Hi,
I love this tablet but I hate the home physical button from Samsung[emoji16] .
Do you know any app that allows to have on screen buttons like on other Android devices?
Thanks.

You need root.
You can edit the build.prop to show the onscreen keys, add the line below:
qemu.hw.mainkeys=0
or if you install xposed there is a good app called Ultimate dynamic navbar.
Without root there are various apps that can give similar onscreen keys.

Great info. I'm going to be rooting soon so I have this question - where onscreen will the buttons show / how large an area? Thanks!
Have you tried the Assistant Menu? No need for root, just turn it on.

I tried back button app. Nice. You can place your on screen buttons anywhere.
But I can't place them Under the dock so when I use some applications or even the keyboard these buttons are on the keyboard[emoji35] ...

What is assistant menu? An app? I haven't found it on the play store.

To turn ON the built in function... Assistant Menu...
Go to... the system settings
then tap... Accessibility
Tap... Dexterity and Interaction
Tap... Assistant Menu and turn it ON
This would show a small button which you can place anywhere on the screen with multiple functions.

Ok!
I receive my tab s 2 today[emoji6] .
So I will try your tip[emoji3] .
If I could have soft buttons just under the dock (as in other Android devices except Samsung) it would be great! @ashyx, is it possible?

Ok it was just to be sure, because all I have tested, non rooted, allows me to install what I want (home button, back and recent app), BUT not below the dock ..
I mean if I use for example the keyboard the on screen keys are ON the keyboard, very annoying.
Maybe it's only with root that I can have a real navbar...

I always root my HTC , nexus devices, but never tried with Samsung.[emoji33]
Without entering in details, (I don't care void warranty), is it usually easy to root, install twrp, etc....Or there is some restrictions I should know with Samsung devices?

Probably one of the easiest thing you can do.
Go to the development section, look for my post for cf_autoroot and you'll be good to go.

Thank you guy!
I am very deceived by the lags and background apps reloads with my nexus 9,
I think this tab $2 can't be worse[emoji6] with its 3go ram and I will get it in 1 hour in a store and root it!

Heed this advice.
BEFORE you make any modifications make a FULL backup with TWRP then flash away.

Yes I always do this, thanks[emoji6] .
I was just a bit afraid because I don't know Samsung at all and I had heard in the past that Samsung devices had some very "blocked" or very hard to "relock" bootloader... But I think all this have improved and devs have found solutions now[emoji4]

Euh... Samsung is not Motorola or HTC! With download mode and Odin, you can flash all what you want and it's easy.
If you have a french version (i think), your bootloader is unlock. Only some providers lock their BL (Verizon, AT&T...).
And, if you're not sure there is a video here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/tab-s2/general/video-guide-root-samsung-galaxy-tab-s2-t3224788
It's for 5.0.2, probably your rom version.

You are right : I have a French version , 5.02, and bought on Amazon, not from any telecom provider. [emoji4]
So the situation is not complicated in my case!
Thank you for your link. This night I will have the pleasure to discover this tablet and compare it to the nexus 9[emoji4] . I will read the development section and will probably root tomorrow if I find this tablet fine.

While you're at it, do me a favor and look at my post here, and check your tab to see if you have the banding at the top and bottom like some of us. I am very curious.

Hum,
Maybe my eyes are not good enough but I didn't see these bandings on my unit.
But I noticed much more the bad calibration and over saturation of the colours on adaptive mode, photo mode ...(I am a photographer). Basic mode is the best but not perfect: the whites are a bit grey, and the "auto" contrast bothers me on some of my pics...
The nexus 9 was better for reality display, for a photographer.
But on the other points this tablet is perfect.
Any calibration tool, kernel, app exist for Samsung amoled screens guys? [emoji102]

I have a headunit in my car with Android 6.0.1 from the manufacturer KSP and I have been looking in the forum but I really do not clarify much. My intention is to activate a screensaver and a program for detection of radars so that it run immediately after starting the unit; with this I would already be happy (the unit erases the software in memory when it comes out of sleep mode). I would also like to know if there is any way by software that does not cut the sound of the radio when my car activates the Start-Stop system, the radio does not reset or restart but the sound of the radio yes, I do not understand why !!!!
I have been reading several posts about the virtues of Xposed Framawork but I do not know if there will be any other simpler method without having to resort to flashing the firm with TWRP and other utilities like that. Also I do not know if it is very compatible with Android 6.0.1 and my manufacturer all this. Thx.
Anyone know something about this???:crying:

Maybe you should look for help in the proper forums. This has nothing to do with Android Auto.

How about this one:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android-auto/android-head-units
And, before posting, read these threads:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/an...mtcb-headunit-wiki-article-knowledge-t3246239
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3246334
You will get at least a minimal knowledge of these Chinese units and maybe you will be able to ask questions that get answers.
Hey Community,
i recently got my P20 Pro in exchange for my Mi Mix 2S
The only thing i miss is the Swipe Feature, like swipe to go back, swipe from down to up to get in multitask.
I found just the Homebutton swipe feature but this doesnt feel the same :/
Is there anything i can bring this or activate this on my p20 pro?
I guess this is a new feature in general from Google since Android 8 i guess?
Please Help
Nothing?
Maybe some better Rom like miui?
Did you find anything? I really hate the long press for getting to home. Too slow.

Or, don't fiddle with the developer options, as you've stated in your own post.

But you're not using Android 8, anymore, are you? You were talking about Android 9 and so was I. Samsung removed the dual camera feature in Android 9, just like they have removed a great many other features, as well. These things are all well documented across the treads on this forum. It's nothing new.
FFS why didnt I read the CONS of the pie update...
I lost the dual camera, i lost the call recording options for what?
For Samsung UI?! Sure it looks better but.... its just UI
I loved this feature, the apk worked fine on 8. It's one feature I really miss. Does anyone know of an alternative that works well on the note 8 pie?

People need to stop being Iphone users. Back in the day, I recall they tried to remove the SD card with the S6. We didn't buy the phone.
Sales did horribly and Samsung said sure, we will put it back.
Now, everyone is flocking buying the S21, sales doing pretty good.
On top no one goes and tells Samsung on Twitter anything.
Samsung wants to make IPHONES.
That's their goal. That's why they paid millions to BTS singers just to get the fanbase.
Hi guys ,
i have a Mi 8 ( stock, not root) with Miui 10 global Version 9.5.17 and i did not see Permanent notification on bar.
Is there a possibility to see this (without use of any paid app) ? Maybe in the next updates of globa?
Mi 8 lite and Pocofone f1 already have this possibility.
thanks for the help

There is one for free, and I'm not going to share a link since it was shared on device forums before. Search before asking it. Good luck.

It's called Notch Notifications for Miui.
Get it from Playstore.
It work great once set up.
I adjusted the icons to be a bit larger and closer to the left hand edge of the screen, this can be done easily in the app.
Do it once and youre good to go.I only use the free version and it's perfect, you can also buy a version which adds a few features.
