Despite note 7 issues, we remained loyal to the note family. We even paid a thousand dollars for this phone. We must be able to do whatever we want with this phone.
Thanks

Also consider submitting this as news to the tech blogs. I did some time ago, perhaps more submitions might get one of them to pick it up. Once one does usually the rest will. In your submition you might note the large number of views and posts on the OEM unlock thread which might help get their attention.

[Q] Dev phone worth buying?

Hi, dear developers, did you all buy the dev phones from google? will the price cheaper buying it this way?
And since recently the Nexus One is rumored to be the next dev phone, I'd like to know if you guys can purchase it from google now? And what is (would be) the price if it's available?
Price is 529, and it is the next dev phone and yes you can purchase it now.
Thanks a lot for the information.
What is your feeling for this phone? Seems it's not as competitive as the newer phones right now. In the last one or two months there are so many new android phones out.
If you want to make Froyo rom or apps for Froyo, is it a good fit?
Anything is possible, it's up to you, your choice. It's up to you if you're willing to put 529 for it, but a lot of developers do have this phone, just look at the Nexus section here. But I won't pay 500 bucks for something I can't see before buying (that's whole another story). And the N1 will be the first to get any new Android updates in the future, cause it's Google's baby. It's up to you now.
The "dev" phone is an unlocked nexus 1, nothing more nothing less. The last dev phone was the Ion/G1. Do you want a nexus 1? Do you have $529 to waste on a phone that you dont really need to use as a dev phone?
Simple questions to ask yourself.
The "dev phone" is a regular, bone stock, GN1. No difference. Bootloader IS LOCKED exactly the same as it always was, and it still accepts "fastboot oem unlock". Note that the warranty details DO NOT in ANY WAY suggest that doing so will affect the warranty IN ANY WAY WHATSOEVER, which some people MISTAKENLY thought was previously part of the warranty, where it was actually just in the FAQ designed to prevent dummies from screwing themselves up.

How Much Would You Pay 2 Unlock Bootloader

Original Thread is here>>>
http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-s5/general/verizon-wireless-developer-program-t2853345
This is for any Verizon device, not just the Samsung Galaxy S5. Please spread this to other device forums!
Recently, I came up with an idea of a developer program. What this program would do is allow people to pay a fee to have their bootloaders unlocked, regardless of the device. This would allow people the freedom to modify their device or develop for it without any issues. I did a little research and could not find anything similar to this (besides developer edition devices). So, with this idea in mind, I sent an email to the Executive VP of Verizon. Twenty minutes later, I received a phone call from his office. Long story short (there was a lot of talk about rooting and unlocking), the guy who called me put my idea through to marketing. However, since only about 1% of customers root their devices, there is concern of the interest in this.
What this thread is for is to see how many people would be interested in this program.
What would you be willing to pay to customer service to have your bootloader unlocked?
$0
$5
$25
$50
$100
Please use only one of those five prices, and no other prices.

Just so everyone knows the Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act prevents someone from totally VOIDING a warranty. Verizon/Samsung could only deny to warranty something if they can prove something you did cause the issue. Anything that has nothing to do with what you did still has to be under warranty. If you LCD started to lose color or get dead pixels that would still have to be covered because that has nothing to do with bootloaders and flashing ROMS.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnuso...s_Warranty_Act
"The federal minimum standards for full warranties are waived if the warrantor can show that the problem associated with a warranted consumer product was caused by damage while in the possession of the consumer, or by unreasonable use, including a failure to provide reasonable and necessary maintenance."
I learned about this when I was going to get my truck lifted. I was told if I did it would VOID my truck's warranty. After looking into it further it didn't actually VOID anything. But for example if I went in to get my suspension fixed because it broke they could argue that the lift kit put stress on the suspension and that's why it failed so they would not have to cover it. But if my motor exploded because it was made out of cheese it would still be under warranty, the entire warranty can never be voided. Only damage caused by what you did. Food for thought guys.
If anyone has anything to add please do.
Here is the email of the VP I emailed if you want to email him about the developer program. Again, thank you @shootind5nukes for this idea.

