating, so it gets smudgy quite fast. I decided to add a 'nanofluid' liquid protector, which works reasonably well for me. I dropped my P10 a few times from 1 m or so, without damage.

Thank you...:good:
I removed the protector 5 days after I got the phone. The main reason was the ugly border of unprotected screen. After using a full covering glass screen protector for one year, I removed it.
I have two little scratches on the right edge of the display glass. This was unprotected with the stock protector and I don't know if this happened with this protector or without any protector.
I'm using the original flip case btw.
The fluid protectors are crap, they can just increase the hardness of the screen. Huawei used Gorilla glass 5 which is very hard. It should not break instantly when the phone falls on the floor.
Metal and ceramic won't have a chance to scratch it, because the glass has more hardness than metal or ceramic.
But you'll get scratches by tiny dust particles even with gorilla glass 5, because dust can contain some small quartzite and other very hard particles. This particles have more hardness than the glass and can damage it. The fluid protector is so thin that the scratches by dust particles will scratch the display glass, too. So you will not see any differences when using the protector - only if it works oleophobic.

because I already checked how is ceramic protector on youtubes and a lot of reviews on aliexpress from differents phones, it is really better than both hydrogel and tempered glass.

How are ceramic any different? Cuz I doubt they use actual ceramic. It's either plastic or glass, and plastic doesn't protect your phone from falls
Yeah, there's no much info on ceramic, apart from sellers. Someone complained that tempered glass is rubbish because it cracks [emoji2357] That's the whole point. If you drop your phone tempered glass will save your screen. Plastic is only good against minor scratches.
If there are any decent tests/review of ceramic screens please post links. I would love to see how it compares against tempered glass
Sent from my M2007J20CG using Tapatalk
Just plastic with ceramic coating*(or Nano-Ceramic Coating)
lt is hydrophobic, which is a fancy way of saying it repels water.*This means dirt will have a more difficult time bonding to your screen, and can be removed with less effort.

Today I received my ceramic screen covers, they feel great and are way better than tempered glass, but are cut like crap so a lot of screen is covered. Thank God I didn't remove the original screen cover so I can still use it!

Bought this one. Still waiting for delivery.
It's been barely a week since I bought the phone and the plastic screen protector already has some scratches (with very light use!) should I took it off when applying a new screen protector or leave it as is?
Also what's the possibility of one of those scratches on the plastic protector scratching the actual screen? it could be possible?
using matte finish protector. no fingerprint etc on screen. bought at 2$ from local store
Tempered Glass
Every glass for the 9, 9s 9pro fits.
tempered Glass for the Samsung galaxy a 21s fits as well tho - In my opinion even better, because there is no cutout for the punchhole camera and therefore no possibility to catch some dust.
Bought a matte ceramic protector and it's frosted and very noticeably dulls the sharpness of the screen. I do like the matte feeling though, feels nice and my skin oils glides across it quite easily. It glued on much better than tempered glass screen protectors I bought in the past. Don't see any bubbles. Emphasis on the frost that causes very noticeable screen dullness though. Just for that, I do not recommend it. Good thing I ordered normal tempered glass together with it.
I have bought a Matte ceramic Screen Protector from Aliexpress and the Nillkin XD CP+ Max tempered Glass.
both have black edges which protrude slightly into the display and are really edge to edge display protectors.
The Ceramic one covers a little more of the Display then the nillkin glas.
Ceramic
https://imgur.com/EHQ3NAX
Nillkin XD CP+ Max
https://imgur.com/TiNPYo7
The Ceramic one feels a little bit different, but nice. For myself i prefer the feel of glass what goes for the nillkin.
The touch input is also a little better on the nillkin
A big minus point is, that at Sunlight the Matte Ceramic is much darker then the nillkin glass.
Overall i think both are good screenprotectors, the look of the matte is really nice but but at the expense of a slightly worse touch and display brightness.
