Thank you for quick reply. I started compiling the files need to flashing. So far, I could do following. Please advice me whether I am on the right path or not.
1. Rooted my tab with Z4root. Now I got root permission.
2. Downloaded Odin3 v1.7.exe and s1_odin_20100803.pit for flashing
3. Downloaded Roto-JMI-Full-v2.zip and Roto-JMI-Upgrade-v2.zip
Now, using Odin PDA button, I want to flash Roto-JMI-Full-v2.zip ?
Few questions:
a) Is this correct way of flashing or I am missing something?
b) Does above flash install Recovery also ?
c) which files need for PHONE and CSC files ?
d) Which firmware best suitable for Indian Tab ?
Thank you in advance for clarifying above.
I really appreciated reply for my questions as it would allow me to move forward. I will ensure a good documentation at the end of the process for benefit of other users.

Install Adfree or something which requires root acess for installation. Once rooted download something like root explorer from market which allows you to backup the modem.bin file. Or me or somebody else can just upload the file here.
Read the post/link in the thread where you downloaded Roto's JMI rom.
Use the .pit file from Roto's link not the thing which you posted...same place where you got the same ROM file. If you are flashing first time/from another rom then use the Full v2 zip file. Else use Update v2 when flashing from one of Roto's rom.
Connect the tab to your pc, reboot and go into download mode...press power+vol down button while rebooting...a yellow triangle icon with an android digging will come up...to get out of download mode, just keep the power button pressed till it rebooted normally.
Once in download mode, open up Odin and check that the yellow com box option is on. Check repartition option to ensure everything is wiped and you have a fresh install from scratch.
For PIT select the pit file downloaded from roto's link
For PDA select the Full.tar file
For PHONE select the modem.bin file
For CSC leave it blank...
Once done, recheck and hit start.
PLEASE CHECK ROTO'S JMI V2 THREAD IN THE DEVELOPEMENT SECTION...it has a link to howto which is old but gives some idea of how to proceed...for pit, pda, phone follow as I suggested and things will go fine...

Thank you.. I will do the same let you know the status....

I followed the steps after flashing 'full' tar, it rebooted tab, started the normally. After that, I verified that, all applications , phone (GSM) and wifi working fine.
Now my question is do I really need to flash *second* tar file ? what is it for ?
^^No. It is only for people upgrading from previous versions! You are good to go!
Now, I want to install CWM recovery. Please some one can confirm below steps:
1. Make sure to have Samsung Kies installed, and your tab at least connected once, to be sure the drivers are correct.
2. Your Tab must be Rooted.
3. If you wish to do a backup, now is the time.
4. You will need an SD Card with enough free space for the filesystem conversion, and to put the Overcome ROM on before we start. (An empty 4gb should be plenty, as long as it is empty, or close too)
5. Download and Extract the following file to your computer: http://www.apksmash.com/corodius/galaxytab.zip (Contains "Odin3 v.1.7.exe" "Overcome_Kernel_v1.0")
Now, we will Install the Kernel and perform the EXT4 filesystem conversion.
1. Turn off your Galaxy Tab.
2. Turn your Galaxy Tab on into DOWNLOAD mode (Press Volume DOWN and Power On at the same time).
3. Open Odin3 v1.7.exe on your PC.
4. Connect your Galaxy Tab to your PC via the USB cable.
5. Make Sure the ID:COM box is highlighted yellow (meaning it sees your tab).
6. Click on the PDA button and select the Overcome_Kernel_v1.0.tar file you downloaded earlier (make sure PDA is ticked after selecting the file).
7. The only boxes ticked should be:
A. Auto Reboot
B. F. Reset Time
C. The PDA tickbox
8. Click start and wait for PASS! to show highlighted green on Odin.
9. Your Galaxy Tab will Reboot, and get stuck on the Samsung Boot Screen. This is fine.
10. Turn your Galaxy Tab off by holding the power button for about 5 seconds.
11. Turn your Galaxy Tab on into RECOVERY mode (Press Volume UP and Power On at the same time).
12. The Galaxy Tab will now perform the EXT4 conversion.
13. Sit tight, depending on how much data you have, this can take quite a long time.
14. Once finished, click reboot system now (by pressing the power button).
At this point, You have installed the Overcome Kernel with CWM included and converted the Filesystem to EXT4. It has been reported that many stock ROMs will boot and run fine now, however some may not, but it just depends on your ROM etc.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=11713685.
Would be there any problem ? or is there any easy way to install CWM Recovery.
I had bricked my tab while modding battery icon and it was not booting now. Now i want to flash with the custom rom available here. I am noob to flashing so just want to confirm the steps mentioned above applicable to the bricked tab. Can somebody guide me for bircked tab.
Please mentioned the good custom rom with Ext4 conversion at the time of install. I am using indian tab.
@OP:- Sorry for hijacking this thread but find some info here for my queries
Can you get into download mode? If yes then you should be able to flash...but I would suggest checking"I bricked my tab" threads in general or developement section...