IF YOU DO EMAIL HIM, BE POLITE AND RESPECTFUL PLEASE.
I wouldn't pay anything to unlock my Verizon device bootloader... because I don't have Verizon... no one on this forum has Verizon.
The VP of Verizon has no say about the ATT bootloader unlock, anyway, lol
Just an FYI

I know it's Verizon, I just thought it was interesting and brings ideas. It's just a question but if they see it, maybe things can change. Like HTCs website where you have an unlock option. Anything is possible.

This is exactly the point. For HTC, they provide a FREE way to unlock the bootloader. For my old Galaxy S3, it was FREE, for my N5, N4, Infuse 4G, N7/N7(2013) all FREE methods of unlocking the bootloader. Why would I pay anymore on this phone instead of just selling it for another phone that has a FREE method of unlocking.
I'll take all responsibility and understand that Samsung/AT&T will take no blame in the event that I brick my device, because I'm not an idiot and have and understanding of basic instructions. In reality, that's all it takes. An official release with step-by-step instructions, with a disclaimer that you are voiding your own warranty and they take no responsibility, which is exactly what HTC did;
It is our responsibility to caution you that not all claims resulting or caused by or from the unlocking of the bootloader may be covered under warranty.
We strongly suggest that you do not unlock the bootloader unless you are confident that you understand the risks involved.

It is literally that easy.
Ok, Way back "When", Android was only a dream the whole idea behind it was that it is "Open Source" based off of unix/linux. Meaning anyone can contribute to, modify code, build kernels etc. etc. THis is still the case anyone can still do all these things whether or not you have a locked bootloader. Bootloaders are proprietary code not Open Source, neither are the Carrier provided APPs.
So what this boils down to is the carriers aren't violating any laws or regulations by locking the bootloader. So what this amounts to is the it is up to the manufacturer to unlock the BL and up to the Carrier to allow the open source access to their APPs.
We all at times seem to forget that it is not ATT, Verizon or any other carrier that is locking the BL it is the MFG, now granted 99% of the timeit is at the request of the Carrier, it's all part of doing business. It's not the carrier who provides the means to unlock the BL it is the MFG that does so, Yelling at ATT, Verizon or any other carrier is fruitless.
all things being equal - I wouldn't pay anything it really isnt that important to me (Notice I said ME).
$25 for sure. Great idea and hopefully this gets passed soon!

AT&T Unlock Bootloader petitions

Petitions to unlock bootloader on the AT&T Samsung Galaxy s5
I'd like to have control over my phone because I paid a lot of money for it. I'd like to install a cleaner/faster ROM without all of the bloatware that comes stock. Android is an OPEN SOURCE mobile operating system, we should not be locked down from improving the quality of our smartphones. I have found some petitions that put effort into making it possible to give us our right to have our bootloaders unlocked.
Advantages of an unlocked bootloader:
# Developers will make a wide selection of custom ROMS and Kernels that will improve the speed of the phone, these can't be installed until our bootloader is unlocked.
# Rooting the phone will become a lot easier.
# With root access we can overclock our CPU to make the phone faster.
Disadvantage to an unlocked bootloader:
# IF you don't follow instructions to flashing correctly you can permanently brick your device. This is not a problem if you know what you're doing and/or follow directions very carefully.

You're probably right, but just putting in an effort here. I'm hoping that the FCC finds this similar to carrier locking, they changed the laws for carrier locking because of petitions: http://www.fcc.gov/device-unlocking-faq

I wouldn't expect one. I've complained on their page multiple times and the only thing that came of it was getting blocked.
There's not enough demand for anyone to put any effort into freeing our bootloader. These petitions have been up for months and haven't reached the minimum requirements. Just get used to TW ROMs or don't support either AT&T or Samsung with the next phone you get and go the Stock Android path.

