Hi All,
After installing Navigation Gestures https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.xda.nobar and granting Accessibility Service permission, I exited the app as I could not proceed with the next step/permission (“Write Secure Setting”, adb shell pm ….).
Shortly after I realised some fonts on my phone have changed (please see screenshot).
Phone: Huawei P20 Pro
Not rooted
Any suggestion how I can change fonts back to normal without factory reset?
Thank you
1. Install ADB and Fastbooton your PC. Fastboot.
2.Enable ‘USB Debugging’ option. Connect your device to your PC via USB cable.
Open a cmd windows for ADB type in:
adb devices
If you have the proper drivers installed it should show your device.
Then type in
adb shell settings put system hw_hide_font_style false
Then, for reboot.
adb reboot
Now go to Setting>Display>Font style.
you can long press the themes icon and choose text styles from the pop-up menu, select the font you want

Np. This will bring up the menu for fonts in display. I.m not sure it will fix your issue tho.
I.m using the gestures from the pro itself and nova launcher with a custom font and it's working just finee...you could try this too.

I'm using nova launcher as well and since last night started using the phone's built-in gesture.
Haven't tried Nova launcher custom font yet.
You could also install the EMUI5 Font Enabler app if you don't want to use ADB from your desktop.

Hello,
I have P20 Pro
This is not the problem with font style, but with setting for the contrast. Just go to:
Settings - Smart assistance - Accessibility
and disable "High contrast text"

Got the Roboto font and its slick! I uploaded it to my dropbox for your enjoyment!
Note: I got this online not myself I take no credit. I only uploaded it.
http://db.tt/bTJM9zRA
To install:
Download file on your phone. Once complete open Root Explorer and navigate to /sdcard/downloads and long press on the zip you just downloaded. Choose to extract all to /sdcard/extracted
If you don't already have the app download Font Changer from the market (free). Once downloaded navigate in Root Explorer to /sdcard/extracted and copy both Roboto font files. Paste them in /sdcard/.fontchanger. Now open up font changer and apply Roboto font!
This worked awesome. Never had done it before and your instructions were easy. Thanks again.
Sent from my BAMF'd Forever Thunderbolt
Anyway to make the font slightly smaller? The default size is kinda big.
Other Method
I found it easier to just download Font Installer from the Market and then select Roboto from the list. Only minor issue was my phone seemed to freeze when I pressed yes to reboot, waited several minutes, did a battery pull, and then everything worked fine. I really like this font!

I love this font!! looks great!!
One other way, if you have ROM Toolbox...
Under Theme Settings-->System Fonts. It's at the bottom of the list. Just install from there and reboot.
I didn't have any problems with a slow reboot or anything.
I like how clean and legible this font is...very happy I installed it! Thanks!
Domo arigato for Mr. Roboto....domo...Domo.
Is there any way to install it without root?
possible to have black roboto?
installed and running without a problem...
thank you. I wanted this awhile ago. guess i just forgot to keep checking up.

it depends. if you want, you can use this to change the font on your SMS app, eg go sms or chomp sms. you can also use this font in your eBook app eg Aldiko ...
you cant change the whole system font without rooting though. it would be like... i dont know, installing anything on windows guest mode? thats what root does, take you out of guest mode... or something like that
Links dead, can you post it please? Thank you. x

So, let me get this straight. You wanted to remove the stock lockscreen and use your own? What exactly is Keyguard.apk? what did you accomplish? I am asking cause I am trying to remove my own (or to be honnest just change it). And what's the difference between the apk and the bak files?
Thanks in advance!

and so ... this apk is responsible for the stock lockscreen? Then if I get a new one and place it there, with the same name, it would be seen from the system as a system apk?

ok. so it seems that in order to prevent a force close you disable it, and then you install a regular app for the lockscreen. thanks!
To be honnest I wanted to know how to customize the lockscreen, but I guess this should do the trick. Thanks again!

Good.. Enjoy
Ive been installing themes and unfortunately, ive come across a theme I used which gave me a awful font i cannot read properly. It is utterly annoying.
I've deleted the theme from my phone and installed the stock theme.
Unfortunately the font oddly has stayed the same.
How do i get the stock/original font back please?.
I have tried changing language then back again and no joy.
I have tried TFT font reset from the play store and some other apps that suppose to reset the font back without any joy at all. Tried reboot...etc.
I am lost.
Try this, via ADB
adb shell settings put system hw_hide_font_style false
And u should find the “Font Style” option here - > Settings ->

I did try, but I think it only works up to EMUI 5.0.
Few months ago, i wanted change to other font. I put this command, and without problems I change my font. If it doesn't work with both sides, I don't know bro.

Hey all. Other day i look around floating_feature.xml in system/etc and i found the line for config nav bar:
<SEC_FLOATING_FEATURE_FRAMEWORK_CONFIG_NAVIGATION_BAR_THEME>SupportLightNavigationBar|SupportForceTouch|SupportCustomBgColor|SupportNaviBarRemoteView</SEC_FLOATING_FEATURE_FRAMEWORK_CONFIG_NAVIGATION_BAR_THEME>
I think if theres an option "SupportLightNavigationBar" lets see if "SupporrDarkNavigationBar" works. And it worked
Don't know if anyone have dicover that but i wann share it with you.
Final code:
<SEC_FLOATING_FEATURE_FRAMEWORK_CONFIG_NAVIGATION_BAR_THEME>SupportLightNavigationBar|SupportForceTouch|SupportCustomBgColor|SupportNaviBarRemoteView|SupportDarkNavigationBar</SEC_FLOATING_FEATURE_FRAMEWORK_CONFIG_NAVIGATION_BAR_THEME>

Fairly sure you need to be rooted to mod system files even with ADB, or at least have TWRP installed, in which case you might as well root too as you have already tripped KNOX
or you can just use this app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=by4a.setedit22
set
need_dark_navigationbar to 1
need_dark_statusbar to 1
then go switch it to black..
you might need adb initially to get the app permission but its only needed to do once.. actually, you dont need permission for that as its in system settings.. if u want to change secure or global settings you need to set the adb perms

not true in this case.. those values are in settings.. you can do it in adb also if you use the settings binary similar to what i just posted.. the app is probably the easiest tho plus u can edit pretty much any setting with the app

Just changed those lines both to 1, but no black has appeared
Also I have a problem with low notification / ringtone sounds, I see there are level settings for that too
What is the adb command to get the full permissions for the app to edit everything? The values are reset back to 0 after a reboot

How to move the clock on the right or put it in the center on android pie
There is a way to move the clock on the right where it was. For me, personally, I get used to to be in the left, but I also like to be able to personalize my phone on the way I want. Now, this is possible
1. You need to install an app called System UI Tuner and register for the beta program. After this, you have to receive an update of the app. Update it.
2. Need to give it permission through ADB. Here are the commands:
adb shell pm grant com.zacharee1.systemuituner android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS
adb shell pm grant com.zacharee1.systemuituner android.permission.PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS
adb shell pm grant com.zacharee1.systemuituner android.permission.DUMP
3.Go to Status bar > Custom and click Add item. Enter the key "right_clock_position". Enter whatever name for it you want. The new item will be created. Toggle it OFF.
Screenshot:

The littles little buggy for me, just keep it in mind. Also, the clock can be moved in the center with "middle_clock_position"
Source: Reddit
I will test when I get home. But if it works, even if buggy, THANK YOU! Driving me nuts! Now to figure out how to disable the carrier brand name in the notification bar too.
That worked! Thanks, you are brilliant!
Edit: nevermind
I don't have a Custom option in my taskbar option screen, any idea why? I just downloaded the app tonight so I have the newest version.
