My HTC Flip Case After 1 Day..

Damn I was going to order one of those!! What does the retailer say?

Holy moly. I just started using one of these today while waiting for my Noreve case! Think I'm going straight back to the other case until it arrives.
I would send it back to the supplier/HTC and see what they say. Does not inspire me with confidence at all.

My goodness , i was planning to buy it from my local htc distributer . Now i think im planning to switch to others .

Is this case actually leather or plastic like the sleeve one from HTC.
I have ordered a Noreve one but was also looking at the HTC one.

I've had the same case for nearly 4 weeks now - constant use every day and its still as good as new!!!!
Reference the question above - the case is made from leather with a felt lining - and it fits the phone perfectly without increasing its size too much - so unless your happy with something more bulky I strongly recommend this case..... really!!!!
As I've said - I think you've just been unlucky and you should ask for a replacement.....

Oic , i think i will reconsider again if you said like this . May be just sometimes we were unlucky !!!!

I looked at mine again yesterday in more detail. The right hand strap that has failed is considerably thinner and "weaker" than the other side. I am therefore not surprised that this happened.
Have ditched mine, gone back to a more secure case until the Noreve comes in. Not really prepared to risk a £500 phone in a case that can fail like this one just has.
The annoying thing is that, from a design perspective, its quite a good case. Just seems there are quality issues with it.

Is it the HTC HD2 Optional Leather Pouch PO S511? I think that, and the pouch are the only 2 "HTC cases" Here's a link to the Expansys page for it: http://www.expansys.com/d.aspx?i=189819.
I had it on order to weeks from Mobilefun but I ended up cancelling bcause they were incapable of providing approriate stiock update information and ignored my requests for information.
I've currently got the Proporta Mizu Shell on order from Expansys.

It is a matter of personal choice of what suites. I have had and still have many cases that dont fit or you can't use the phones features. You get what you pay for in my opinion.

it happened the same day I got the phone and it was while I was at work so wasn't even full on it.
haven't got hold of tue company yet since I can't remember should brought it from i got to scan emails .
I didn't get my phone till 23, didn't take it to work
an yes it was an offical htc one feel so cheated! I guess you get what you pay for!

My point is that the noreve case is £40 and the one on ebay is £7. so its not a matter of "you get what you pay for" its the same!!

My Noreve case was £29.95 inc not £40.
If you take the time to look more closley they are not exactly the same but far from it. Im happy with my £29.95 Noreve Case you buy the £7.00 one. As i said before it is personal preference.

[Review] Seidio Active Case

Today before lunch, I got in the Seidio Active case with front cover/kickstand. It's much like the Kindle Fire case I had. So I am glad that I now have it protecting my N7.
As you can see it is the black version. All the cutouts are there EXCEPT for the POGO Pins. But I see it as if you are going to use the POGO pins, you HAVE to remove the case to use a POGO device, so I am am ok with covering it up at this time.
The case comes in three parts, the rubber polymer, hard exterior skeleton, and the mounting cover. The rubber does attract dust especially when brand new out of the box lol, but after a while, the dust and debris will get easier to wipe off with your hand. The front cover can be slipped on the back of the case for convenience and IMO added protection. And there is no magnets to speak of. Which is ok, IMO, I'll just use my volume rockers to turn it on, which I do anyway.
If you have any Seidio products on any of your devices, this does not disappoint. All the cutouts are there and the front camera is clear from the rubber exterior as well. Without the front cover, the Nexus 7 is comfy in my hand and i can see gaming on this more and more...if my 4 year old is not hogging it up lol....
To sum it up, the case is what I expected from Seidio and the quality of their cases. I have been a repeat customer for years and I forsee that I may be again when I get my next device, whatever that may be.

I answered those generally in the other Seidio thread but forgot to post the question and answers here, so here it goes:
1. Is it bulky?
Ans: No more bulkier than my Treegloo case. It actually feels thinner than the treegloo and Kindle Fire version IMO, that's without the front cover on the back :cyclops:.
2. Does it add to the thickness/weight?
Ans: It does seem a bit heavier. I think it has to do with the skeleton and rubber combo. But it feels comfortable in the hand because of the rubber exterior IMO. Is it thick? See answer one lol...well if you are coming from a naked N7 then this would be a major step but also major protection IMO.

I took some pics showing the difference in thickness (with measurements) with the case and cover part way down this page, also near the bottom I posted the weight of the bare 7, with case and with case/cover.

Is it me, or the case is somewhat "curvy"? Especially in you last picture, it looks like the rubber doesn't make straight lines around the screen.