Hello,
It is the first time when trying to change ROM on my galaxy s. Before I start I want to be sure I take the right steps.
First of all some info about my phone:
PDA version is I9000BUJS3
PHONE: I9000BUJS1
CSC: I9000GATLJS2
I downloaded the ROM via Check Fus Downloader from samsung:
CSC: I9000GATLJP5
Phone: I9000BUJP5
PDA: I9000BUJP7
All I need to do now is to run odin and select the .tar file in the PDA field, correct?
Code:
Procedure:
1.Open ODIN. (And close Kies, if you have it open. It is important to have ODIN open BEFORE connection the phone via USB!)
2.Select the PDA/Modem/CSC/.PIT files in Odin. (For kernel flashes, only PDA is required. For FW flashes, .PIT and at least a PDA is required. Some PDAs have Modem and CSC integrated. Make sure you have the correct .PIT file. Usually 512.pit)
3.Check the "Re-Partition" checkbox. (Only do this if you have separate packages for PDA, Modem and CSC! Don't do this for single PDA flashes or kernel flashes!)
4.Turn the phone into the download mode by pressing and holding VolumeDown+Home+Power.
5.Connect your phone with your computer and wait until the drivers are installed.
6.When the drivers are installed, click Start.
7.The phone will be flashed and once it’s finished, it will boot up. (Do NOT disconnect the usb-cable, remove the battery or otherwise interrupt this process!)
8.You have successfully flashed your phone.
My phone was sim locked when I bought it ( now is unlocked, i suppose it will stay unlocked after upgrading).
Thank you!
Be carefull to flash firmware your phone need to be sim unlocked and network unlocked.Lot of people dont check this.See the post about it.
[email protected]
your phone will stay unlocked
and your instructions above are fine
should that fail - you may need a 2.3 rom with all 3 files instead of the 1 .tar file

How to know for sure? And if will fail it will leave my device in an unstable state?
And another question: Does the bootloader for 2.2.1 work with 2.3 ?
I think you actually need the stock FroYo bootloader to upgrade to 2.3? I may be incorrect, don't quote me. 2.3.3 has its own bootloader I believe.
Like many of you, I just updated to KG3 after being on JVQ for a brief period.
Well I did my firmware upgrade from KIES, and I noticed the Bell Bloatware is not there. Thats my first question... is yours?
Secondly, when I boot into recovery (method has changed... its now VolupANDVoldown+Home+Power), my screen looks like this:
Android system recovery <3e>
Enter: OK Key, Select : Vol UP / Vol Down
reboot system now
apply update from sdcard
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
-----------------------------
now in yellow, printed here in black as it may be hard to see:
-- Copying media files...
Successfully copied meida files.
# MANUAL MODE #
-- Appling Multi-CSC...
Installing Multi-CSC
Can't access to '/system/csc/KOR/system/'.
Successfully applied CSC.
Ok.. so other than the blatent spelling errors in that screen, anyone else getting that part in bold regarding the can't access?
I've tried finding this elsewhere with no success, so I'd thought I'd start a thread to get a definitive answer.
So its really a 3 parter.
1. Do you have your bloatware?
2. Do you see the same recovery screen as above?
3. When you select in recovery "Apply update from sdcard" does it ask you were the file is? Sort of like show you a directory?
Please guys.. let me know... I just want to make sure that KG3 is fully as I see it, and there's nothing missing.
Any help guys?
Bloatware is still there
Just finished updating to 2.3.3 on the Bell Network (Canada).
My update included all of the bloatware from Bell.
(Haven't checked into your other questions yet.)
did not use Kies but flashed using Odin: I have JVR pda and KG3 modem and csc, rooted with damian's kernel and using Brotuck's Tornado kernel -- all is in synch and working without any issues, no bloatware and with outstanding speed and stability.
From what I read in your post, you were on JVQ which was an earlier non-BMC version of GB, so the Kor is the default csc on the phone. Kies is attempting to update your system to the first BMC GB, which means it is expecting to move from Froyo and wants to use its own bootloaders etc.
When you use Kies to upgrade, your phone is not clean, nor will a fctory reset fully remove the residual parts of jvq on it -- such as the previous Kor csc.
Ok, that my understanding of where you are. Options? I see 3 choices:
1. roll back to the previous BMC 2,3 Froyo, which will reinstate the BMC csc and clean the phone when you use Kies to upgrade to KG3 as Kies will build on the BMC csc, install its bloatware and the GB versions of KG3 -- stock to stock upgrade within Kies, phone will be unrooted.
2. Flash the KG3 pda, modem and csc files within Odin which will give you the correct csc but no the bell bloat. You can then root with a custom kernel if you wish.
3. do a complete clean install, using Odin ( I can give you a link to the instructions if you pm me) ending up with KG3 installed, complete clean system, no residual issues. Then flash custom kernel and rom.
Option 3 is best. Option 1 stays on stock. Option 2 is stock and should work but not guaranteed to be issue free as the phone is not completely clean.
If you are still showing KOR, boot phone, in dialer typer, *#272*"your imei"# this should show you about 3 or 4 options, select BMC and then hit install afer abour a 2 second delay the phone should reboot and install all the bloatware =) and also solve your other problems.. this does to a factory reset as well
Probably a noob question:
I was on Hong Kong firmware, and recently flashed Open Germany XXLRQ.
However, my CSC is still TGY, which makes that I can't receive any upgrades via KIES.
What will be the best way to get the CSC to DBT? Reset the phone (I know the risk) or should I flash a separate CSC file?
Thanks for your help in advance.
Use code: *#272*IMEI# and change the DBT.
After changing the code, you will lose data (wipe)
on a followup from the instruction above, Make sure you have a multi CSC one, or else you don't have that option of choosing-DBT at all.
Do it from gb not from ics as you can brick because the process does wipe

