XDA IIi - no sound when syncronized

Hi Guys,
I'm a newbie with XDA IIi, just use it less than 1 month. I have a problem when I syncronize the device to the computer; there is no sound when I answer the call. The mobile is rings, but when I answer I did'nt find any sound from the caller. The device connected by USB Cable/Charger not by Cradle.
Note, that I have updated the ROM with PUG's ROM (Alpine_Ext-1.11.162_Radio-1.04_O2stuffstripped_Camera_Fixed - thanks to PUG), but the problem is still done.
Thanks for help

Sounds like a hardware problem...
If you just got the unit brand new and just replaced with a different ROM, I'm not sure if the warranty is voided.
But if it isn't, you can have it replaced or repaired from where you bought it from.
Thanks for reply. It's not a brand new, but the used one, I bought it without cradle and original charger, so must use the USB cable data for syncronizing and charging. Do you think it will be solved if I use the original cradle?
Basing on your first post, I don't think it will be solved just by using an original cradle.
Does your phone still work if it's not connected (USB/charger connected)?
If it does still work it might be software based. You could try returning the original ROM.
If it still does not work, it maybe hardware failure.
I've encountered the same problem many times. I use the USB cable and the docking port. I thought it was a usual issue, so I just unplug the cable before answering any calls.
I've same problem here, but not with my original dock, but only happen if i connect my PDA to PC using USB cable (I bought it seperatly). But if i connect using original craddle it have no problems at all.
Hi, Im having the same issue. Using the original ROM I didnt have this problem. But after upgrading using Deathnoise's ROM the sound no longer works when the USB cable is in. This a major pain, can anyone think what changes made in the updated ROM could have caused this?
Hi
Using an original O2 XDAIIi and an aftermarket USB Sync/charge cable i have no sound when connected, trifle annoying as i am using it to sync a third party mail application and don't get any audible notification. Don't have the cradle to hand to test with so can't pass any comment if that works or not.
The only upgrade was the official ROM upgrade from O2.
It's likely to be the connections on the plug end itself. See this thread I found on the subject, http://forum.xda-developers.com/arch.../t-245857.html, and this one for the connections. http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index...ame=Connectors.
I had the same problem, I cut both loop wires that go from pin 2, to pins 5 & 18 (on mine, the only two that looped back) and everything worked fine after that.
No sounds when answer phone from cradle
I have the same problem and I work around by sliding the volume button up and down after I remove the phone from the cradle and before answering the call. It is an annoying bug but I get use to it after a while. Now it is my habit to slide the volume button up and down every time I remove the phone from the cradle.

Diamond stalls after awhile when connected to car radio

Hi all, I want to use my Diamond as a USB stick to connect to my car radio, wich has an USB port. When I connect as diskdrive it seems to work fine, I can play songs from the 4GB internal mem. But when I leave a song on for a few minutes, it seems to lose connection, and then I need to unplug the USB to get it to work again. Ofcourse it doesn't continue where it left off, so it's pretty annoying. A friend of mine who has a Diamond and a USB car radio has the same problem. Does this sound familiar to anyone, and is there a fix for this? Many thanks.
did anyone find a solution for this?

Tytn II charging and usb problem?

Hi guys,
i have one very strange problem regarding TYTN II. It is almost new device, barely used but following things are happening:
1. Can not be charged while it is switched ON. In order to charge the battery i have to turn device OFF and than to connect it to the charger. Red light is instantly on and charging.
2. While it is ON and i connect it to the PC using USB cable, it is not recognized from operating system (it is not charging as well, it will charge though if i switch it OFF, same as with charger)
I can connect to my Tytn II using bluetooth and i have some questions.
Can i do HARDSPL 7 while conected to Tytn II via Bluetooth?
I want to upgrade my ROM using upgrade from SD card because obviously upgrade can not be performed using USB cable.
I did hard reset before i put this issue on the forum, can this be caused by the software or only hardware?
Thanks for input.
Jeremija
Check the settings->System->power. check whether the option "When device is turned on,do not charge the battery when connected to the pc" is selected. if so unselect it.
Already did that before first post, that option is not selected.
It is not only charging but TYTN II is not recognized while connected to the computer via usb cable.
this tytn ii is getting charged only and only if it is switched OFF, source can be computer or original charger.
I can get connected via bluetooth for data and my other question is if i can do HARDSPL 7 through bluetooth conection?
thanks.