I'm merely going to point this out, Complaining to ATT for a tool to unlock the bootloader is the wrong place to complain, it is HTC that provides the way to unlock the BL you would need to post that complaint on the Samsung webpage or facebook page

AT&T won't provide a tool for the unlocking but I'm quite confident they are the ones that asked for it as other network providers offer unlocked phones. I believe the S5 from T-Mobile is unlocked and the international is unlocked. A complaint to Samsung might push them to play hardball with AT&T like HTC and I believe Motorola have so really complaining to both is the best route. I hold out little hope for a change in stance but maybe the pummeling by Apple will help change minds.

Should I return it?

Greets!
I lept before I looked and bought a G4 to replace my iPhone 6 and after some research, LG has a stick up their arse and is claiming they will never support unlocking the bootloader on the H811:
"Unfortunately, we have no plan to support bootloader unlock in previously launched models including H811 (T-Mobile) and H815 USA version."
http://goo.gl/ZpnLW5
**EDIT** I authored the post after a string of very unsatisfactory events with T-Mobile regarding the purchase. See my reddit post here. Please consider this before you make a return/exchange decision.
I WAS going to get a Nexus 6 to skip the noise (as a long time Nexus 4 user previously) but.. but.. the G4 seems so much sexier in a way.
I'm not the biggest fan of iOS myself however, I've learned to live with it after working at Applecare for some years.. At least there is a 8.4 jailbreak.
Thankfully, I have a perfect excuse to return the G4 without a restocking fee (their cash register locked up and they couldn't provide a receipt NOR could phone support OR EVEN retail support), I'll simply state that without a receipt - I could not participate in the G4 promotion for free batteries, SD card, etc. (Watch next they won't be able to process a return at all or something, my luck).
Regardless of reason, It'll be a huge regret to hang on to the G4 if I have to put up with T-Mo's Bloatware long term - rootability was the only reason I switched back from the dark side. No one can see the future - but dear XDA fellows, is there any hope for a workaround without LG's grace to unlock the bootloader or should I simply return it and keep using my perfectly working iPhone for now?

Just got mine today and will be very disappointed if there is no way to unlock bootloader. I took for granted that it would be able to be done. May return now....
Really considering returning for this issue as well. I jumped from the S6, and may jump back. Still undecided.
Just because LG does not officially support an unlocked bootloader does not mean anything. Of all the devices that have bootloaders that are unlocked on this site, do you know how many of them came right from the device manufacturer?
I mean, you can do what you want as it is your device and your life, but ALL of our devs ALREADY have Root Access (just working on a safe method before it is released to the rest of the G4 community) and I am pretty sure bootloader will follow pretty close behind that, and even if not with just Root Access you can still do SO many great things that at that point the locked bootloader kind of ceases to be a big deal anyway.
......But again, do what you want and all that.

You have assuaged my concerns........for now
I appreciate the reassurance. I authored the post after a string of very unsatisfactory events with T-Mobile regarding the purchase. See my reddit post here. EDIT, what the heck - the subreddit went private literally the second after posting the link.
Basically put, the POS crashed after swiping my card and they just can't furnish a receipt. Not the store, not customer service, not retail support and I stood around with $400+ missing from my bank account while they debated if they'd let me leave the store with the phone. Well that and I now miss out on absolutely every promo deal offered.. Of course, they absolutely refuse to waive the restocking fee (but I did get an account credit).
I apologize if anyway my post was perceived as a whiny, spoiled brat - complaining at a lack of root/bootloader. The story went much deeper than that and I didn't take a moment to calm myself before posting (or explain myself fully at that).
All in all, I just gave up and stopped caring and will keep the G4. The iPhone is on eBay - good riddance and I'll spend this time getting used to Android again after working at the Jobs Mob for the last 3 years.
I'm going to get the nexus 6... S6 is to small for me.... This phone will take months to see an unlock bootloader and than months to see aosp.... G3 was different cause it came unlocked
I will say that it always amazes me how people expect unlock and root and AOSP to be out within a few days of a device release. Seriously...these devices are much more difficult to root and unlock than those from a year or two or three ago. Processor tech as well as addition of selinux has made this both more tricky and time consuming to develop. On top of that, they have SOO many more added hardware sensors and gadgets that AOSP takes more time to debug to get a proper build out.
Root/Unlock is in the works...as is AOSP....I know of one AOSP based dev working on the device tree now.
Personally, I think it is always a mistake to buy something if you don't at least love it as it comes out of the box.
*Edit: Regarding OP's issues with the sales process, that just sucks bro. I'd be royally P***ed at that.

