Battery died, wont turn back on - Motorola Atrix HD

So my battery died yesterday and I plugged the phone into the wall to let it charge overnight. I wake up this morning and it wont turn on. LED is green but that's it. Any suggestions?

Use the charger that it came with only. This has happened to me a few times and i feeds it's a high amp charger cuz all others will show the green light and not charge, but the one from the box allows it to get to the M logo. hope it helps

same thing happened to me, use the OEM charger.

Thanks guys, it also seems I has to plug it directly into the AC outlet, I have a 3-outlet surge protector that I usually have it plugged into and I got nowhere there, but it's on and at the charging screen now.

I would try doing a hard reset with it plugged in.
Just hold the power and vol up and vol down all together

Clearly he got it working man.

Clearly he did but what if someone else has a similar issue buddy

Well your solution won't work if it is dead.

Fixed
Just need a factory cable to flash it back to stock then let it charge and reflash whatever rom you want.

Once again.. Way late man. The hell.

Battery too low to power on

I have a nook color 1.1 autonootered with I think autonooter 3.0. I left it sleeping for a few days. I know get a message telling me that the battery is too low to power on. Please wait 15 minutes and try again.
Well its been plugged in for over 2 hours now using the wall charger and I'm still getting this message. I tried searching for this issue but I didn't find anything usefull. (I haven't mastered getting a relevant search using the xda app)
Any help in fixing this is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Are you using the charger that came with the Nook? If so did the nook led on the cord light up?
I am having battery problems aswell. I have read several other posts about people having battery issues. When i plug my nook in it charges, however when the screen turns off it stops charging it. The only way for me to charge it is to keep my screen on always... devs could you all confirm it is a software issue?

I'm at work currently all I have on me is my phone charger. I will have to try the charger it came with when I get home. I honestly just wish the screen would stay black. It seems kinda counter productive that the screen is on nonstop telling me the battery is to low. Lol. I really hope it isn't bricked.
Has anyone heard of bricking these in this way?

The Nook charger is the only one that charged mine. I tried a kindle charger and and my phone charger and they didn't work.
Thanks for the info. Even though I'm not happy about having to have another charger laying around I really hope this is the problem. I will post back when I can get it plugged into the correct charger to let ya know if it worked.

I plugged it into the computer using a usb cable. That did the trick! Booted up after about 5 minutes. Blahhh looks like I am going to have to buy a batman utility belt for all these chargers and cords I'm going to have to have.

WHAT? Just use the Nook Charger and cable, PERIOD. Anything else will only charge at .5A vs the 1.9A the NC charger puts out.
This is why it took a long time... It may charge 5%/hr on a .5A connection where it charges at 25%/hr or so on the NC charger.
I'm having the same issue. I plugged it into my note 2 charger which is 2.0A 5V charger... Been 30 minutes and nothing...

Even though you are using a different 2 amp charging block, it will not charge fast without the BN Nook cable. It has an extended micro USB connector with additional power pins to deliver the full 2 amps to charge the NC. Non Nook cables will only charge at 0.5 amps max.

I think I'm hosed...

Hi guys.. tonight I was WiFi tethering my revo to my tablet while it was charging in my car. After 20 minutes, my phone rebooted. It was hot. REALLY hot!
After the reboot, my battery said that it was completely empty (it was 76% full when it rebooted) and shut down. Now it wont even charge when its plugged in, nor will it power up at least to do a reset.
I've tried pulling the battery, I've tried pulling the 4g sim card and powering it up that way, I've tried plugging it in without the battery and powering it up that way. Bottom line is that when you plug it in, it gets no juice now. Have any of you experienced this?
Is my revo officially dead? I'm on a stock rooted ZV7 vanilla build.
If this is a lost cause, I'm thinking that ill be getting the Nexus. Love this community! Sad i cant be a part of it by applying all the goodness that has come from this collective! Thank you for all that you have done to make the revo as great a tool as it was.

Happened to me, your phone is fine but the battery isn't. Check the white temperature indicator on the battery, if its red then your battery is fried. Temp indicator is by the terminals on the battery. Its supposed to be white with a red criss cross pattern on it. If yours is all red or pink then its done for.