If its vista system then you probably need to disable the advanced USb functionality and try again.
To your next question, i havent seen anything till now that talks about flashing through bluetooth.
it is happening on both, vista and xp.
that is interesting question actually. Did anyone tried to flash over bluetooth connection, without using cable?
I would certainly prefer to use cable but my tytn ii does not get recognized when connected with the cable.
thanks
What have you done on the PCs to prepare them first?
Have you installed the software in the box on your PC before connecting the USB cable (Activesync 4.5) for Win XP desktops or the latest Windows Mobile Device Centre for Windows Vista? You need these before it'll connect/sync even though it's possible to use bluetooth without it.
Yes, on XP is installed Active Sync 4.5 and on vista i am using is latest Windows mobile device center.
Did you try disabling Advanced Network Functionality on the phone?
So other than trying what was already suggested and disabling Advanced Network functionality on the phone, I think it's time to call your countries HTC Support people.
FWIW whether or not you can use Advanced Networking Functionality is determined by the capability of the USB ports on your desktop PC. When I first got my TyTN II I couldn't get it to connect/sync at all and through trial and experimentation I came across the disable advanced networking workaround. Even with it disabled though I still found my Activesync connections to be unreliable and subject to frequent disconnections. I was using the native (and old as the hills) Via Appolo Pro USB 1.1 ports on my motherboard. I decided to upgrade to USB 2.0 so installed a quality NEC chipped PCI USB 2.0 adapter card. That means I now can use Enhanced Networking Functionality and I have not had an Activesync connection fail since. It was well woth the £9 it cost me for the card.
Everything is clear, thank you very much for your replies and advices. I`ll try to find HTC authorized service and let them judge
Thanks once again.

Is WiFi on?
My Vodafone v1615 (Kaiser) will not connect over USB if WiFi is enabled. No connection problem when WiFi is disabled via Comm Manager. Suggest you try this.
I tried everything i could think of, with or without sim card, with flight mode on, with GSM on but wireless off, name combination i tried it. Gave the phone to the friend who has exactly same model to try with his battery and if that does not work than i`m out of ideas except to send it for service.
I also noticed that if i leave phone on charger and OFF, red light lit for charging.
It can sit on charger for 24 hours but light does not change color to green (Full battery) but remains red.
I believe there is a problem either with battery or some component which is tightly connected to the usb socket/battery.
Will post results on monday/tuesday when i get my phone back.
Thanks everyone for input.

Same Problem
Just so you know i have EXACTLEY the same problem as you Jeremija... i have NO idea what is Causing it have you had any glory yet??

Same problem as well
I just got my phone yesterday, and it had the same problem out of the box
it will not charge unless it's completely off, and it will not sync through a usb cable, when i connect it through USB it just keeps restarting, If anyone can come up with a solution short of returning my brand new phone back to the factory I would greatly appreciate it
USB charge & sync problem
What you have with your phones must be a hardware defect. I have the exact same problem with my Tytn II, but I know how it happened -- out of full stupidity. While at work, I connected it to a mini USB plug to charge, however to my surprise I found out that it was not 5v but 12v. I bought two external chargers and two extra batteries and I've been carrying around a pair of charged batteries since then. To be honest, because the phone notoriously drains the batteries very quickly having spare batteries is more practical than pluging it in and waiting for it to charge.

USB Data connection no longer works

This is a really strange one that I've never heard of happening before. Whenever I plug my Diamond into a computer via USB, Windows says "USB device not recognised". In the past, when transferring files, the connection would just cut out at times and I would need to unplug and plug the phone back in to get it to work.
The strange thing is that the charging and audio from the port still works.
I have done a hard reset before and it hasn't fixed the issue, I really don't want to have to send this back to HTC as I need my phone.

I've been working with another member on this issue. Go here and read through my suggestions and see if one helps. The first thing I would try, is to uninstall sync manager and all drivers for the phone from your pc. Then, connect the phone and see if it reinstalls sync and the drivers. I hope this helps.

I think is problem is large. After update htc one sucks. no doubt it added some great features. Or it may be hardware prob as always with HTC specially with HTC one X
usb problem
mine has also stopped working. does charge but not connecting to computer . running xp so drivers ok . definitely phone problem as friends htc one connects fine..
Disable usb debugging, it will connect
Sent from my One using xda app-developers app
usb problem
thanks , but tried everything. wont connect in fastboot, recovery or anything. cannot relock bootloader or return to stock so just returning it for warranty as it is with fingers crossed. unless someone can tell me if possible without connecting to pc.
are you using a usb 3.0 port
usb problem
usb 2.0 . i have two friends with htc one's and they both connect just fine.
Same issue here! Last night pulled my phone out and it said "incompatible charger, please use original charger". I wasn't even charging the phone, and now it wont charge or connect to PC unless the phone is off. Tried turning off debug/developer/power save/fastboot/ etc with no luck so far.
