volume on mute unexpectedly - Moto X4 Questions & Answers

Android One, Stock, Oreo 8.0.0
I haven't set the phone to vibrate but the vibration icon is in the status bar. I don't have any sound schedule set up. Another related thing: toggling the volume to set Do Not Disturb and finding it's already been set. (And no mute icon in the status bar.) Am I missing a setting somewhere?

Weird issue - Volume automatically changes to Vibrate

This is happening constantly. Is this a known/common bug?
Any fixes available for it?
Are you using a bluetooth headset?
Happens to me after I make a Calender event/reminder.
Mine will do this on purpose when I am "busy" it will change profiles and use the vibrate instead of the ring. Do you have it set to do that?
Bill
That setting (switch to vibrate when "busy") is controlled in the HTC Today plug-in. It's the rightmost button on the plug-in's ringer panel -- when selected, the caption above the buttons will read "Sound: Automatic".

Alert slider issues

I've found that the profiles of the alert slider don't quite work for me. In particular, there is no real silent mode that turns off vibrations and OS sounds.
'Silent mode' (top position) leaves vibrations on which is obviously not good when I'm going to sleep etc
'Do not disturb' (middle position) disables vibrations and notification sounds but leaves OS sounds on (the lock/unlock sound for example). This is really annoying when I don't want to wake my Boyfriend or don't want to distract people in a meeting.
Is there any way to disable OS sounds in do not disturb mode?
Also is there any way to enter a profile automatically (when I go to sleep for example)? I've been able to do this on other android phones.
Thanks!
Sorry cm13 was the only way I found to take full control of the annoying stock settings you mentioned

Mute system sound while in Do not disturb mode

Hi!
I'm searching for a way to mute system and app sounds in the Do not disturb slider mode. I'd like to be able to set the volume to 0 with the slider or just mute all the system sounds in do not disturb.
I tried it with the xposed module Notification Slider but it works 1 out of 10 tries.
The phone is rooted and xposed is installed. The Oxygen version is 4.1.7

Un-linking ringtone and notifications via application, forces DND mode.

I just got the MIUI 9 update(although didn't try this before) and I'm trying various applications to allow me to effectively mute all notifications and allow phone calls to ring with sound. I've tried a few and they all work, but they seem to turn on DND mode and don't always release it leaving me with no sounds at all. Has anyone had any luck unlinking the phone and notifications with Nougat and MIUI?
Quick update...to simplify I downloaded silent.ogg and applied it to my default notification sound and each app that used special. This way I have ringing all the time with volume and all other notifications just visual and in some cases, to my watch. It works.

Unable to stop notifications sounds when on the call

When I'm on a call, all notifications makes a chime as it comes through, even though the phone is set to silent and vibrate one.
1. I have disabled the setting in the phone app's setting: "Notify during calls - Allow alarms and notification to sound during calls"
2. I have all notifications set to silent and vibrate all the time because I don't want sounds.
3. I tried using an unobtrusive "pop" sound as the notification sound, but when on the phone, all notifications sounds switch to the default Samsung ringtone that is very loud and distracting to the person on the other end.
Any idea why this is happening? Anything I can try next?
I have Galaxy S10 Unlocked (Pie - July 1 Patch)
