You try booting to bootloader or hold power button for a while?
I'm just thinking about my Moto g(3) when I don't use it for a while, it gets super dead. The notification light blinks then when it's sits on the charge for a while. It pops up.

I think I'm hosed...

Hi guys.. tonight I was WiFi tethering my revo to my tablet while it was charging in my car. After 20 minutes, my phone rebooted. It was hot. REALLY hot!
After the reboot, my battery said that it was completely empty (it was 76% full when it rebooted) and shut down. Now it wont even charge when its plugged in, nor will it power up at least to do a reset.
I've tried pulling the battery, I've tried pulling the 4g sim card and powering it up that way, I've tried plugging it in without the battery and powering it up that way. Bottom line is that when you plug it in, it gets no juice now. Have any of you experienced this?
Is my revo officially dead? I'm on a stock rooted ZV7 vanilla build.
If this is a lost cause, I'm thinking that ill be getting the Nexus. Love this community! Sad i cant be a part of it by applying all the goodness that has come from this collective! Thank you for all that you have done to make the revo as great a tool as it was.

Happened to me, your phone is fine but the battery isn't. Check the white temperature indicator on the battery, if its red then your battery is fried. Temp indicator is by the terminals on the battery. Its supposed to be white with a red criss cross pattern on it. If yours is all red or pink then its done for.

I had this happen with a phone too and it was ruined...

It may have been...but the phone was affected. Got a new battery, plugged it into the wall charger, and the new battery was fried in 20 minutes.
I posted a separate thread with this question...but is it possible that an app can cause the phone to do this? My first instinct is to say no...but I find myself questioning that.

I don't think any app could possibly do that to a battery. Have you tried looking at the terminals on the phone to see if they're burnt up or anything? The first time it happened it was plugged in to a car charger, then the second time a wall plugin, right?

Yea, basically... In a nutshell, Verizon overnighted me a new Revo - Got it yesterday and I'm in the process of Rooting it again.. (thank god it came loaded with ZV7, but I would have just used the TOT file I guess)
Upon inspecting the old phone, I saw no evidence of scorching or burns.. The phone just got REEALY HOT.... The tech presumed that because of the heat and circumstances, it could have burned out the CPU. Hence the reason the phone isn't even turning on now.
In any case, I have a replacement, so I'll be staying with this fine community!
I appreciate all that you guys do here for this phone! Thank you for all the assistance!

I'm pretty sure that's for water damage.. Or is it for the battery in general or just does both?
I've had expedience with phone stores and when you bring a phone in they pop the back off and check the little thing on both the one on the battery and phone and if either one is solid they say its water damaged and deny you anything.
Can I get some clarification?
Same thing just happened to my phone a couple of days ago.
Battery indicator strip as well as the indicator on the phone are both still white with red X's.
My battery was at 8%, so I plugged it into the charger in my car - decided a couple of minutes later to put some music on, and the phone just shut itself off, never to return again ;_;
Easily could have been an overheating issue, as this phone gets hot VERY easily when doing ANYTHING while it is charging.
Are you using a case for your phone? I've got a body glove for mine and it doesn't overheat.

Battery died, wont turn back on

So my battery died yesterday and I plugged the phone into the wall to let it charge overnight. I wake up this morning and it wont turn on. LED is green but that's it. Any suggestions?
Use the charger that it came with only. This has happened to me a few times and i feeds it's a high amp charger cuz all others will show the green light and not charge, but the one from the box allows it to get to the M logo. hope it helps

same thing happened to me, use the OEM charger.
Thanks guys, it also seems I has to plug it directly into the AC outlet, I have a 3-outlet surge protector that I usually have it plugged into and I got nowhere there, but it's on and at the charging screen now.
I would try doing a hard reset with it plugged in.
Just hold the power and vol up and vol down all together
Clearly he got it working man.

Just need a factory cable to flash it back to stock then let it charge and reflash whatever rom you want.
Once again.. Way late man. The hell.

I let my battery run dry and now phone won't charge.

So my phone turned off from being out of battery and now it won't charge. I was able to power it up again for a few minutes and it was not charging and there was some error that said something like "Phone won't charge, please use stock charger". What do?
Update: I charged it overnight while off and it was able to charge back to 100%. However, it is still unable to charge while it is on or off (for a short amount of time plugged in at least). Not sure if letting it sit for hours like when I charged it overnight would work.
bump
Just keep it plugged to the charger. Some time when the battery is really dead, it takes a while for it to get charge and turn on the device. Try it. If it still doesn't work, send it in.

Plug it in using the charger and cord that came with it. Leave it plugged in for a hour. Orange LED will come on eventually well hopefully.
Don't calibrate the battery again.

Some questions about charging an HTC one

Hello friends, I just bought an HTC one and I'd like to say that I'm having a great time with it. But I do have some questions about how to properly charge it, because I've read just about every theory about how to charge it.
Should I wait for it to get to 0% and then charge it, and should it charto to 100% or a bit less;
Can I keep the phone on while charging, or should I turn it off?;
Can I use it while charging?;
Is it bad if I let it charge at night while I'm sleeping and plug it off when I wake up.
Thanks in advance to anyone who helped me!

my phone sits in a desktop cradle all night on charge and almost never goes below 40% in a long days usage. most of the time my phone is somewhere between 100 and 70% battery.

discharging to 0 and charging it to 100% is used for battery calibration (once or twice a month)
you can use your phone while charging but will take more time to charge
no it is safe to let it charge whole night because of the trickle charging

About that trickle charge, if I let the phone charge all night and turned on, the trickle charge basically does nothing right? because the charger stops charging when the battery gets full right? But if the is on, every time it gets to 100%, it stops charging and starts losing battery, and then it charges again, and so on.... Is it true?

trickle charge will happen no matter screen is OFF or ON
i charge my phone with Daydream ON and it discharges after full
trickle charge happens when battery is 100% and then it doesn't charge and discharge upto 90% and starts charging again, IMO

[Q] New battery for xt894 or not?

hello,
i'm thinking to change the battery of my xt894 (not enough power for me), and i saw this battery http://m.ebay.it/itm/121306473286?nav=SEARCH what do you think about? could this one gave me problem on phone?
I have it... and it last longer ... like a 15 - 20% than the original.
I ordered mine too! How did you install it? Drain first the original battery? And the install? Or does Android reset the statts for the battery by itself?

guessing you got a bad battery, unless you damaged to battery screw posts on phone, but seems unlikely.

I bought used Droid 4 last month. Battery seems to be in good state (2-2,5 days of light use), but every time it gets to ~40% it immediately drops to 20% (within few seconds). Is there a way to delete battery stats so it can detect percentage correctly? I tried to discharge it completely and recharge again but it didn't help.
Phone is running CM11. Any help appreciated.

if battery's charge is very low, it could take a while to show any change. Normally batteries has some charge, but who know when the battery was made and packaged, could have been a couple of years ago. I would leave connected to wall charger over night.

droid 4 doesnt require a new rear cover but it will wear out quickly if you remove it frequently. you can even keep the phone without a rear cover if youd like because the stock battery has a glue that holds it together with the phone along with the screws for the flex cable