I see what you mean. Keep in mind I had just put the case on prior in taking pics. As of now the case has "settled" around the device. Ill try to take a comparison pic.

Hmm...looks the same doesn't it? LOL. In the pics I see what you are saying but when looking at it, it looks ok to me lol.

Having a closer look, it looks like there's some barrel distortion with your camera, as even the screen itself isn't fully square. The case is probably fine (and the lines do look smoother in the more recent picture).

Can you use the harder protective back to cover the front of the screen?

The stand is a hard cover as well. There's a pic of it without the N7 installed.

Nice. This is definitely on my to buy list. Been waiting for a tough case to come out since I bought it.

Got mine and am not disappointed in the least. Pretty much great in every way. Highly recommended.

I am interested in this case as well. Could someone get a pic of the case and tab side by side laying flat on a desk/table? I'm trying to get a feel for how much thicker it ends up being with the top on it. Thanks

Has anyone tried this specific "smart cover" case?

I looked around for smart covers on ebay and found the cover below. It doesn't fold around like this case does and in general looks more stable judging by the pictures (they could be wrong though).
Have any of you tried it? I have not found a review of it yet but I figured it might be worth asking.

Yes I have this case, I tell you its a beautiful case to hold and look at. There are other colour variants available which I got the red one.
Its very sleek, doesn't add much weight or bulk to the device.
The sleep functions works brilliantly, and doesn't lock the device when you fold it over to hold like a book, which some do.
ONE DOWNSIDE!!!! - The stand is very hard to figure out (i have not yet figured how to fold it to make it stand up haha !)
Hope this helps answer your questions.
And I genuinly recommend this case as its ace ! (that rhymes weee)

Have you got a link for any of the other colours? The ones I see in multiple colours are the ones with the wrap-around magnetic closure in the back (which I have, I'd like to have one that just lies over the screen for use at home).

I think it's noticeable, especially when I have that extra flap to fold back over when I'm using the N7 in my hand.
I want to keep it closed and secure, sure, when it's in a bag or something. But my N7 spends most of its time on my coffee table or bar; I'd love to have a slim case with just a flap over the screen to keep the dust out. That doesn't cost $30+ like the Poetics or Portenzos of the world.

So do you have this exact case or not? I've seen the other ones and I'm not interested in them after reading the reviews. That's why I started a new thread about this one. If you do have this one, some pictures would be great.

I went and ordered one of these, but likely won't have it for a couple of weeks since it's coming from China. Will post my impressions when it arrives.

That's a different case, with the wrap-around flap on the right side. I already have that one.

look, heres the deal, that case may look pretty but any case like that wont stay closed. for it to be closed, there would have to be magnets along the edges like the portfolio. any case maker that says the case will stay closed without magnets on the border is lying.

I own one and its awesome. Buy it.

I have to admit, I never really liked these cases... but after seeing that YouTube review online, I'm curious enough to give it a shot.
I'm absolutely in love with this Speck case, but I do have a minor concern with it. I use my Nexus 7 frequently, very frequently, and not only that but I use it for work. I'm continually walking up and down the hall at work going from one problem to another, using my N7 along the way. As a result, I'm concerned I may wear out the clip on the Speck case quite a bit. This only became a thought when I realized the clipping mechanism is significantly easier now than it was when I bought it. Broken in? Maybe. Will it get even softer? Very possible. This case ensures that won't happen since the magnets of course don't have physical contact to wear like that. While the higher stand up position seems a bit easy to topple over, the other one with the N7 (one I'd likely prefer anyway) looks a bit better in terms of stability.
At any rate, ah, I bought one just now - we'll see what happens when it gets here.
Edit - for what it's worth the one I ordered did indeed have the magnetic flap that goes around back to ensure it stays shut. I'm not sure I'd consider one without...

Case arrived today, so far I like it, the cover lies flatter than the eBay case with the extra flap, and it feels slimmer. Only downside so far is that it sometimes puts the tablet to sleep when I fold it back. We'll see if it gets better over time. I'll try to take pictures when I have a chance.

maybe slip something to block the magnet on the back? not sure what can maybe help on that front, but maybe a little thickness might be enough.
Side note, anyone have this and the poetic slimline case? I got the first case they had for my uncle, but it's a bit difficult for him to open. I'd get him a portenzo like mine, but it might actually add more bulk than I'd want for him.

Matte Replacement Backs?

I've tried searching around, but still haven't found anything (probably a sign that I won't). Anyway, my G2 should be here soon, are there any replacement backs for the G2 that are matte? I don't want a case, I want a new back panel/door/cover/thing. All I can find on eBay are the same glossy white and black backs.
If there's still nothing I guess I'll just have to try sanding the back like I've seen some do here (can just get another glossy back if it goes badly). Any one done this and can share some pics too?