No worries buddy. I completely understand your frustration based on the entirety of your situation and I do not fault you for being upset/aggravated in the least.
I also did not take your post as you being "whiny" or anything of the sort either, Your concerns are essentially the same ones all of us had the first couple of days (or at least a lot of us did, myself included). I just happened to have already put in enough time with the G4 to be able to know that it is still a rock solid device even in its stock form.....and since we are all but guaranteed to have a public Root method at this point, one day it is just going to end up being that much better.
So rest assured you made a great decision by keeping the G4 (especially over an iPhone) and it will not disappoint.
.......If you have any other questions or concerns about our device I am only a couple clicks away and would be more than happy to answer any questions that I can for ya......Now stop reading this and go play with that damn phone, lol.

Haven't done much searching, have you? jcase has posted MANY times on xda about it and has released a number of videos on youtube proving he has his phones rooted. autoprime has as well. Then, 2 days ago, thecubed announced they're working on it and are making progress.
Funny how you feel there should be a "timeframe" where thing should/must be done on a phone. Nothing like having some patience.
So, let me ask you this...would you rather they work on it and make a proper, safe release of unlock and root, or hurry it and potentially leave you with a brick?

Nothing like wanting someone to do you a favor and trying to tell them they are not doing it fast enough, eh.
.....I understand people be excited (as I am sure this guy is/was) but NEVER should you put the safety of your device (or EVERYONE on XDA for that matter) as a second class priority just because you want your Root Access now.
Also unless you are posted up in the Root Bounty thread (and actually pay out) then you really have no right to complain about anything as you are just basically trying to ride someone else's coat-tails and benefit from other people putting their devices and hard earned money up to show their respect and appreciation to our devs.

Now that I have actually used the G4 for awhile, I'm satisfied with it. The most apparent annoyance so far is some noticeable lag when carrying out tasks/app switching. I'm happy my generic OBD scanner pairs just fine (dtto on iOS) and I'm back to using aCar and other apps I've been missing.

Note 8 Hardware of Software failure? Please help me

I recently bought a used Note 8, the previous owner sold it as "failed motherboard, for parts". Its a N9500 Hong Kong version with Snapdragon chipset with this CSC: N9500ZHS4CRK1_N9500ZZH4CRK1_TGY
The phone turns on but boot-loops. Sometimes it gets into Android and when it does all SYSTEM apps "keep closing" such as Play Store, Google, Camera, Settings, everything, I can't even remember all their names. All apps keep closing. After massive app closure, the phone enters boot-loop again.
So obviously, I entered recovery mode, wiped cache, wiped factory data, there are no accounts on this phone and it is NOT FRP locked. After wiped, the phone behaves exactly the same and it took a lot of bootloops to get through the welcome configuration screen, next next bootloop, next next skip next bootloop and so on.
I then opened up the phone (which was never opened before) because I suspected a faulty battery, I wasted more money on purchasing a new battery, I replaced the battery but it behaves exactly the same.
I then reflashed the same N9500ZHS4CRK1_N9500ZZH4CRK1_TGY soft in ODIN which was downloaded from sammobile.com and guess what, it behaves the same.
I reflashed a newer version N9500ZHS4CRL1_N9500ZZH4CRL1_TGY in ODIN but again it behaves the same.
Now in recovery mode I just recently noticed this:
#fail top open recovery_cause(No such file or directory)#
#Reboot Recovery_Cause is [UNKNOWN]#
No Support SINGLE-SKU
File-Based OTA
Support API: 3
dm-verity verification failed...
After researching what this error means I discovered that it may have something to do with phone rooting!? Now since this phone wasn't mine I have no idea what the previous owner did to it so I entered download mode again to see the status of KNOX and guess what, it says:
RPMB fuse blown
RPMB PROVISIONED
CURRENT BINARY: Samsung Official
SYSTEM STATUS: Official
FRP LOCK: OFF
CROM SERVICE: ON
WARRANTY VOID: 0x0
QUALCOMM SECUREboot: ENABLE
RP SWREV: B4(2,1,1,1,1) K1 S1
SECURE DOWNLOAD: ENABLE
DID: 205EE0EE92FD
So WARRANTY VOID: 0x0 as far as I know means that everything is official? I don't know if you can actually root the phone without triggering Knox which should then read 0x1
I also find this RPMB fuse blown suspicious which I have no idea what it means.
So can anyone help me??? Is my problem just software? What can I do??? Or is the motherboard simply dead and gone and requires replacement? Motherboards for Note 8 are extremely expensive so I hope the motherboard isn't dead.......
All the best
As far as i understand, ur problem should be software only.... Try flashing twrp in download mode and then root and then custom ROM....all this if the phone is out of warranty. And i hope oem unlock is toggled.... Knox 0x0 means not rooted previously.....try it out and share what happened

