Hi guys, if I root my Moto X4 I will be able to install apps on the SD? There's a way to do this with the stock ROM or I'll have to install a custom?!
*Apologizes for my english...*
Yes you can install apps to SD and there are currently no custom ROMs available yet.

I understand that to do that, you need to remove encryption, and format the sd card as adoptable storage. Can we do that with this phone?

Download Apps2SD: All in One Tool
Use Apps2SD: All in One Tool to create Mount scripts on the second partition.
You can now use link2sd to move your apps.
You may need to keep Apps2SD if you have mount problems on boot.

OK, thanks. This app requires you to root your device. I have not rooted yet, as it currently requires to unlock bootloader which voids your warranty.

any way to make a certain app bypass apps2sd, and install on the phone memory directly? I know some apps can be moved from /system/sd/app /system/app , but this doesn't work for everything.
advice?

As far as I know, you can just remove your ext partition and it should install apps internally.

alright, here's a scenario then. What if those apps have updates? Will updates from the market install to the sd, or will they only overwrite themselves if the sd has been removed?

Meaning the apps on your ext partition? Wellllll, if you remove the partition completely, it'll remove the apps. So they won't update anywhere. haha
I suggest pulling the apps from your ext via adb, put them on your sd card fat32 partition, and install them manually through a file explorer.

ehh, nevermind. Looks like it's just going to be easiest to move the apps manually.
another way is to put the apps in the rom folder named "app_s" to folder "app" in the system......
Hello,
I did unroot my dev, enabled developer options but still there is no option to move application to external SD card.
My sd card is FAT32 formatted Class10 Sandisk 64GB.
Latest official ROM.
Any idea how to enable this?

It's not part of android anymore AFAIK and hasn't been for a few versions. What are you trying to achieve?

I want to move / install application into SD card.
I have another tablet 4.0.3 and that option is there also I saw on the net (different tablet models) info about this option being enabled when developer options are enabled.
Although some one mentioned that asus hide this option on transformers..
To sum up ... how to install app on SD? Maybe mount folder option (will try that next)

The tf701 stock ROM does not offer that.
You can try titanium backup (when rooted) and there are some apps in playstore that offer that.

No it's not built into the framework. You were using an old ICS firmware where memory was a premium. You have 32GB now. Are you saying you gave filled it with apps and data?
Is it possible?
Really struggling with space on my Z1 right now.

No, this has been mentioned a few times. You need to have root to be able to install apps on SD. Once you root you can use Folder Mount or GL to SD

And even if sony would add the feature like samsung and some others did
For example on the sgs4 you can put apps on sd but it will only add the .apk to your sd (i gues you have some heavy games that use your space)
The .obb files still will be on internal sd
So i guess the only way is using foldermoun(or something like that) but that will need root
But keep in mind if you root your phone and don't unlock the bl and you have some problems with the phone and flash stock rom trough xperiatool you will have guarantee

I have never actually used the function myself, but there is a thread dedicated to the topic:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2466329
From what I found you might have to use this fix for it to work.
I keep getting this error trying to install apps from the play store. My phone is rooted, the SD card is properly partitioned, and I can successfully link apps to it via Link2SD. The problem is that my phone seems to be very picky about what I can and cannot install. Some programs will install with no fuss, while others will give me the "Error: Couldn't install on USB storage or SD card" error. It's extremely irritating.
Please do not suggest unmounting/remounting the SD card. I've tried this. It DOES NOT WORK.

Is your phone rooted with a custom recovery and all?
Yes. I rooted it, have TWRP, and have write-protection off (it was messing with my SD partitions).

At this point, anything. I can link stuff to my second partition, but I can't move anything to the space I set aside on my SD card. Any game, any app, is poison to my SD card.

When you partitioned your sd card did you make it ext2, ext3, or ext4 and set it to primary?

There's not much I can do since I can't actually see your phone... I know I had mine set to ext4 and primary but be sure you're using a good partitioning tool..
I don't know if FolderMount would do what you want but you can always try.
Do you happen to have the stock kernel on your phone? Because if you do it's write protection enabled and you can't use that from my experience. You need to install a kernel with write protection removed.
I installed a custom Kernel, write protection's gone. Think wiping the whole thing would help? Or installing a Custom ROM?

A custom rom could definitely help! Just make sure you make a backup of your current system and then try another rom but I can't exactly say any rom that's better than another one because I'm using a personal built rom but all the roms are pretty good and each has their own problems so be sure to read about the rom you choose closely!
If anyone tried a marshmallow rom that support link2sd which can make the mounting script without using app2sd app and after moving internal data, apps don't force stop, please share the name of the rom.

nah, the logic of sdcard is different in android marshmallow. So link2sd is not fully supported in marshmallow. If you want to move apps to sdcard i suggest formatting sdcard as internal storage
Cheers

For moving apps to sd in MM rom,you must either format it as internal within the rom or create a separate partition for link2sd in the mmc