It may have been...but the phone was affected. Got a new battery, plugged it into the wall charger, and the new battery was fried in 20 minutes.
I posted a separate thread with this question...but is it possible that an app can cause the phone to do this? My first instinct is to say no...but I find myself questioning that.

I don't think any app could possibly do that to a battery. Have you tried looking at the terminals on the phone to see if they're burnt up or anything? The first time it happened it was plugged in to a car charger, then the second time a wall plugin, right?

Yea, basically... In a nutshell, Verizon overnighted me a new Revo - Got it yesterday and I'm in the process of Rooting it again.. (thank god it came loaded with ZV7, but I would have just used the TOT file I guess)
Upon inspecting the old phone, I saw no evidence of scorching or burns.. The phone just got REEALY HOT.... The tech presumed that because of the heat and circumstances, it could have burned out the CPU. Hence the reason the phone isn't even turning on now.
In any case, I have a replacement, so I'll be staying with this fine community!
I appreciate all that you guys do here for this phone! Thank you for all the assistance!

I'm pretty sure that's for water damage.. Or is it for the battery in general or just does both?
I've had expedience with phone stores and when you bring a phone in they pop the back off and check the little thing on both the one on the battery and phone and if either one is solid they say its water damaged and deny you anything.
Can I get some clarification?
Same thing just happened to my phone a couple of days ago.
Battery indicator strip as well as the indicator on the phone are both still white with red X's.
My battery was at 8%, so I plugged it into the charger in my car - decided a couple of minutes later to put some music on, and the phone just shut itself off, never to return again ;_;
Easily could have been an overheating issue, as this phone gets hot VERY easily when doing ANYTHING while it is charging.
Are you using a case for your phone? I've got a body glove for mine and it doesn't overheat.

Completely dead

My touchpad seems to have completely died, it always lives on my touch stone charging base.
As usual I went to pick it up and nothing. I've held the force reboot button sequence and I've tried every button sequence for various amounts of time.
I've plugged it into the HP charger directly with a cable over night, over plugged it into a USB port for a day to try and trickle charge it but still no luck.
If I plug it into my laptop and hold power and vol button I get no windows noises at all.
Is it completely dead?
What can I try next to resurrect it?
Any help would be health appreciated.
Thanks
Wayne

Assuming you hadn't just installed a new rom, put it back on the Touchstone charger as sometimes it is either placed incorrectly or is just having a hissy, leave it for at least a few hours preferably longer. Hopefully your Touchstone is still working if that doesn't work do the pc usb charge overnight.
What Rom are you on?
Using the latest jcsullins ROM. I've now tried 3 USB chargers (HP, HTC and Apple), neither have successfully booted yet

Something similar happened to me in the past. What I did was plug it in via usb (directly to the outlet) for a day or two and it came back to life. For some reason it refused to charge via touchstone.
OK, been sat on the touchstone for a couple of days, tried turning upside down. No luck. Now sat plugged into USB on PC, will leave for a few days and see if it comes back to life. Will Try direct cable next.
Fingers crossed.

It is possible that the Touchstone has gone, they all came with a 2 year warranty so you are entitled to have it replaced. Unfortunately HP is only providing service via email so you could try that or the retailer you bought it from.
In my case they just sent a new one.
Good luck
Tried it plugged into USB socket of PC But still no luck, also tried it plugged into the HP charger directly over the weekend and still nothing.
What can I try next?

Mine's been on a combination of charges, each for 2-3 days at a time now. No luck. I think it's gone. Be sure to post if anything short of opening the thing up to get to the battery works for you.
I may try to change the battery, or charge it externally. Desperate times...
I opened mine to see if the battery could easily be unplugged. It's a pain to open and the battery is stuck down, the wires are connected under a PCB which meant dismantling it completely. I turned back at this point and plugged it back in to charge.