Is there no other way? I would prefer not to root my phone and install custom ROM, I would prefer to have an official ROM... also if it has everything stock, official, why is it doing this? Why is it bootlooping? Anyway if there is no other way then please provide me with a perfectly functional custom ROM which I should install. I need to mention that my phone is DUOS (DUAL SIM) if that matters. The phone doesn't have any warranty, like I said I bought it used, second hand. Additionally its from Hong Kong while Im from Europe and the previous owner told me that Samsung told him that they won't fix his phone because its from another region... BS if you ask me but whatever! Additionally to make things worse, like I said I disassembled it to replace its battery so definitely no warranty here.
I will return and keep you updated, no worries. Thank you very much for your help!
Best way to find out is to flash the firmware specific to ur device.... Try the pie firmware.... And make sure its specific to ur device.... Maybe try a diff csc.... Also flash bootloader separately and then try to boot...i had the same problem once with an older device... That helped... Make sure u know what u e doing before going for anything.... But since that device is already dead...u can try...no harm... Keep it charged...

This is the exact model I have: https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-note8/SM-N9500/TGY/
Please give me a link to what I should install. Different CSC, bootloader, anything you think I should install. I don't wanna make a mistake and brick it even more than this... Thanks
RPMB fuse blown is normal. That's how they all come from factory.

I have read your post and have no solution. My guess is your flash memory is bad, and you can't fix that.
Your best bet is to probably buy a working Note 9 with a broken screen for cheap. Swap motherboards. The back glass should have the IMEI on it, so keep the right back glass with the right motherboard.
Put both phones back together. Keep the working one, and sell the other one for parts.

Jesus Christ Samsung is becoming the worst brand in the world. First exploding Note 7 then Note 8 with flash memory fails. I think I this is my last Samsung EVER. My next phone will definitely be Nokia 9. I didn't had the chance to test Nokia out since they relaunched with Android and they seem like really well built phones.
Anyway until then, soyuz4u seems to have a solution for me so I will like to try out what he is proposing before giving up.

