Apps in alphabetical order - Huawei P20 Pro Questions & Answers

Hi, does anyone know how to organise the apps so they are added in alphabetical order instead of the order they are downloaded in. I'm wanting to use the standard set up with no app drawer and I can't seem to find a choice to have these apps arranged alphabetically. Thanks

Email app for corporate use

I am noticing that there is still no way to search messages in the default email app. Also, still no way to move messages to a different folder. This is such a shame since the default app is so much faster than Touchdown. Has anyone used Moxier? Is it better than Touchdown?
How can we let Google know that we need search and ability to move messages with the default app?

Froyo Contact groups on Home sceen

Anyone found a way with froyo to have a home screen shortcut or folder to access a contact group?
I have a contact group of 50 work related numbers that I would like ready access to. Froyo lets me create "All", "starred" & "with phone numbers" folders which all seem pretty superfluous because they are readily available via the phone button anyway. I ca also create icons for individual contacts who in most cases will be in my favorites anyway.
I can go through the convoluted process of contact display options to filter to a contact group but it is a PITA.
I dont want a home screen replacement. Ideally I just want shortcut that would open contacts pre-filterd to one of my numerous contact groups.
Anyone else want this?

[Q] how do I change the color of the stock calendar? [2 workarounds found]

Hi there!
I have a smaller problem - let's call it a malaise - with my i9000. It's about the integrated calendar and its default color - cyan. I have a mostly transparent calendar widget on my homescreen, and every appointment I have in my calendar has this blindingly colorful cyan bar beside it. That I'd like to change by changing the color for appointments in the stock calendar. However, I haven't found a way to do that.
I am aware of the Google calendar and how I can change its color online. However, if I don't synchronize with the phone's internal calendar (which I don't do and don't want to), there seemingly is no way to change the color of the stock calendar online, because the online settings only affect the online calendars.
So, I turn to you experts of details and modifications: is there a way to change that nasty cyan into something more moderate?
EDIT:
Okay, so apparently there is no actual solution to this. I suppose one could make a custom ROM for this, but since noone seems to care about the problem, noone does.
Anyway, I have found two workarounds in the meantime, and I wanted to post them here so that anyone who has the same problem and finds this thread has a chance to solve the colourful dilemma.
1.
Instead of using the inbuilt stock calendar, you can use Google Calendar (GC). If you have an Android phone, you have a Google account and therefore can use GC right away. The reason: somehwere deep within GC's options you can choose what color to use for the entries in this online calendar. So what you do is choose the color you like, put your events in the Google Calendar instead of the phone's own and configure Android to synchronize with it now and then. You can still create events on the phone, you just need to choose in which calendar (internal or external) you'd like to create them.
2.
Use the Android Agenda Widget as a calendar widget for your phone. Among its endless list of options is a little checkbox where you can choose to have your events displayed, but without the color of the calendar they come from.
I wanted to offer you links to both these options, but since I don't have enough posts yet the system doesn't let me. But you know how to use Google, so I'm sure you'll find these things.

Q: How to store Favorite Contacts on WP7

Guyz... This issue is killing me. Is there a way to store Favorite Contacts on WP7?
I can see that the People Tile stores the "recent" Contacts for calls placed or received. But is there a way to actually store Favorites for Contacts?
Thanks for your help in advance.
The best I can think of is pinning your favorite contacts to the start screen.
Just press and hold the desired contact and use the option "Pin to start"
personally I too would prefer to have a Favorite Tile on the start which has all my favorite people..something like a filtered version of the people tile.

Best Google Tasks app?

I'm looking for a minimal gTasks app with a screen widget that is transparent and looks clean.
Currently using the free version of Google Tasks Organizer which is not transparent and has annoying green arrows to cycle through nonexistent/undeletable lists...
Thanks!

Best Google Tasks App
I tried all tasks app that sync with Google Tasks and ended up using BHive Google Tasks. I really like it so far! It really allows me get different views of my tasks through its filtering system. You can for example setup a filter to only show high priority tasks, due today, with the tag #computer (and the filters are available as quick buttons on the main screen). Also it allows you to group and sort your tasks really cleverly. For example you can have the task list broken up by priority, due date, task list and then with each group further sorted by other attributes. Last but not least it has the same cool new task facility as Remember the milk, hard to explain, you have to try it. Also its the only app that has more advanced recurring options, similar to that of outlook and ical.
Hopefully to save a few people some time - I spent a whole day yesterday researching and deciding on the best way to go regarding a task management app.
As I researched i discovered that Google Tasks introduced the first/new Google Tasks API this year - see Youtube: "Google I/O 2011: Google Tasks API"
On this basis Google tasks would be a nice option to get a laptop solution as well as a mobile solution with synchronization between the two AND it integrates into Google Calender All VERY Android and cloud friendly.
So now I just needed to find the Android app which uses the new API and syncs with Goggle tasks. I found these:
Any.DO
Astrid
BHive Google Tasks
Google Tasks Organizer
Checkmark
Tasks N Todos
Toodledo
One of the binds of using these task apps is the time it takes to put an entry in. I didn't try them all from the list above but once I tried BHive I was sold. (This also ties in with victorcharlie's comment above - how I found this thread in a search btw!)
After the task description entry (which can be entered immediately after opening the app) they have used one press large buttons to allow v.quick entry of the rest of the data (without any shunt up/down nudge type data entry if you know what I mean or text entry using small keys). This steps you through each section of entering the task VERY rapidly and non fiddly.
Then with sync on auto or manual, the entered task on Android appears on the laptop in Google Tasks and Goggle Calendar at the task due date in the calendar. Really cool and logical. I won't go into the other great things about it here -
thedailybuggle.com has a nice review of BHive Google Tasks:
"how-to-sync-google-tasks-with-android"
BHive Google Tasks also has what the first poster in this thread Pheno.menon was asking for "a screen widget that is transparent and looks clean" and it has two sizes of widget available.
Try all the test apps and you decide. Astrid has the biggest following by far but that doesn't have to mean it's the best. Please report back here, I would be interested to here what you find.

Forgot to say - if your a Google chrome user this Chrome extension taskmail.org is great for adding tasks from web pages. Just select some text in the web page to use as a task description, then right click and select 'create task'
Also Google's chrome extension for tasks is good too "Google Tasks (by Google)"
Another tip and a v.nice feature. If you get an email say for example a Car Service due - go into the email, then select the more button, then "Add to tasks". This automatically creates a task which includes a hyperlink back to the email
Is there anyway to set google tasks so that an email can be automatically converted to a task?
This would be helpful as unlike in a desktop browser there doesn't seem to be a way to convert an email to a task in the gmail app on the phone.
I've tried a few - Any.DO was the most simplistic that I found and super easy to use.
