Hello all, I've had my Sony XP for a while on 6.0.1 Marshmellow (rooted) and wanted to try another ROM. I've had a few Android phones previously.
What's this ODM that everyone says to flash first? Is it referring to stock FTF or a stock/vanilla factory reset? I haven't heard of ODM on LG or Samsung phones I've flashed custom ROMs on (mainly from the old 4.4 Kitkat era).
Thanks in advance and if it's been answered, a link would be greatly appreciated.

i tried looking for it myself but couldn't find working links. thanks in advance!
p.s: if someone happens to have lolipop stock(!) unrooted firmware it might come to aid at a later stage. currently i just want to update to 4.4.4.
thanks in advance!
Hi, I got this Sony Xperia Z1s which I want to upgrade to lollipop, currently its android version is 4.4.2 the model of z1 is SO-01F (Docomo). Can someone please guide me to a step by step guide for installing lollipop ROM or a stable marshmallow for this model.
ps: I have tried the Xperia Companion, it has updated its software but android version remained the same

To upgrade to a newer version of Android (and enjoy Material Design), you must flash a custom ROM. Head to the Android Development section and flash a ROM that works with a locked bootloader. If you unlocked your device's bootloader, you can enjoy CM/AOSP-based ROMs. Read the OP of the thread or read THIS for instructions on how to flash. Ensure you have a saved backup somewhere and your device's battery is >50%.
Marshmallow on the Xperia Z1/s is not stable; from what I see, it'll never be.

So if I find a ROM that works with a locked bootloader, I wouldn't have to bother about the difference in Xperia Z1's model?
