Hello guys I want to tell you about a problem I have a few days ago, when I took my S PEN and go to the top where is the time or battery icons, wanting to download the notification bar the S PEN pointer does not he detects me he stays down and does not go up to where he is playing the S PEN.
The rest of the screen all very well, in a navigation bar and everything perfect, just do not detect me by touching the icons at the top or download the notification bar, someone of you know any solution? I already format and change the dpi of the screen but nothing, if anyone knows any solution, please be very grateful.
Note: I attach this screen to see what I mean, the S PEN is touching the time but the pointer is positioned below.

You can use *#0*# in the dialer to test the s pen, but i'm not sure if there is a way to calibrate it.

any chance there might be a magnet near the top of your phone?
magnets deflect the signal from the stylus.
this could very well be caused by a vertical flip case.

Two things:
Magnet, This will screw with the touch pen. If you have one on the case that holds it closed, then this will cause you all sorts of problems.
Pen Tip: Change the pen tip, i have had this issue before, and changing the tip fixed my problems

How do I do that about the magnet? what would be the steps to solve it?
on the tip I do not think, when it happened it changes the tip for those of the spare that it brings and nothing, I still have the problem :c

They mean as in, try testing the S pen without any case on your phone.
So just have the naked phone and see if the problem is still there

Screen touch problem

This just started happening on my phone...there is a portion of the screen (near where the predictive words would appear) where the sensors do not recognize my touch (see below):

}
In the above screenshot, I scrolled from bottom of the screen all the way to the top, but notice the gap in the middle.
Do you think the sensor is damaged or is it something else? I.e., do youthink it's a hardware issue or a software one ?

I'm guessing you already tried reflashing your/another ROM...
Good luck mate, that looks nasty
It seems the rom/kernel combination I was using wasn't good. It's back to normal with a different kernel.
CORRECTION:
No, it's not back to normal. Now I'm fairly convinced that it's a hardware problem. I don't know why or how, but the problem is back.
Maybe the touch sensor is sometimes working and sometimes not. It's strange though that it's always only at that section and no where else. Maybe the problem is only localized to that particular area.

At the worst case it might be your digitizer.
Revert back to stock through nvflash and test it again. If the issue is still present and its till under warranty, send the bad boy back.
Or alternatively, you can replace the digitizer yourself. Hope all goes well man

Thanks LarsPT & Supupa for your replies and kind wishes.
Unfortunately, it is conclusively a hardware issue since going back to stock or any other rom didn't make things any better.
And I'm out of luck and have no warranty on this (since I got it second hand).
I guess I'll just have to pray that it will last me a few more weeks until the SGS3 comes out here in the States.
Thanks.
You can fix it yourself?
The digitizer is only like $50 not original but it will last for ever. If you do, get one with the frame. It will make life so much easier.
Secondly its quite easy to replace, no soldering just screws and un clipping things.
I did mine myself, very simple. Good luck bud

Thanks for the tip! I'll give that a try.
By the way, I love the Android comment in your signature. So true.

Lines covering the hardware buttons and LED

Does anyone else have faint black lines covering the hardware buttons or the LED on the black n4?
I'll try to post a picture later- they're basically the thin lines that appear on the top and bottom of the phone, but instead of stopping along/over the LED and menu/return keys, they kinda look painted over them.
I did install a tempered glass screen protector before noticing this, but if anyone else sees the same thing, please post.

It's normal. Note 3 is similar but different pattern.

It's not the same on my N3... the lines don't cover the button lights...
See my attachment.
There are black lines covering the LED as well. Certainly doesn't seem normal.

Sorry ya mines the same. But on the note 3 it isn't as noticeable because the pattern is different. It's the pattern that Samsung used that makes it too obvious.

I'm glad I have bad eye sight; I probably wouldn't of noticed it if it wasn't posted here..
thanks for making me look for it when I get my phone! :crying:
I had the same question. When i saw it i almost wanted to return the device. I can not believe they would make something like the note 4 and then ruin it with that kind of finish. I am really disappointed by the fact that they didn't keep the same style as the note 3 at least or improved it. a nice brushed aluminun look or something. anything is better then these stupid lines. it reminds me of an old crt monitor from WAY back in the day that was interlaced. just ugly.
Must be something with the black version. I have the lines also but my wife got the white version and doesn't have the lines...
Do what I do and turn off the back lights

Iris scanner misaligned

Hello,
I bought my Note 8 in Italy two weeks ago but today I noticed that the Iris scanner (as per manual, the uppermost right "lens") is a bit misaligned in its cutout.
You can see a (bad taken) photo here:

Is this normal? Should I return it?
Thank you
Depends, if it does not work as i should, return it, if it does, but you think it looks awful, also, return it

Is the iris scanner responsible also for face unlock? In that case this could explain why it works 5 out of 10 times.
If not, then I think it works as normal.
I think it bothers me more knowing it's not perfect rather than the sight of the sensor misaligned (also because, you can notice it only if you look very close).

Face unlock is crap reason why thw iphone fail.
The face unlock however uses the front camera

Mine is similar . Does not effect functionality though I noticed it on day 1.
Think the hole cut out is bigger than the lense (so it won't be blocking it)

S-Pen already loose

Noticed while tapping towards the lower half of the screen the device rattles. Noticed it's the S Pen. If I remove it then no rattles.
Just a quirk I've observed as well as slightly higher temps during casual usage. No gaming.

Rattle is from the clicker on the pen itself, not the pen rattling inside your phone. If you shake the pen itself you can barely make it out. I don't have the heating issue.
BTW, this purple is sexy A.F!!!!!?

Mine did get a little warm during setup but that's because I was adding my 8 million accounts back to back.

I'm talking about rebooting and after initial usage. Probably the way the heat sink is layed out. Gsam registers 90F when back gets warm.

Hopefully it's not the real estimated battery capacity, too soon to estimate I guess.

This type of programs are not to be trusted. You can check samsung phone info AND also don't trust it entirely, it's educated estimate only.

Xiaomi Mi 9 Lite / CC9 with proximity sensor issues

Does anybody has problems with proximity sensor (Mi 9 Lite/CC9) during a call?
My phone doesn't block the screen when I approach it to my face. I also have a Redmi Note 7 and I don't have this problem with this phone.
I dialed *#*#6484#*#* and did the proximity sensor test and it passed. It's ok. Its shows the number 0 when I get close, and 5 otherwise.
My Note 7 has a dedicated setting for proximity sensor, but not on my Mi 9 Lite.
Is there something i can do to to fix it?
I have this problem as well... Not sure how to fix it though. There's a mod called disable sensors I've been thinking of playing with, for now I can really only talk on speakerphone. Pretty irritating.
to both of you a quick (maybe stupid) question , do you have any tempered glass? If yes, might the problem is there , i had the same with nillkin tempered , i had to reinstall it more then 5 times so it can fit in the correct place.

honestly i bought the phone with the screen protector already on it, so i can't be 100 percent sure, it's hard to tell once it's on, but if i had to guess i'd say it's probably tempered glass....most are these days. it looks like it's in the right spot though, idk...i can't imagine where else i would put it. you say you had to reinstall several times...what specifically ended up being the solution?

To put it in the right place, I did it with the case on (spigen) and put it from the bottom up, we're talking about 1-2 millimeters lower.

So your theory is that the protector has to leave the sensor, or at least part of it, uncovered? Interesting. I suppose it could be. Could you show me a picture of just the verytop of your device? I'd like to see how much space should you leave between the top of the protector in the top of the phone, I don't know where the sensor is exactly.