This might not be exactly what you're looking for, but the red and gold backs recently became available on eBay. They're not completely matte and have a bit of shine to them, but are at least textured. I've been after a red one ever since I felt one up in a shop months ago (they felt really nice, much better than the glossy white or black ones). I have one on order which should be here tomorrow, so I'll take a picture for you when it arrives, or just take a look at a review on youtube of a red or gold G2.

To be honest though, if it's just smudges you're worried about, I find that the black G2 back doesn't visible smudge that much compared to many devices I've owned. It's not going to be my main phone, so it's not that big of a deal really, but I know I will hate the feeling and look of the gloss. I think what I'll do is give it a run and decide what's more important, keeping everything black or having it feel better. Then I'll sand the back and if all goes well then great, if not I'll know whether to go back to the glossy black or switch to the red. Cheers for the help.

I know you said you didn't want a case. But the poetic palette case is awesome. Its relatively thin and it hides the crappy back cover. I like my phones without cases as well but this is case doesn't bother me at all.

That actually looks really nice, and the texture looks far nicer than the gloss back. Now if only I could find one for the VS980...ugh Verizon making the bastard model of the device.

Very unobtrusive and actually makes it easier for me to locate the buttons on the back.
I don't really care for cases either, but this only adds a few mm to the overall width and depth of the phone.

Yep, the texture is very nice.. grippy, doesn't show any fingerprints and looks nice too. Think you'll be out of luck with the Verizon model unfortunately.

I'm really thinking about buying that gold back for my white G2. I'm only worried about it fitting since the D802 is the model posted and I have the Tmobile version D801.

Very nice! Does anyone know if replacing the back on the D801 is a DIY job? Can't seem to find any info on this.

Actually it is very easy to replace the back cover. Just remove the sim tray and carefully insert a credit card corner and with a bit of twisting you will notice the cover separating so go along round the device and start releasing the cover locks. You don't need to apply much force, you'll hear them release as you go.

It has nothing to do with bumping my review up as i dont benefit anything by doing that. I am just after some unbiased responses from other xda members. I am interested in knowing if others share my view or not. Like i have said before i dont make any money from my reviews it is a hobby and i am just trying to help others.

I never said that you did, but bumping a post less than 24 hours later isn't necessary without new additions. I was only mentioning this because it's something that I see quite often. I will let you know what my impressions are later tonight as I mentioned.

Did you get the black or red one? If you got the red could you please post some pics of it on the phone. Also do the sides feel well fitted or a little bit loose sometimes on the volume rocker side about a third way up? I

Black one, and my sides aren't loose, but it messes with ym screen protector I have to install a new one now. I'll post more about it in a bit; it also has a small defect on the back.

Can you please let me know which screen protector you have and which one you are going to replace it with? I haven't been able to find a suitable one yet.

Well to be honest they all have been sh*ty thus far. I have the yootech currently which is nice depsite it lifting with most cases. I've tried 9 different ones so far without one really being 'great'. I'm going to replace it with one I bought from Verizon as an intern solution

Why did you bump your thread? You know that you are supposed to wait 24 hours before doing that.

I posted the review of it in my case OP. I was disappointed in more than one way with the case, and it did have the issues you mentioned, as well as some others.

Great review for a great looking case. I think buying this one or Spigen Rugged Armor. My main goal for a case is the minimal bulk, no fingerprints and nice looks. What do you think if i should go with spigen or evutec ? I am very familiar with Dupont Kevlar as i have had Kevlar on a number of old motorola phones, i like the kevlar material, you cant go wrong with it. I wouldn't think for a second and buy this if they used the following pattern instead of the boring and regular carbon pattern..Looks nicer, doesn't it ?

Hi and thanks for the kind words, the evutec will be more protective in my opinion. Evutec is also unusual as I would doubt anyone in Turkey has one so it's unique which is something I like as I love being different. The Spigen case is lovely you could always get both and return the one you don't like.
I bought my evutec case from eBay as the seller I bought it from was selling it cheaper and shipped to the UK in fact he ships internationally I am sure evutec don't ship internationally so it's worth checking out eBay or even mobile fun as they might ship to Turkey also there is a red version of this case for sale. I hope this helps

Thanks ram, good to know they ship to Turkey but the price including shipping cost is 40$ and i couldn't justify that much of money for a case. I am going to wait for prices to go down a little more. :good:

See if you can find it on eBay, I bought one from an American seller and shipping was free to the UK and it cost £21 which is not too bad.
