For an aging M7, is there is a noticeable difference between a GPE and Sense rom? I am thinking of flashing the GPE+ rom from Santod, as I quite like the clean android feel and was hoping with less HTC clutter it might have slight better battery life.
Can anyone offer some insight whether there is much difference between Sense and GPE when it comes to battery life?
Thanks.

I currently use the official stable Sense 5 ROM that shipped with my phone, only rooted and am quite fond of the battery life. I use the Power saver feature and get excellent battery life with it.
My question is...
Has anyone done the full conversion to the Google Play Edition and gotten as good or better battery life without this sort of power saver feature?
don't hate Sense 5 but I like the intended functionality of AOSP

AOSP ! = GPe
Based on the battery stats thread, it's really a tossup. I think most get better battery from Sense, but I don't think it's that different.
I imagine some have researched this well enough, many seem to feel Sense based roms offer the best battery life on the M7. Not too many support the GPE roms for battery life.
Is this the main consensus, it's better to go for a Sense based rom when it comes to prolonging battery life?
I have found in general KK/Sense marginally out perform offical Lollipop roms, particularly GPE. I can appreciate ported roms, ie Sense 7 will probably not be so good for battery life. AOSP not so good as they are not based off official HTC releases.
I am away camping for a few weeks, with little opportunity to charge the phone apart from in the car. Anything that can give me an improvement on battery life will be a help.
I'll be happy with JB, KK or Lollipop.
HTC One battery life (ROM, downgrade etc. questions)
Hello!
My HTC One is now 2.5 years old and the battery life begins to drop. So now my questions are:
-Which rom has the best battery life?
-Which rom do you use and how does your battery perform?
-Is it useful to downgrade to an older version of android to increase battery performance?
I get like under 4 hours of screen-on time with brightness set to lowest. (I use the GPE Plus rom)
I also tried to use this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/and...mod-projct-mod-boost-nitro-x-edition-t2809443
After installing that, battery life got just a little bit better.
Well, that´s it and thanks for reading it ^^
Over the time, my stock HTC One has become laggy and bettery life has been pretty bad. (I am on stock 5.0.2)
I, now, am looking to root my One and want a stable, butter smooth and battery efficient Sense 7 ROM. I came across many Sense 7 ROMs in development section - InsertCoin, ViperOne, SDv6, Artmod and others. Can someone suggest which one is the best in terms of the parameters I am looking for?
Thanks
I can only recommend Insertcoin, as I haven't tried the others.
If you combine this with the elementalX kernel you can achieve a pretty nice battery life.
Install X-posed and greenify for an even better battery
From all the roms I have flashed, I have found Sense 7 roms offer the worst for battery life. Kitkat Sense 6 roms seem to be the best for performance and battery life, but then that's just my experience. Each to their own.
Best Battery Live ever
try
1) [ROM] Android Revolution HD 92.0 with
2) Elementrix Kernel
3) Greenefy and
4) Xposed and the MobleActiveRadioFix (to fix Lollipop Bug)
5) (optional) if you like, change launcher to launcher ex - sense is very battery intensiv

what rom do you use ?
I still am fond of my Moto X 2013, but the battery life is getting worse and worse.
Which custom ROMs are best for extending battery life? I'm far more interested in long battery life than in any other features, at this point.
I'm already using every trick I know of to reduce battery drain (not even collecting e-mail any more on my phone, for example).
Thanks.
I too had the same problem but solved now . I tried many custom ROM's but can't fix that problem. Then found that the problem is with kernal. Then tried stock 4.4.4 with custom kernal (excellent battery life + doesn't over heating) kernal= zwliew (thanks man). No need to tweak anything. Just flash and forgot the kernal. That kernal itself super tweaked.
As long as you don't flash a lollipop ROM, you'll get decent battery life. You can boost that with a custom kernel, or with Greenify/Powernap/Amplify.
Thank you for your help, gowtham nkg and EmilianoTalamo.
One question: did you downgrade from 5.1 to 4.4.4? I had thought that at some point, you could no long downgrade. I'm sure the info is on this forum, but since we're on the topic, I thought I'd be lazy and just ask you guys.
try this forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/general/guide-t3263991
Stock 4.4.4 excels in battery, specially if you tweak it some. Other than that and you'll most likely get battery issues, especially on 5.1
