Does anyone know why Google Assistant and the keyboard voice to text might not be working when connected to my Pixel XL 2? No sim inserted and not connected for audio. Anything would help.

I just got a note 9 and I connected it to my radio an Alpine i209-wra and it allows for voice command. I had a pixel xl and it worked fine when I hit the mic button but now with the note 9 it doesn't. Do I need to do something in settings or is it bixby or what? Any Help is greatly appreciated.
I'm using the Redmi K20 pro Indian Variant, and the Alexa isn't working on the Amazon Prime Music app.
The app isn't able to pickup audio from the microphone, I've checked the microphone permissions and they are on, I've Uninstalled and Installed the app multiple times still doesn't work.
Google Assistant works flawlessly so there isn't any problem with the microphone. So if someone could help me out I'd be grateful.
I am also facing the exact issue.
However, the microphone is working on Alex app.
Any luck
I'm using a Mi A3 and have the same problem.
Even after a factory reset the problem reappears.
So I read on a number of websites that Google is going to pull AA from the Play Store, in favour of their own Google Assistant Driving Mode. I recently bought a Pioneer AVH 7200 head unit, specifically because of the Android Auto functions - I hate having a mount on my window or dashboard with my phone in it. Besides, this head unit has a 7 inch touch screen, making it a lot easier to read in the car.
Now, at first, I didn't really care because I figured AA would probably revert to an app that just didn't do anything if you booted it from the app drawer, forcing people to use Google Assistant Driving Mode if they don't have an AA head unit. However, now I see messages pop up about AA being removed from the app drawer completely on some Pixel phones, yet working fine when connected to a head unit with AA. Here lies my problem: because Google hasn't officially released AA in my country (the Netherlands), I need to download it from APKMirror or any other APK source that isn't Google Play. Unless they decide to release AA in the Play Store somehow, I'll probably lose this functionality somewhere in the near future, rendering my €600 head unit useless. Or is Google planning on integrating AA into Android completely, like CarPlay is fully integrated in iOS? That way, AA will probably finally arrive in the Netherlands.
Has anyone got any idea?
As far as I know, they are going to complety integrate it.
In some pixel phones it is now a system app and you can launch it's normal configurations through system configuratios.

I have a Pixel 3a XL, and would love to dump Android Auto for the assistant driving mode. Any instructions for selecting this option?

Driving mode is for when you are using the phone in a mount or something like that. Android Auto is for when you are using your phone connected to a head unit.

No, here in the US, I have Android Auto on my phone only. I don't have a head unit in my car. I would like to use driving mode, though.

Are you on the latest beta update? They say it's working like this now.

One of the features I was waiting patiently for in Android 11 was Screen Recording and we finally got it. However on my Pixel 4 XL when I tick device audio option, there is no sound coming. I tested the device and mic option and I can only hear my voice. I tried 3rd party screen recorder and audio worked fine.
So anyone have an idea on what's happening?

Same issue. The mic audio seems to work fine, but device audio is doesn't record at all.
Working just fine for me. I've recorded Instagram live and YouTube videos. What app or apps have you guys tried to record? Maybe it's being blocked? It doesn't work for something like MLB app and baseball games.

I tried it with PowerAmp and Tasker. Device only and Device+Mic modes only ever had the mic recorded. I only heard device sound when noise canceling failed enough to sort of hear it. I didn't have any audio related Magisk module installed at the time.
As a side note, I was initially baffled as to why I was missing the QuickTile, then I read it is completely missing until you hide the QuickTiles of other screen recording apps... which is crazy.

I did some more testing, I tested sound from Poweramp and youtube, not working. However, sound from Whatsapp videos is working fine.
I read somewhere that this is due to DRM protection. But it's weird, Youtube works fine on my friend's iPhone screen recorder.
And now you are saying Youtube works fine for you so it's weird.

Maybe it's a location or video specific block? I just tested again and I recorded this video fine.

I don't think it's a location block to be honest. I tried recording the video you posted, same issue.
I can't imagine that Tasker playing a random WAV file is being blocked from recording for DRM reasons. The only way I can hear anything is when mic is enabled and the sound is loud enough to be heard by the mic on the other side of the phone. It helps when I use an audio stream that uses stereo so both sides of the phone play the sound. If mic recording is disabled, no audio is recorded in the video.

I guess the next step would be a factory reset.

Ya might as well. I've been having many issues since I upgraded to 11.
Hopefully it fixes the issue.
Ok I have a small update with good and bad news. The good news is after factory resetting my phone, youtube audio worked fine and everything seemed ok so it is not a DRM issue. the bad news is after rooting and installing Vanced, the audio stopped working again
I did some trial and error, uninstalled Vanced and used Youtube, same issue. I removed Viper4android, same thing
No idea what is causing this.
