[Q] Galaxy S Baseband Backup / download

Hi Guys , New to the forum but I have learned a lot in the last few weeks, from the excellent guides and information in the forum ,however there is a question that somehow no one seems to answer, I have a samsung galaxy s with the following firmware
PDA : I9000XWJM3
Phone : I9000XXJM2
CSC :I9000OXXJM2
The phone is about 2 months old, anyways I have done a few Custom rom Installs and flashed newer versions of android, and I find that every time I revert to a nandroid backup, of the orignal firmware , the baseband (I9000XXJM2) will never restore back i.e will always keep the baseband of the custom rom or the newer firmware, now the problem is that I cant find this stock firmware anywhere on the net, neither can I backup the orignal baseband. the versions are always either older or newer than my stock firmware... the phone had a dead pixel so sent it back to samsung and it came back flashed with my old original firmware. now to get to the point is there anyway to backup the baseband ? or can anyone point me in the right direction ? samfirmwares definitely doesn't have a copy of this original firmware. I sent the phone back to samsung with the incorrect baseband not even available in my country I may not be so lucky the next time something goes wrong so id like to keep a full stock version of the original firmware. any help will be cool
don't forget to back up the /efs folder. so that if your phone's /efs folder gets corrupt and you can't make calls, you can restore it easily.
by the way, your modem (baseband) can be found on samfirmware and it must be contained in I9000XXJM2 firmware.
the guy who flashed your firmware mixed 2 firmwares, that is the reason why you couldnt find it.

Can you find XXJM2 save the OP looking for the invisible firmware .
Looks like you have odd original, firmware .
Save baseband file downloaded from sam will include the baseband/modem file in the zip/tar file . You can just save that or extract the modem .Its possible to just flash the modem or swap modem in custom roms .
Can you open the Nandroid backup and see if modem is in that .

thanks , I have backed up the EFS folder already , but as I said I cant find that version of firmware, samfirmware does not have a XXJM2 firmware rather a XWJM2 firmware package the has a XXJM1 modem file in it

Basic info question "urgent"

First i must say i LOVE this forum it is one of the best out there. All the info i ever needed i found here. But i can not find info about my next question.
I made a backup using rom maneger on my stock firmwire then i went upgrading and all went ok then i downgraded back to my stock using backup i have created with rom maneger. I know the kernel version is not the same as it was when the phone was untouched and so on. But i think i will be able to find it. _I was wondering what else wasnt backed up by rom maneger. I want to make my phone exsactly the same as before ... Is now Baseband version the same as before? What about build number ? I know kernel is not. Please help.
I needed to change kernel because of downgrading it so i could install rom maneger. U3 to U2

No signal using AvatarROM

I just rooted my phone from 2.3.3 and then installed the AvatarROM. Everything seems to work except I can't get any signal or network data. I would prefer to keep this ROM because I like the look and feel of it, so any help would be appreciated.
My phone info is:
Model: GT-I9000M
Android: 4.2.2
Baseband: I9000XXJVT
Kernal: 3.0.78-g69c9cbc [email protected]=rom-buildmc #1
Well, I can't tell if something went wrong during the installation of the ROM, or that it is a known bug from the developer. I would suggest you to try a diffrent modem (baseband), and if that wouldn't work I think you should check if the ROM is suitable for your device.

I've installed a ROM and unbricked my device before, but I'm a newbie when it comes to Modems. Any tips on where to find them and how to update them?
juz use search box to find ur modem firmware.or juz backup ur efs before flashing! it contain ur imei n md5 inside.or use efs backup app out there

Help! No imei.

Help!
I did not do a backup IMEI and now does not work network, no IMEI? Is it possible to do something?
which rom / which kernel flashed before lost your imei
because if your problem kernel related, little change but maybe your new kernel cannot read your efs info. if this; you can flash stock rom with odin.
But if you lost your imei when flash a stock rom with odin (i did once with my old note 2!!) then try to flash custom rom (DrKetan recomended) and his stock modified kernel.
i hope you fix your problem.
I did root, after some phone application hangs. After uploading new software was no longer the network and IMEI. I tried to upload the rom dr. Ketana and its kernel. Next the same.
Try to take a modem.bin from odin and flash it.
Make sure the Odin is your model.
try original stock rom via odin
Thanks helped to upload the original rom for Tunisia
