I found this on another forum:
"Hello everybody,
my technical support colleagues have now confirmed to me that the unrolled security update for Meltdown / Specter in the Samsung Galaxy S9 | S9 + is already integrated. Smiley (fröhlich)
Best regards

It looks as though they released with the patches pre-installed :good:
I believe January's security patch fixed Spectre and I don't think Meltdown applied to ARM chips.

Hello, is there any info on the WP8 GDR3 update ? A changelog wold be nice, but all i can finde is something about 5 colums in live title and support for HD LCD and CPU Support thats all
There is no changelog and this is currently all the information that is available. The GDR updates don't bring a lot of user facing new functionality. Microsoft only delivers that with Major Updates like Blue which is supposed to hit in early 2014.
The Galaxy Tab A 8.0, which is also known as the SM-T350, was spotted running Google's new software, Android 7.0. Check the attachments for proof.View attachment 4225926
After conferring with my contact at samsung he confirms there is a test build out there internally however will unlikely will be released at 7.1.1 to public and don't expect a leAK of the firmware I already asked and was told very resounding negative.

Thanks for the info but what does unlikely be released mean? How about android 7.0 then. I just got a Tab A 7" (SM-280)to replace my old nexus 2012, and find it really poor that this cant even be upgraded to MM at the very least. Not even a custom rom. Why Samsung is even promoting and marketing this all over the place as a 2016 version yet shipping it with 5.1.1 is appalling. Hopefully this internal build actually does make it out and can be ported to the T-280 as its nearly same spec. Should just be a downscaling UI difference I would think.
Sorry i must not gave specified what i meant i meant that it will unlikely be 7.1.1 that will be released it will most likely be 7.1.2

The T280 uses a Spreadtrum SoC while the T350 uses Qualcomm. That's a big difference.
We're getting Nougat!
Why samsung takes so much time to release ROM updates?
In Brazil the last one is N950FXXU1AQI1 and was released in september 10th.
Because they suck with updates :crying: They update the cheap and older models first and then the flagships.

If you don't know what's going on, then don't react at all!
The November security-patch is on test now; there were problems to be solved first:
* freezing problems after using Contacts-app
* High battery usage AOD
BlueBorne has been patched in the latest update
They are crap with updates, my UK unlocked exynos is on August security patch. What happened to September's and October's? Shocking. I have the S8 as well and that wasn't too bad with updates.
Sent from my SM-N950F using XDA Labs

That may be but its taking Samsung since ages way to long to offer firmware updates and security patches. If Sony or Nokia can do it so should Samsung beeing a humongous company with more devs then any other OEM. Hopefully they will implement Project Treble in Oreo for easier and faster patch updates.

The problem isn't all Samsung's. Part of the issue is having to go through the carriers.
Google hopes to start solving the problem with Project Treble. If that works as advertised, we'll get more timely critical updates. The trouble is, we won't see Treble until Oreo hits the streets.
Already received October update on MiA1 and MiA2, given that these two devices already receive late updates, Nokia claims themselves to be fast on providing updates, but they haven't provided October patch yet, while all major manufacturers are doing it.
October security patch fixes a major security flaw in the framework that lets hacker execute codes on your phone remotely.

According to HMD it's either your carrier or your country holding it up. They need to come up with better excuses

October patch is not out yet.
I am already on Pie, but it's buggy as hell.
I suspect that they are working on a stable Pie update for rest of the world and at the same time trying to fix the bugs, but they are too late at that.

The same build is rolling out for everyone. Bugfixes will be included in security patches.