I've downloaded the FW directly from FUS with Checkfus.
And if I do the *#272*IMEI#, the only option i see is TGY.
Should I flash another FW?

Hi Dr.!,
Thanks. I flashed it (successfully), but still only TGY to choose from...
Should I take any other steps?
Cheers,
J.P.
It means CSC flashed but cudn't apply, it may be due to multiple issue. Flash safe kernel and wipe cache and delveic cache. Some user reported me, it was worked with old version of Mobile odin. but may be coincidence as he has wipe too. so wipe cache and flash same file i have attched it should be work
And are you sure you have flashed for CSC tab with PC odin, not PDA.
Yes, I've flashed CSC, not PDA.
Ok, I will flash a safe Kernel and wipe the caches, then flash again.
After that I'll let you know if it worked.
Faced the same problem.
Solution:
1. Flash your region's stock firmware using PC Odin (Mobile Odin doesn't change CSC)
2. Root
3. Flash safe kernel (e.g. Hydracore)
4. *#272*IMEI#
5. Choose your region
6. Flash stock firmware again
7. Perform OTA
Still Not :crying:
Best way reflash ROm with PC odin.
No need for all this flashing business...

I managed to do it even simpler, although it's risky business: I did a factory reset (I'm not rooted and fully stock) and hey: CSC is now DBT. Funny thing is, with *#272*IMEI#, I still can't select any other country code. But about that, I don't mind KIES allows me to upgrade again, so I'm happy with the solution.
That wat i said, it is flashed but cudn't applied and wipe data solved issue. I think flashing cache should work now.
I recently flashed the stock rom, and now I discovered that instead of 128GB, I have only 32GB.
Can some one help me?
Hmm that's strange. I recently reflashed my own S20 fe 5g stock ROM and everything (excluding Knox related apps such the Samsung health) including ota updates and play certificate seems fine including my own 128gb 8gb ram storage. I have installed it from Sammobile recently
Have you downloaded the correct firmware? I would suggest doing the following:
1. Install your s20 fe 5g ROM along with its correct CSC (or any CSC that you would like). I recommend installing them from Sammobile. No worries if it takes long to install, just be patient
1.5 To flash the firmware, you would need to install Odin on your pc before doing so.
2. Go onto download mode (Connect Cable to pc + volume down + volume up)
3. Open Odin and connect your device onto the PC using your transfer cable
4.You should have 5 slots of opinions. Put the correct files (except user_data and home_csc) onto the correct slots (bl, ap, CP, csc_omc) . Make sure to check F.reset time and auto reboot are toggled on
5. Flash the files using Odin. It would take a while until it's completed. After its completed the device should reboot and factory reset itself, then the device should be working again
6. if you have unlocked your bootloader before make sure to relock it using download mode. this will again factory reset your device but will bring back some features like play certificate and ota updates. Just remember all Knox related apps are unavailable to be restored as they are still impacted even if you reflashed the original firmware. (However Knox features will work if you havent flashed a custom ROM or recovery before so)
7. Uncheck OEM unlock to toggle back all the security features. Remember it won't toggle on the Knox apps as they were already tripped before. (unless you haven't installed a custom ROM or recovery before so)
After that make sure to check your firmware and see if everything goes well. I hope I have helped you.

Hi how are things
here are 2 options.
1.if you are already using the system, back up and form data in twrp. (unfortunately how to reset the system)
2.in odin, there is a checkbox for option, nand erase.
