I'm wondering if there's a way to change the sound that plays when you remove the S Pen, I know you can with root but I'm more interested in non root methods.
I did it with my old note 7 and tasker.
I do it with s pen toolbox app

Use this app. No root needed and works perfectly for changing the sounds. ( I don't use any of the other features so I cannot speak of their usefulness)

:good:
Worked for me, loving the light saber effect I now have! xD
The link is broken. It doesn't work for me.
The link for me just says "This item is unavailable" whenever I click Install. It seems either my Note 8 or country isn't supported.

Does anyone know if it's possible to activate call recording using ADB? There's now so much can be done without ROOT, I wondered if call recording was now possible. I'm using ACR (app) which is working well when the call is routed through the loudspeaker but not so much when it's through the handset. It would just be nice to have it through the UI.
Yeah, I too am looking for such optuon without Xposed for my Note 8. Don't really mind if it requires root, just want the native call recording feature enabled...

I'd rather not root my Note 8, not much reason to these days with Substratum. I've asked over on Reddit too but folk just give suggestions of apps that work for them. I find no app works as reliably as the native feature. Well at least that was the case on my Note 4. If I find anything out I'll let you know and vice versa please.

So far, I've come across this XDA thread pointing out apps with no root required, several saying Boldbeast is something to give a shot:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-8/help/call-recorder-t3674386
And this methodology which requires root:
https://youtu.be/KuO3yfFGaoI
However, I'm still not able to use the one that requires root, 'cause for some reason (maybe due to me flashing CSC changer on my SM-N950N to change to a Canadian CSC) there's no CSC subdirectory in the System on my Note 8:
https://sck.pm/r3u
There's some strange CSC_Contents file though (as you can see at the bottom of the image), but not sure how to make use of it...do let me know if you or anyone has any ideas.
Thanks in advance.

I tried Boldbeast on my Note 4 before I rooted it and it didn't perform well for me so I've never considered it again.
I'm not clued up enough about all the CSC stuff, I only grab the basics, no idea about that image, sorry.
Of course, I'll let you know if I stumble upon anything.
Cheers.
I would like to know if this is possible on the Note 8 without root capabilities.

Hello, so I've been looking into OneUI although I don't currently have the phone and saw fingerprint gestures for notifications. Was wondering if there may be some sort of magisk module to enable swipe left to go back, right to go home and up for recents. I currently use this module that achieves this on the OP5T. Thanks

Well you don't have to root your device, or use magisk etc.to achieved this function.
Use a Samsung app
"One hand operation +"
You can download standalone apk from ApkMirror website. (trusted site)
I think it could also be bundled, in the Samsung Good lock app available in the
Samsung App Store
Plse note,
This app, is only available in certain selected Samsung App Stores .
Just install and configure how you want to.
See screenshots for an idea.
Good luck

Thank you for letting me know about this app. Sounds very useful and just like what I'm looking for. I see from your screenshots there was the right quick swipe for going home but was there an option to go back with a left swipe? Thank you?
Oh just looked at your screenshot again. That app seems to be just for swiping on the screen and not swiping on the fingerprint sensor

yes that's correct ,
As you stated that you can configure fingerprint action ,to to swipe down , whist using any app etc to check notifications and swipe up to close notifications.
If you want to root your device , you basically going to / stand to loose , most of your security features etc .banking apps ,maybe Samsung Health , no OTA 's etc ,
on your device ,apart from tripping Knox and possibility of voiding your warranty .!
I used to root most of my previous devices ,
but with latest Samsung Note series eg Note 8 ,Note 9 etc its just not worth it !
You stand to loose access to certain quality functions .
Unless you have a very very good reason ,i advise you not to root .!
You will find that most functions you "crave " for you can either find a work around or that a ADB function should do the trick !!
Also note Samsung One Hand Operation + gestures, works in all apps
good luck
Do anybody know how to fix this.
Like the title say. Im rooted

I choose the notification sound that i want from a file in https://superfiles.co/download/F3M13Lta/Google-Pixel-4a-Ringtones.zip. Than i use a program called Audacity and "amplify" the notification sound that i use to -10dB and copy that one to my phone and use it, thank you very much.

OK if you want the same level all the time but that's more of a bandaid.

Yes i agree, but in relation to the ringtone sound level it makes it more convinient. You can even adjust the level by using multiple files. But did google already "fixed" this since version Kit Kat?
Try Sound Profile by Corcanoe in Play Store.
Ready for Android 12.
Sound Profile (Volume control) - Apps on Google Play
Control phone volume for calls and notifications separately.

Hello,
I am the new happy owner of the Pixel 7.
I am looking for a solution for recording calls. I tried various applications, such as Cube ACR and similar. They work, but the quality is poor. I'm looking for a better solution. I was wondering if there is a way to enable native call recording. (On Samsung, for example, I changed the region to one where recording was supported)
If there is no such thing, can you at least recommend a module to use if I root my phone? Well thank you!
With Magisk and GoogleDialerMod should work. See GitHub
Yes there is away

I don't understand your answer. You can explain?
You'll need to root the phone. Then use Skvalex, installed via Magisk. It is flawless and has optional cloud backup. Works well with BT headsets/earpieces.
Download
callrecorder.skvalex.com
Yes! that's exactly how I have it now and it works great. Thx for your reply
