For anyone still looking, I found the following most helpful:
1) Get TWRP on your P9
https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/development/twrp-t3565703
then
2) Get SuperSU on your P9
https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/development/root-supersu-2-81-emui-5-t3612258
Note: If you use the wrong versions of adb, TWRP or SuperSU, it will fail somewhere along the way. I had encountered not being able to boot into TWRP, or failing to get SuperSU flashed.

SuperSU won't work for OUKITEL mix 2?

Yep, I used https://needrom.com/download/twrp-for-oukitel-mix-2/ this tutorial but I wanted to use SU because I hoped it would allow me to do more things. Everytime I Flashed SU from recovery it said Extracting Ramdisk failure, abort.

I don't currently use Magisk and all I can provide you is the following General Q&A Magisk thread for support regarding Magisk.

Be sure that you provide a more specific detail as to what you did and what the results were specifically. Of course, without writing a best selling novel... LOL!

Bluetooth pairings lost after reboot

Hi,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 with these characteristics:
- Model G920FXXU6ERC2
- Android 7.0
- Exposed 89
- Build NRD90M.G920FXXU6ERC1
The problem is that since I installed Xposed framework All Bluetooth paired devices automatically disappear after every reboot. So I have to repair everything back again every single day.
This is what I tried already:
1. Fresh clean Odin installed firmware.
2. Root device. Move the custom lib files to their respectable positions (device/system/lib) and (device/system/lib64).
3. Modify build.prop to turn off secure storage (adding “ro.securestorage.support=false” at the end of the file).
4. Install xposed
5. Wipe data
6. Reboot.
However, that did not work. Is there a way to fix this issue?
Thanks.

I don't have this device but, I remembered seeing something on Github regarding this specific device and the same issue...
I found the following (same issue with the same device) reported on Rovo89's XPosed in Github.
https://github.com/rovo89/Xposed/issues/294
There's conversations regarding it there with some fixes provided by Wanam that may/may not work for you but, it's a known issue by Rovo89 that's still open there.
Good Luck!

Thanks for your help but I that's the thread that I have been following to test out possible solutions. However. Nothing mentioned there has worked. I guess if I want to use Xposed modules I will have to get used to pairing my bluetooth devices every day.

Yea i read all that thread previously, what they are saying basically is that System-Mode can't be achieved anymore, i even tried imaging the Boot partition with the SELinux patch after systemless root, reflashing SuperSU with system-mode then rewriting the backed up Boot partition and also had no success, it's really frustrating.

Have you tried asking within one of the Root Guides located on the device dedicated area of the forum for the S8+?
Or even the following Q&A thread that's specific to your device and variants.

With the limited information here, maybe a member with this specific device may be able to provide you with some guidance.

Hey, i found a solution
After days of digging and searching and with no reply on other threads on xda i finally found the solution for anyone wondering how to achieve this,
1- First you have to have any custom rom and the reason for this is to have all stock security patches removed/disabled otherwise your SU binaries will survive root but when executing them after Factory Reset, it will just hang and won't execute
2- Flash your SuperSU with the following option executed in TWRP recovery as pointed out by "ChainFire"
Factory reset protection / survival
With the FRP setting enabled (default on the Pixel, manually enable by doing echo "FRP=true">>/data/.supersu in a root shell for other devices), systemless root will survive a factory reset (/data wipe). Note that any updates to the su binaries installed by Play Store updates to SuperSU will be lost.
3- After that, you can safely wipe your device and the SU binaries will survive without the SuperSU app, thus giving you SU execution without prompt
Thank you @Ibuprophen for the assistance