Update
Left charging in various ways with no result. Left unplugged for the last week nearly, tried holding various buttons with no affect.
Plugged it back in via cable into hp charger and left it.... And it came to life again

[Q] When phone is off charging battery has question mark

I've had this phone for about two weeks now (I bought it used). When I got the phone the battery lasted pretty much all day for about 4-5 days. Then I pretty much started having charging issues. When the phone would fully die it would lock up. Sometimes when the phone had 80% battery it would lock up and stay that way for about 30-60 seconds. It would then reboot possibly lock up on boot for another 30-60 seconds, then if it did come on the battery would have an explanation mark telling you it needed to be charged. Now sometimes when you go to charge the phone it would turn on but have a question mark inside of the battery instead of where the colors are while it's charging and off.
I tried to purchase a battery locally and replace it. This battery does the same thing. The phone will boot for a bit, charge, then shut off. When I go into fastboot mode it says 'battery low'. When I got the phone and started having problems it was still stock everything, no root. Now I am running Youngunn's HoloBlur performance edition and the battery I tried to replace it with is an EB40.
The questions I really have are this.
1- When a battery is bad does it cause the '?' mark
2- Does the EB40 have to be calibrated some how, or does the ROM just pretty much know what's up
I don't really want to drop another $50 into a battery if that doesn't the issue. However in my past experience and knowledge of electronics and phones it seems to be the battery.
Thanks in advance!

I can't really get that far into the phone. After I get the phone booted it says low batt then goes through the power down process
Update: After reading a few threads on this site and others I've heard them all talking about using the OEM charger. I was using the USB brick I use for my Samsung tablet 5v 2a. I've just found a moto charger at my house which is 5v 550ma and the charging meter is now going up.
Thank you for searching guy.

You're welcome man!
I took the battery that I purchased back and ordered a new one off Amazon. I put my old battery back in the phone and left it alone. After the phone charged for two hours it said it was at 25%. I booted the phone up got about five mins of use out of it and it locked again and wouldn't turn back on. When the phone isnt on and just charging, does it use the ROM to display the battery charging meter?
Here's another update.. I got the new battery in and put it in the phone. I tried to power it up just to see if it had a charge and it displayed the unlocked bootloader logo and shut back off. I then tried to plug it into, still nothing. I eventually got the green light on the top to show up. At first it was blinking, then it went solid with a very small blink. After that, still nothing.
I have tried using a 5v 500ma, 5v 1a, and 5v 2a charger and still nothing. Does anyone have any ideas?

I went to ATT and tried to get the OEM charger from them but they said they didn't have one. They were trying to use a 5v 1a usb cord with a block on the end. The only actual Motorola charger I have is what I got when I had my Atrix 4G. It's a 5v 500ma...
What is the voltage / amperage on the OEM charger?

I have never used the original Moto USB charger. I usually use anything that was convenient and that includes my, laptop, desktop, HTC, LG, and Samsung USB chargers.
Same here. With any of my devices for that matter. Usually the phone can dumb it down or just not charge.

And sometimes that's fine but If it won't charge first thing to try is the factory charger to rule that out.

After going up to the ATT store and getting them to try multiple adapters it still isn't working. I have noticed that when you plug it into the computer it recognizes the phone.. To what extent I have no idea (since I only plugged it in for a minute at the store). There are also times when you plug it in and the green light will be flashing, and other times the light will be solid.
Like I said this is straight puzzling. The phone worked fine for a few days with no issues. It seems like it got wet but there's no way it could have.

This is a hoax. Battery calibration is not real (Words from a google/android employee). All these apps do is maybe clean up the battery statistics so android builds new ones (which it does by itself in the long run anyways). This process has nothing to do with the actual battery/hardware.
That's all they're meant to do. Wipe the stats so it will get a correct reading.
Sent from my PACMAN MATRIX HD MAXX
Did you solved it?
I had the same issue ..couldnt fine a workaround uptill now
*facepalm
Solution:
1.Take out your battery.
2.See those contacts between the terminals? Yes, they're the battery sensors. If they're not in contact with the base plates on the phone board, do something about it. I don't know what, you decide.
3.get some naked wire and create your own screw washers, for the terminals. Screw them under the screw, between the battery board and base screw holes.
4.Tighten properly.
Done.
Now, try again till the charger accepts that your battery is existent.
You are welcome.
