Slider question

I've got a HTC G1 for 2 weeks ....the slider isn't to firm...when it is open or close it has a little movement sideways..does anyone encoutered this?
EDIT : Also sometimes the touch isn't calibrated ...i have to close the screen and then it works perfect...

my touch allways works fine, and my screen has allways been a bit loose in all directions, im just gona pray it dosnt break....

i thought the touch problem was the image that i've installed but i've installed the original R30 image and it has the same results..
I'm not from US or UK and I can't send the phone back to T-MObile and I don't know what to do

Touch Screen

Hi guys I've got a HTC Ignito and Id like abit of advice the touch screen on my phone seems to be acting up as u can press on the left hand side and it will detect pressure but only the top and bottom 5mm will work properly the rest it will activate what is on the opposite side or will do nothing.
when Ive tried to calibrate the screen it just constantly repeats the calibration process non stop but if you do a hard reset it will start working properly but as soon as you reset phone it messes up again.
Any one any ideas is the touch screen broken or is it another problem its got the stock rom on it
Sorry for the bad structore of post feeling abit tired as been up for hours annoyed at my phone.

I noticed a simmilliar issue starting a couple of weeks ago. Looks like the X-axis of the digitizer starts to die. In my case it only detects touches in Y direction, but not in X.
So far it only appeared under hot condition like sunlight or constantly running device in craddle. After cooling down it always came back to normal behaviour (so far)

Cheers bud for the reply. Its weird tho as its same as yours as it will detect the Y axis movemnt as when i hadnt hardrest it you could minamise the clock but that was it. Simalar problem happened to my grandads orbit and acted like urs then got progressivly worse over a few months.
I wonder if anybody knows if it would be sortedby getting a new touch screen.

Hopefully we are not the only ones... But yeah my MDA Compact (Diamond on T-Mobile UK) is doin the same thing. Like you guys, mine has staterd to get worse, before it was just a few edge icons that i could'nt press..but now sometimes pressing the screen anywhere does nothing, all i can do is scroll up or down.
Axelpix... you make a good point about temp...mine gets quite warm when charging on the USB. I will try to see if this is causing the problem.
Any info on fix would be greatly welcomed.
PS i'm running the Windows 6.5 Energy ROM. 14/07/2009

Hi guys least im not alone I think the only way to fix this problem might be to replace the touchscreen im just looking to see how much it would cost to buy a new one and if its easy to just replace the screen or if it comes attached to the lcd screen like on the orbit

Yes, I have experienced this when i switched the handset on for the first time after purchase but it went off when I forced a restart to the handset.

Hd losing screen alignament?

i have dutty's holly r0 sense 2.1. i've been using it for a while now, since it appeared, no problems. but a few days ago i noticed that the scrren alignament wasnt so good, but i didnt think it was a big deal, it was not such a big error. today i opened my phone trying to make a call and the error was of about 3 cm. i mean, to press start, i had to touch under the clock!!
and i couldnt get into any problems because the buttons in the lower side of the screen could not be pressed
i could not even make a backup of the phone
i hardresetted, but it didnt solve anything. i flashed duttys r14 and same problem, i almost thought it is dead
i flashed then an original rom, first it worked, then the error started to appear again
i did a screen alignament and now it seems to be ok?
has anyone encountered this problem before? is my hd dying?

Got the same problem here. Looks like the screen connection is buggy. its gonna have to be send in for repairs

for nintendo ds you can try cleaning the screen near borders with a teethbrush . it should be a solution! try

I had the same problem, but only after i dropped the phone on the street a few times. I hard-resert it a few times, it would work shortly then not respond or respond with 2-3cm wrong press. Cpuldnt even calibrate the screen after reset.
I sent it back to HTC under warranty, and they changed the screen, bazel, front facia and god knows what else. It was all new apart from back plastic cover.

[Q] keyboard spazzing out

has anyone else experinced there n1 keyboard sometimes just spazzing out..?
meaning you hit one letter and it either writes multiple of that letter or just writes other letters completly..
or for that matter youre trying to slide down the notification bar and nothing happens or the screen just slides to a different home screen..
ive been having that happen to me for a while and sometimes putting it to sleep and bringing it back is a quick fix, sometimes not.. any ideas and fixes?

It happens, most of us have experienced it.Likely the digitizer.
Locking/unlocking does fix it. Make sure you're on the latest version of Android too.

Yeah its a well known nexus problem. Just lock and unlock the screen fixes it. Cheap touch layer:-(

Yes I do have the latest update. Sometimes it makes me want to throw the phone. Always seems to happen when. I need the phonebthe most lol. Thank u

holy hell this is happening alot to me now.... its been doing it for the last couple of hours and im trying to text and its impossible!! even tried rebooting cm 6.0

May be dust under the screen?

Strange Touch Problem

Hello Guys i have a question if someone expirience the same problem with M7
I did flash the latest Firmware to my brother M7 and ARHD 83.1 all CLEAN flash with Wipes etc.
The problem is that the Area exactly on the TOP Statusbar is not responding on touches and doesn`t work at all.
1st i was thinking is caused by bad flashing.
I did revert back and flash 5 Diferent Firmwares one after each other in case i do miss some important drivers.... but the problem is still here.
After this i did try and Reflash the ROM again the same problem.
No matter what im Flashing the STATUS BAR do not respond on touches.
for example i can`t swipe it down to see when i have notiffications.
Also i did try the HTC TEST services and when i choice DRAWN PATERNS on the screen its the same its seems like the TOP LINE where is the Status Bar is not reponding on touches.
I don`t have IDEA whats going on.... but i start to think is hardware problem. The strange thing is that before the FLASH everything was working fine... and how is posible if the touch somehow is broken ONLY the status bar area on the top to be non working.
All other is fine and response fine on touching.
Any Ideas what i can do?
or im the 1st who have similar problem.

did you already try with another rom?

What happens when you turn the phone to landscape mode? Is it still the status bar area that has no response or is it the left or right edge that's broken, depending on how you turned the phone?

Seems like a hardware problem.
Take it in service.

Friend of mine had the same problem, most likely a hardware problem. Its odd though that the affected area is the exact size as the notification bar. Might have to send it for repairs