EVERY company has some faulty devices. It's electronics. They fail. My guess is the failure rate of the flash memory (if that's what it actually is), is minute. Just because YOUR decide failed doesn't mean Samsung as a whole is a bad company or make bad devices. You bought a device that you knew was out of warranty and had previous problems without knowing the history of it. To be blunt, that's your fault, not Samsung's.
Honestly, they handled the Note 7 issue as well as could be expected. They did everything they could to fix it and then finally issue refunds and incentives to owners.
But I'm sure Nokia has NEVER had a warranty claim on any device they've sold ever, so it may be a good switch for you.
Exactly. Plus OP bought a device being sold as "for parts" only, so it doesn't make sense to complain about Samsung as a whole
Guys guys this is going off the rails and totally off-topic! Anyone is entitled to their opinions, its freedom of speech, I perfectly understand this and respect your opinions just as you guys love Samsung, I have a few words of criticism for it but now please no more off-topic messages.
As a response to what you guys are saying,
1 - Why don't you come with an actual solution to the problem instead of talking about how great Samsung is? Why do you have to reply to my bottom message where I criticized Samsung but not to the first message where I ask for a solution?
and 2 - Does any of you own shares at Samsung? I've never been a brand fanboy, why would I defend a multi-trillion foreign corporation?? What would I have to gain out of it? Im not Korean, it doesn't benefit my economy, if anything it harms my economy, as they suck billions of euros out of my country. yearly You guys are too forgiving and forgetting about the people who actually got injured by Note 7. You forgot about the infamous Note 4 and Note Edge "mmc_read fail" mass failures which also happened with S6 and S6 Edge. Millions of customers got scammed by Samsung back then. Samsung even got fined 5 million Euros in Italy because of Note 4 mass fails. There are even class action law-suits regarding Note 4.
It doesn't matter I got this Note 8 used, as is. What about the previous owner? Does it make it ok to fail in his hands? Why fail in the first place? Why would a top 1000 Euro phone become "for parts" in the first place in only a year after production?? What if I bought it new and failed in my hands?? The logic you are applying here makes no sense. I can understand this for a 100-150 Euro phone but not 1000 Euro! 1000 Euros are a lot of money, with 1000 Euros you can buy a decent car, a Renault Megane 2006-2007 for example which will last you many many years so spending 1000 Euros on a phone to fail after just 1 year is ok? Anyway please please no more off-topic. All I said is that I don't think I like Samsung anymore and you fanboys came at me like lions defending Samsung which is a thing I can't stand. I don't hate Samsung, if I did, I wouldn't have bought this Note 8 but Im not a fanboy and I will never be a fanboy for any corporation in this world, unless I just work for them and its my job.
Now please lets get back on topic, does anyone know how to fix this phone?

Wow. Ok, for one YOU started the off-topic conversation. Two, I'm not a brand fanboy or a share holder, nor was I defending Samaung. I have owned just about every single brand of smartphone made. I was explaining you were the one who bought a "for parts only" device then complained that it doesn't work and is out of warranty. Those are the risks you took buying it. For all you know, it wasn't a manufacturer defect, but physical damage from the previous owner. Third, I did offer a solution. Buy a working Note 8 with a broken screen and swap motherboards, then sell the other one for parts. I've done it many times on other phones.
Good luck!

I didn't start anything, all I said is that I do not like Samsung anymore and its my business what I like and don't like and I don't want anyone to convince me otherwise. I can't believe a 1000 Euro phone fails irreparably! Of course I didn't pay 1000 but the guy who I got it from did and the principle itself is what pisses me off. What if I would have been in his shoes bought it new paid 1000 then total fail and unable to fix it just after 1 year!? If this was 1 in 1 million cases, ohh ok, tough luck what can I say? But this is actually extremely common with Samsung nowadays. It all started with Note 4. Note 4 was the first major Samsung disaster. Note 3 was a jewel of Samsung, the best Note ever produced. I not once seen a Note 3 with failed board even to this day after years of use, anyway avoiding more off-topic talk, I am aware about replacing the motherboard, I even mentioned it in my first post, even the title of the thread is "hardware or software" fault. This is from the bottom of my first post "So can anyone help me??? Is my problem just software? What can I do??? Or is the motherboard simply dead and gone and requires replacement? Motherboards for Note 8 are extremely expensive so I hope the motherboard isn't dead......."
Also the phone does not have any kind of physical damage whatsoever, it doesn't even have water damage, like I said in my first post, I disassembled the phone to replace its battery and it was sealed, never opened before, clean and no nicks and dents on its frame. Its like brand new.

