Weird. Took me a second to notice it. I factory reset my device too when I got mine on the first day. My emojis were not affected like yours. I have also not seen any info about this until you posted.

I have been trying to look up information on this for the past 4 days now and can't find anything on it..and I don't want to get a referb device and my emojis were fine till I factory reset my phone.. I don't know what's going on i even booted in safe mode to see if it was a app nope still does it in safe mode.. so strange I guess I have a one of a kind smartphone hahaha
I figured out the problem it is and was not a software update issue it was a font I bought from samsung and it caused my emojis to mess up.. wow!!

Some background info would be nice.
yeah I had this same problem when i was on an earlier version of CM experimental build, the problem for me was that it would do what i would call a soft reboot, where the android loading screen would appear and load for a couple seconds then go back to the home screen.
I found this problem out in the browser when i was trying to go back to the prvious pagr it would "reset" I dont know the cause but maybe you should get a Log of the error or when this happens and post it here or send to Cyanogen
Yeah some more background information would help us assit you with the issue. If possible create a signature with information about the ROM you use and any settings.
haha easy, my phone is.....unchanged at all

i think he means "all your versions belong to us" or "Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?"
seriously though no one is going to help you if you don't want to tell us any background info, and if you don't want to, then why make a thread to begin with.

I have no idea what is happening here but if I restart my phone few times it works. I even did a factory reset with no luck. I have had the phone for nearly two years and this is the first time this has happened so not sure it it is because I dropped it few weeks back or of a software update or a hardware issue.
Has anyone experienced something similar to this?

Update to the latest Google play services with this version, released yesterday https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.gms. Or download apk from here http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google.../google-play-services-6-5-99-1642632-038-apk/ Problem is solved for me.
For me all works now with latest services
To solve the gms problem do this:
Go to play store and search for "disable services"
Install it and Browse to Google play services (in system or after self autoupdate in data)
Only disable the checkinservice .
Reboot and till now all Works
thx goes to n0j0e he found it out .
So a couple of months I updated my P9 to b383, all was pretty good until I found that when I restarted my phone, all my setting had reverted to default. Things such as vibrate on keypress, how long before my phone locked, you know sort of standard settings which I had customised to my liking. Oh and also the hidden apps menu didn't work. I didn't really use this so it wasn't a big deal. I factory reset my phone and it seemed to cure it. A week later and it has started all over again. Anybody else noticed anything weird like this? Would re-flashing the firmware fix the problem?
Cheers

Did you used the dload method?
if yes did you flashed BOTH firmware files?
I think I used the hi-suite/firmware finder method and I did flash both files.
At least once a week I go to use my phone and it will not turn on? I have to hit the power and volume down to reboot the phone. It's getting worse and worse does anyone know why this is happening. I tried to search I didn't see anything. I am on Att and stock.

I am sure you tried factory reset already? I had a few in phones in the past do that. Usually was a bad battery. When did it all start? How old is phone? Any apps you install and it started doing this?
Leaning more towards you will need to ship in for a warranty with Samsung.

This is my 2nd phone the first one got screwed up with a update. I have had this one for about 4 months and it just started doing it about a month ago. Now it has done it 3 times this week. Once just now and it happens on the charger and off the charger. It has made me late waking up twice. I haven't done a phone restore yet and I haven't installed any new apps.

Sorry didn't read right tired ha. Black screen usually sign of bad screen. Got mixed up and thought it was restarting on it's on. If there was no apps that caused it. You didn't mess with any settings? Said your stock.
If none of the solutions others suggest soon don`t work. I'd go for a factory reset last resort. Worst case you will have to ship again to Samsung sadly

That's concerning. I take it most people with same situation as yours, shipped into sammy? Sucks you gotta go through this bs again maybe.
Just as suggestion, but if you use AOD try turning it off and and see if this fixes the problem.
I had this problem with Ironman ROM and turning off AOD fixed the problem.

Hi,
If you can't reboot your device to fix black screen problem, you can try FoneLab broken android phone data extraction to fix it.
Download and install the program on your computer, and then connect device to computer.
Then you can scan, select and recover data with a few clicks.
More details from fonelab and the post How to Recover Data from Android Phone That Won't Turn On or How to Fix A Samsung Tablet with Black Screen.
Hi,
I am currently experiencing a problem with my finger scanner. It does not show up under settings.
Everything was going going perfectly a couple of days ago, but one morning, it was bugging si I decided to restart my phone. Since then, it disappeared from the settings menu.
Does someone else have the same issue?
Is there a way to say if it is due to a software or hardware issue?
Any thoughts?
Thanks for your help!

Thanks for the advice, but I already tried it, two times just to make sure... Nothing changed.
The weirdest thing is that restarting the phone gave me access to the fingerprint scanner once, but disappeared 2 days later... Since then, have not been able to get access to it. This is why I don't know if it is hardware or software related.

You should also try to downgrade to older software using FF, if that doesnt work than its hardware problem. EDIT: Try wipe cache using stock recovery first

Unfortunately, no... I am now on B360, but still no finger sensor in setting menu.
I'll let you know if I find something!.
OK thank you. If I find something I'll let you know too.
The new software update b369 seems to have solved my problem...
