Hi guys, It is a loooooong time since I did any coding at all so im really stuck and need help please.
I have a stock Acer Iconia one 7 ( b1-790 ) tablet that I am installing in my RX8, I need to try and set it so that when the lid closes and the tablet is effectively face down the screen goes off and the device sleeps Then when the flap opens the device wakes and the screen comes back on.
Is there a way to do this with tasker please, if so could someone help me with doing this?
Thanks in adance

Hey all,
hope this is the right Thread for my post.
I've found out that the touch buttons of my device(Galaxy i9000) are lightening as long as the display is on.
On the device of my girlfriend the buttons are lightening only for 3 seconds then they turn off again even the display is still on.
We both have Froyo 2.2.1 XXJQ3 flashed over Odin. Nothing else is modded.
No rooting, no lagfix.
I know thats it's normal that the buttons are only lightening for 3 seconds, but my girlfriend wants me to set her mobile so it's like mine.
And I have the question why my buttons are lightening as long as the display's on and other phones of the users here not?
Hope u pros can help me again.
Greetz and thx
That's really strange...mine only go in in some apps, when I click them, our when I an typing but generally they are off...will look into it. Are you sure you both running exactly the same firmware?

I'm on the same firmware flached wit Kies (official) and mine is fine. If keep touching the screen, the buttons keep lightening but if after two seconds they are off.
flash the official version it's in kies
Hey guys,
Yeah I'm sure that we both have the same firmware, because I flashed them together. First mine then her's.
Today I flashed both to 2.3.3 and again my buttons stay on and her's not.
In my opinion it looks much better when they stay on as long as the display is on especially when it's dark, but im still curious whats the reason for this.
Still hope u can help me.
Thx and greetz
keep the lights on
Hi there,
I had exactly the same problem with my phone - especially annoying if you are
using phone in darkness.. App "keep the lights on" is a smooth solution..
Give it a try, step out of the dark
cheers
saving battry
I know that it saves battery but why the heck it doesn't do that on my phone?
Never changed something and I have to say that I really like that they stay on, but is there a chance that we can set up if lights stay on or not?

For me on XXJPK, while the app works, after I lock and unlock the buttons light up again so you would have to double tap the widget to turn the lights off every time... :-(
@markdj57
On JP3 and JPO works just fine - after turning the widget (and lights) on, I simply
throw the widget in trash and the buttons and display become one

XXJVK known issue/feature: Button lights are always on when screen is on.
However, this phenomenon should not occur on older firmwares.
Is there a simple fix yet?
Look at this post, worked for me and others.

I found that the app "screen filter" makes the soft key lights turn off after a couple of seconds when it's running, other than that I've never experienced it :/

Does the game support the Xperia Z? Ask the developer. Or else get a refund. But you prolly are no longer in the 15 mins window.
GTA3 Works great on my device (just drains battery really quick)
I had a hard time installing it, what i did was remove auto turn off screen, because if you touch stuff it aborts, and if screen locks it aborts.
Yea there seems to be quite a few people playing it on the z, I'm not touching anything tho it happens everyttime! It looks as tho.it will start but jumps back again, I've sent the developers two emails and had no reply yet, thanks
Maybe try downloading the whole game again. Or get the data from other sources

Search for some similar app then.
There are some Youtube apps on Playstore that works in background, but they are not same as Youtube app.
BUMP
Htc phones have fastboot.
When you switch off your device, the phone does not actually shut down. It hibernates. It goes to a low power mode. The kernel is still active.
This is why htc boots quite fast, in less than 6secs.
And That is why alarm works even after it is switched off. In samsung, this is not possible as the phone is completely turned off.
As for youtube, i saw an app pvstar which played videos in background. Other than that i have no idea.

Thread closed, OP I edited out your insults. If you want help, insulting users is the wrong thing to do, remember, its your problem, not ours.
Additionally its against the forum rules to start chucking insults around and if it continues your ability to post will magically stop working
Has anybody still have the blank screen issue?
Mine did it last night blank screen but the hdmi is still working when hooked to my tv.
Is there a software fix for this? I am on the stock 10.26.1.18 4.3 JB.
The touch screen still work when hooked up to the tv though hdmi just the screen is off.
Is it something to do with smart saver mode or display sleep.
I used the hdmi hookup to factory rest and shut off and when I plugged the tablet back in the screen started working again, I hope somebody can help because I really love the tablet otherwise.
Thanks
You could have a loose connection or your backlight may be on it's way out....
But if it works now - just enjoy it!
To rule out software you can either:
a) reflash the same firmware you are on now
b) flash one of the KitKat updates. You are 2 updates behind on the latest firmware for this tablet
Quite a few users are reporting massive battery drain during sleep on the latest 11.4.1.27 firmware though. Don't know if I can recommend to update to that right now..... You cannot go back once you updated!
It seems to be working now, I factory reset the tablet twice and shut smart saver off, I hope it keeps working the tablet is fast and can do everything I need it for. Do you know any stress test I can do on the tablet to see if it happens again?
Thanks

Hello guys
Hope this is the right section of the board
Since last summer I have a problem with tasker on my Android HU.
Tasker stops working (popup with close or wait) without any reason I can understand. Before I get this messenge I see that it doesn't react to it's triggers and after a few moments / minutes the messenge appears
I have to choose close and a few moments later I can use the app again. But the problem will come back a few moments or minutes or so
Is there any possibility for debugging? Tried to switch to another app but macrodroid don't have the possibilities I need
Thx in advance

Usually XDA is good place to ask, but in case of Tasker I feel you will get more help on Reddit...
