Hello! Am I the only one who experienced lag and bad framrates on games on my p10 vtr-l29?
An example of a game that has bad framrates for me is PUBG.
maybe a reason

You may see the same problem but you have to take into account the following:
1. the GPU is a Mali G71MP8 (has 8 pipelines) at 600MHz (with a boost of 900MHz)
2. Games like PUBG are very new and at the same time very poorly optimized as you can see since they must adapt everything to that GPU and other models you still have to give them time.
3. The MP8 model is not the most powerful of Mali in MHz, unlike other mobiles compared to the few models of the Adreno GPU.
PD: Remember there is only one Adreno 530, mali have G71MP2,8,12,20.
and Huawei is not that good of pushing their devices to games....for now.
PUBG is not optimized for some GPUs, I played it myself with my P10 with medium graphics and high framerate, not very smooth but playable. It's worth it to wait for them to optimize it

did anyone try this yet?
http://www.gameloft.com/android-games/modern-combat-2-black-pegasus/
its one of the best 3d games i ever played on android, my desire HD is running it blazing fast
however gameloft downgraded the graphics for the qualcomm version, it seems gameloft decided to give priority to the hummingbird devices
compared to the galaxy S version, it lacks reflections on the weapons, character shadows, a blur effect when hit by bullets and maybe more stuff
i don't understand why gameloft keep releasing the same version for both the old snapdragon and 2nd gen snapdragon devices
seeing how crazy fast the frame rate is running on the DHD, its obvious the adreno 205 can do much more

i have this game too its great, but gameloft have reasons for that, adreno cant shift half as many polygons as the powervr in the galaxy series, just look at ashpalt 5, even the DHD can only just run it with minimal slowdown, but the galaxy version looks amazing with reflections on the cars and more realistic tarmac, and powervr runs it with no hickups at all. i like my DHD though, if i wanted to play games that badly, id just fire up my xbox

i dont agree about asphalt 5 the dhd runs all gameloft games at very high frame rates, modern combat 2 is running at 60fps without a hiccup once
but i didnt know even asphalt is downgraded in terms of effects
my point is adreno 205 is quit capable and samsung figures about the power vr chipset are not accurate

its not just gameloft games, for example the galaxy s verson of NFS Shift looks amazing compared to the snapdragon version. it doesnt help that devs can't be arsed making better looking games for our version of adreno, they just make a snapdragon version. so ours our dumbed down so the desire and evo can play them
exactly my point, adreno was much improved with model 205, but i don't see gameloft bothering
by the way NFS can be hacked to play in high resolution
someone posted the hack a while ago in this forum, i tried it and it really works
maybe we can mix the galaxy S gameloft games with the snapdragon ones the same way

yes Motorola has their version from gameloft or at least its own SD cache
I was trying Asphalt 8 yesterday and found out that the game lags when playing on the highest graphics.
I don't think this should be the case when we have a Adreno 330 along with a Snapdragon 801 ?
Anyone else experiencing this in Asphalt 8 or any other game ?
I feel my Z3 Compact performance is no where near the performance at Snapdragon 801 is supposed to give. This phone to date is supposed to be one of the fastest Graphic performers and should be able to play games like Ashphalt 8, NOVA 3, Modern Combat and those mainstream graphical games at 60FPS no problem as i've seen in other phones with Snapdragon 801 like the S5, One PlusOne, HTC One M8 etc but my phone seems to play these games like bout 30-40FPS and when a menu transition happens it's really choppy.
Even though this phone is also 720P and with benchmarks on websites like PhoneArena, GSMArena they have scores on geekbench 3 bout 3K while my one is 2.2K constantly, GFX 2.7 (T-Rex Onscreen) bout 40FPS while my one is like 25FPS. Performance is definitely noticeably slow.
I notice that on CPU-Z app that my GPU frequency never exceeds 330MHz, i wonder if you guys are like this too and also my Governer thing is on Interative if that's normal?
I have conducted these results without Stamina mode or performance restriction on. Nor is it rooted or anything.

Disable Stamina and restart. Worked for me
Sent from my D5833 using XDA Free mobile app
I have same problem, but not in the benchmarks, my gpu stocks at 330 Mhz while playing games. Actually maximum frequency shown in cpuz is 330! This is weird.

Is this a joke
There is no game that would cause lag on this phone...

Agreed.. normally... but i'm having issues with this specific device... not sure if it's just me.. check out my download speed test vs the p20pro
For the third time I'm disappointed with Real Racing 3. By default, it doesn't render at even 1080p resolution. I've had the same issue with HTC Butterfly s and Sony Xperia Z5. To add to this, the aliasing of the graphics is extremely bad. Fortunately with the Note 9, this can be changed with the Game Tuner app, although it leaves a persistent "ingamepopupservice" notification. The aliasing is still bad so while the textures look full-res the game still looks worse than 1080p. Performance is good, though there are occasional stutters.
Bowling by Jason Belmonte - this is just a bowling game but one of the most demanding despite its simple graphics (probably due to the physics engine run on Unity). It struggled to run on my Xperia Z5 due to thermal throttling but here I was able to play it for a long time with no performance issues. The only issue I've had is the ball return screen is not optimized for the display. There's some very occasional stutters but the game remains running at 60fps. The stuters are more apparent if you reduce CPU usage with power saver.
Aside from this I'm also getting a volume issue with some games after a period of time the volume of the speakers dip and the audio quality becomes somewhat muffled.
For RR3, I recommend you download the third-party app RR3 Graphics settings and set it to "Average Higher". You lose a bit on the glossy reflections of the cars, but the aliasing is somewhat less apparent and the game looks cleaner overall.
On the other hand, Asphalt 9 has poor aliasing regardless of graphics settings.
Game performance is the reason I swapped exynos for snapdragon
Exynos is under even the lowest expectations for that price range
Look at the attached video

Looks more like an optimization issue rather than performance, which still sucks. Take a look at this article: https://www.anandtech.com/show/13582/samsung-galaxy-note9-performance-review-snapdragon-vs-exynos
Asphalt 9 performance is mediocre if I force the game to render at 1440p and overclock. Real Racing needs to be set to medium graphics but otherwise run. Gear Club looks amazing, but I must change HW Performance on Game Tuner to +3 to get consistent performance (was able to play for over 1 hour, with almost no frame drops).
Sure, these games may run better at 1080p, but I paid for a 1440p phone and expect it to run such. Once you install Game Tuner you'll see that most games run at 75% resolution by default, which is only 1080p.

Interesting, didn't know that GPU is SO WEAK,we knew it's WEAKER than Adreno 630. Especially that some games run just fine(Shadow Fight 3)....

Should be similar to the other Mali GPU devices
The Qualcomm adreno is unmatched (it's an anagram of Radeon as Qualcomm bought the initial ip from and)
If you buy your phone to play games... There's no reason to buy anything other than a snapdragon with an adreno you
Otherwise it makes little difference in real life use
As far as I remember... Qualcomm was always behind on CPU benches but generations ahead on GPU performance and efficiency
Well nowadays they're ahead in cpu department too....cuz you compare 970 with 845,and 980 w 855(or whatever his name is).
Regarding buying phone for gaming I agree. In the segment up to 500-600$. Anything more than that it should be a complete package...phone that is capable of everything equally capable...and competitive with rivals. Ofc that's in my ideal world
