I have an unrooted stock Android 8.0, Samsung Experience 9.0, Factory unlocked UK note 8.
My SD card failed which I replaced. However it left behind icons in the app drawer that were on my old SD card.
When I try to delete them it says app not found. I tried to reinstall from the play store those that I knew what they were but I would get a message that it can't install because there is an incompatible version already installed.
I was able to install apks that I side loaded from the internet then uninstalled then installed from the play store.
The problem is that some don't have labels and some are pay apps which I have paid for but can't get the apk.
My question is, how do I get rid of the icons.View attachment 4475983View attachment 4475984

greets from germany
great question, i would like to know the same thing too, I do not want to install the newest facebook updates, but the market keeps showing me updates available.
it´s more an annoyance than a problem, really - but if there IS a way to "fix" it, then I would like to know
If your device is rooted, use root explorer to pull the app's apk file from data/apps to a folder somewhere on your sd card. Then, uninstall the app, and sideload the apps you pulled out earlier. It will not have a connection to the market this way.

in other words: make a copy of apk, uninstall, mv backuped apk to old place?
unfortunately, that does not work. at least it does not ALWAYS work.
because that is exactly what I already did - I hated the new Facebook app, so I downloaded the old version 1.5.2 APK from our german Android forums, and sideloaded it - but it still shows up in the Market with the red "update" text beside it.
just found something, that seems to work.
go to market, cklick update, abort download, --> disconnect
worked for me 2 times now. but i use froyo with old market...do not know if it works for the new ones.
Not move backup back into data/app, but install the apk from SD.

Titanium Backup can detach and reattach apps from the market. Do a long press on the app to get the menu with that option.

today i face the same problem with my android market which got update to the new version "play store" but by using my application root uninstaller i'm able to reinstall it again but the gallery not install it's keep saying application not install

i'm not able to use it
it's not easy to rest my phone every time because the gallery is gone
how to resolve this and what is the cos of galley to be not there
can you advice
i attached snapshot of my mobile info
Regarding the market, boot after the update and notice that instead of market you should have play store in the app list. If there is something wrong with your gallery apk you could try flashing gapps.

now i'm using only
Quickpic for browsing my album
rather that the
Try to get into Settings -> Applications -> Manage Aplications and then select the "All" tab. Here you will see the Gallery app and the new Google Play Store app. Select each of them and click on clear data/cache.
This should solve your problem.
I have a Bionic on 4.0.4 ICS and am running CM10 (I think, I don't remember and I just got my computer back from Geek Squad and they deleted my entire 'ROOT' folder... thanks Best Buy). Anyway, I keep running into a problem when trying to download new apps from the Play Store or updating existing apps, I get a notice saying "Insufficient Storage Space) and thus cannot install the app or update. When I go look at the storage on my phone, it shows that I have 2.97GB available, so I'm failing to see where there isn't enough room to download a 21MB update. Anyone know what is going on here? I've tried wiping Cache and Dalvik and it doesn't seem to do anything for this issue, if that matters.
Also, I just ran into this right after I posted this, but I downloaded a cycling app called Strava, and it downloaded and installed successfully (even when other apps wouldn't) but when I try to launch the app, I get a notification saying, "Your device does not seem to support Google Play Services." WTF? I just downloaded this app FROM the Play Store! WTF is the story here?!

There is a file called "lost.dir" takes up a lot of space and doesn't do anything .try deleting that and see if that helps

Thanks for the reply. I did that but it didn't help.

If you've used lucky patcher, this problem will arise... try deleting odex file of the application you are trying to update... in root / data / app and you are done..

FIX~ ‘Insufficient storage available‘ Error
Luckily, I found a fix for this problem in lucky patcher. Lucky patcher is actually a third party app to crack/patch paid Google play apps.
So here’s how you can fix this error. Your device must be rooted to be able to use lucky patcher.
How to fix Insufficient storage available error in Android
1. Download Lucky Patcher
2. Place lucky patcher into your SD card and install it using any file manager you prefer.
3. Run it and then press menu key and go to Troubleshooting.
4. Choose Remove fixes and backups and then finally reboot your device to fix this dreadful error.

I have looked everywhere for a fix, tried just about everything. I got rid of lucky patcher before I seen this, now I can't even download it again without it saying the error message. Any thoughts? I reeeally don't wanna do a factory reset and re download all my apps and have it not work

Thank you so my friend
Okay so before I get told to look at other threads I have, Multiple times and I have tried using the Lucky Patcher but I can't find the 'remove fixes and backups.' option anywhere.
Since I first downloaded it and rooted my phone I have not been able to update Snapchat or even install the Holo Version
This is also happening with other apps such as Facebook but not all.
It downloads fine, I probably have downloaded it 10 times now but it is the Installation where I get the error.
I was fine with this because I didn't care for updates but somehow randomly disappeared.
I didn't have enough room for a backup and I don't know how to install my Nandroid Backup or even where it is in general.
Has anyone got a fix, when I tried lucky patcher I couldn't find the 'remove fixes and backups' under troubleshooting.
There is a possible fix. Use a root file explorer to navigate to /data/app-lib. Find the specific folders for the apps which can be installed and remove those folders. That normally should fix it.

Hello, I know this is an old thread now.
However, I've been having an insufficient storage issue on my Galaxy S3 GTI9300.
It was happening with both Snapchat & Facebook. I tried every suggestion I could find on the web, deleting cache, dalvik, moving apps to external SD card, lucky patcher (no remove fixes and backups option anyway) and blah blah blah, I've deleted everything I dare to from the internal storage, it's now showing 4.65GB available. The only suggestion that half-worked was browsing to my /data/app-lib folder using a file manager and enabling root explorer. I deleted everything I could find for Snapchat and Facebook and for Snapchat, it has worked, I can now install updates from the play store. But for Facebook, the issue persists!
I'm on a custom ROM by the way, called Sentinel ROM V 6.0 (Android 4.4.2).
I'm on the verge of doing a factory reset and installing either this ROM or another custom one from fresh. Is there anything else I can try before doing this?
Ok, so I have a rooted note 3. Everything seemed fine. Flashed the stock Lollipop rom from the thread here on XDA. Flashed the OC1 and OC2 updates. Phone boots fine and is working great except for one thing. I tried adding the swiftkey app, and it loads fine, but it doesn't automatically install the language pack. When I try to download the language pack from within swiftkey, it downloads, but says that it can't save it. This also happens with other apps that have downloadable content within them (boot animations app, rom manager app, Zedge app, etc). Does anyone have any ideas on what would cause this. Had rooted phones for many years, and never had this sort of problem.
Thanks in advance.
You need to run an app that will allow the SD card to be used for storage. I use next app SD card fix.