Let me explain this:
You started a thread asking if your issue was hardware or software. You got some ideas and suggestions from people, including me. That's all ON TOPIC.
Then YOU went off on a tangent about how crappy Samsung was, brought up the Note 7, and talked about getting a Nokia because they look high quality. That's all OFF TOPIC.
You started the off topic conversation, so I replied to it. You don't get to go off topic, give your opinion, then get mad at others for going off topic WITH YOU and say you don't want people to try to change your mind.
Again, you bought a broken phone. We told you what could possibly be wrong with it. Your opinions of Samsung's quality control had nothing to do with it. You're the one who steered the thread off course, not me.
By the way, your last comment was all entirely off topic. This thread isn't about the Note 4 or Note 3 or the cost of the Note 8. Please try to stay on topic from now on. Thank you.

Not worth arguing with some people bro because sometimes no matter what you say, it just doesn't register and they can't accept any other outcome or information except for what they've already settled on in their head..
Now, can I get some help with this phone that was sold for parts only? I swear it must be just a software problem, now you just give me the freaking answer that'll fix this parts only thing!!! J/K hahaha..

Ok its my fault for daring to criticize Samsung! You're acting as if I have something against the seller, no, wrong! VERY WRONG! I know the seller, he's a friend of mine, not a close friend but still a friend. He was awesome and I feel bad for him and what happened to his former phone.
Now let's get back on topic and please kindly ALL of you who have no clue how to deal with this error, LEAVE THE THREAD and stop spamming it with your useless posts! You clearly have no idea how to fix this yet you waste time in this thread... You said you offered help? What help? You clearly have no idea, I already said in my first post that I know how to swap boards but I would prefer to fix this board if possible.
I'm not gonna reply to any more Samsung fanboys regardless of what you have to say. You have an actual software solution to this board? Please kindly share it, otherwise, just go and don't come back. The only one who came up with actual solutions was soyuz4u. Everyone else just time wasters!
Have a nice day.

I don't care that you criticized Samsung. I truly don't. I'm not a fan boy. As soon as someone makes a better phone than the Note 9, I'm on it, no matter the brand.
I'm not blaming you for criticizing Samsung. I'm blaming you for going off topic and then getting triggered when someone replied to YOUR comment. I didn't go off topic. You're the OP, so you set the topic. You took the thread in a new direction, so I followed along, because I thought I was having a conversation with another adult.
And no one is blaming the seller. I actually never said anything about him. I was actually blaming you. You bought a broken phone, for parts, out of warranty. You don't like any of our answers or solutions, and you just want to blame Samsung for you buying a broken phone that you don't know the history of.
Instead of getting mad and offended by everything, take some responsibility.

You are the one gone off-topic. You lost focus on your own issue. And the way you DEMAND for a solution makes you look like a 5 year old child. Behave man. Be a little, just a little more coherent. If you are further past "fanboys" then don't say a word to/about them. If you are so clever, you'd be owning a multi-millionaire company in stead of buying a faulty device.
On the other hand, you should be thankful that at least someone gave you solutions to try out considering your manners.
I've owned multiple Samsung's over the past years, and Apple's devices too, between other brands. Actually I'm rocking a Note 8 since 3 months past launch day, coming from an iPhone X 256gb first hand bought in Spain that 2 months after using it the touchpad stopped working (yes, a $1200 EUR touch device stopped recognizing touches, can happen), never insulted anyone because of that, just my freaking luck. Got it repaired for free btw, but still wanted to own a Note 8.
I upgraded to Pie 2 days ago, I live in Argentina, dunno why it took this long, but nonetheless its an awesome device, never failed me nor stopped surprising me (I found early this morning the 60fps 4k UHD workarround with the awesome "lgcamera" app), and technical service is great here.
I hope you can chill, and be responsible for your own mistakes, without mistreating people who tries to help you. This is a very nice place to spend time learning and asking, let's keep it like this. I also wish you good luck on your quest to make that faulty Note 8 work again, so you can enjoy this great device's features, and if not, I hope you get yourself one that suits you.
