Does Factory Reset from Recover wipe internal Storage? - Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Questions and Answers

My S Note malfunctioned and now I can't pin Action Memo's to my home screen. I was looking to factory reset my phone.
?
Will doing factory reset from recovery mode wipe my internal storage? Like my pics documents and voice memos that are saved on my interna drive

You really don't need a thread for this on xda. Google is your friend for such things !
And no need to go into recovery, there's a fr option in the settings.

I think you may have missed what he was asking. Going into settings will will wipe your internal storage. He wanted to know whether doing it via recovery would have the same effect.
To answer that question, though; it does also wipe the internal storage, yes.

I know what he was asking. I guessed he doesn't know the in settings option, despite how he formed his question. Why would he even think that the recovery fr would be any different from the in settings fr. Fr is fr.

If i do full wipe through philz recovery or format usb memory from UI, nothing happens, all my stuff is there. Why i cant format my memory ? xxls7 is on n7000
full wipe is wipe cache, wipe dalvik, and factory reset = this does not format usb storage.
when you go to settings, storage, format usb-what remains? usb is all clear. what do you want to delete?
when you go to settings, storage, format usb-what remains? usb is all clear. what do you want to delete?
When i do this nothing's happen, everything is still there on my usb memory i tried everything but i can delete thing only manualy by connecting note on pc and delete from there.
or you can format from recovery as well..
mount usb storage and format using pc. or format sdcard

Sounds like another case of the dreaded superbrick. You need another motherboard which if you've got warranty is free, if not, big bucks. You can repartition, but you'll lose about 3gb of space and it's likely stock roms will no longer work.

If no download mode, the they will not be able to see if it has counter or not. If it's not booting then they will not be able to see root. They will just swap motherboard and flash a stock firmware and send it back. Hopefully.

Unlock problem

earlier today I found out my little sister knew my pattern so I changed it. But when I changing the pattern I didn't pay attention a lot and know I forgot the pattern. My data and WiFi are disabled.I can't sign in to my google account with the phone now.
My question: I can't sign in because data/wifi is off? If yes is there a way to turn on wifi or data without unlocking phone?
I'll be thankful if someone help me because I can't loose my apps and setting
I'm using CM 7.2 official
Well there is a slight chance to be lucky enough to get the notification bar opened and enable the wifi/data but there one more way using recovery.

Wiping data is an option if everything else failed, but it would delete your apps and data, so it's only a last thing to do.

wrong.
if you do not get hold of the previous owner, then that device will be a brick for you, a door stop for all intensive purposes.

sure, you can factory reset and flash anything you want, but itll ask for the previus users name and paasword before letting you finish booting. thats the whole point of google setting up this security feature, as it wouldnt be security if it didnt.

I've played with my nexus 6 and it has never asked for a username or password... It's just a pattern or pin and I have reset it when I had it setup. There is a option to have it enabled on boot up and also enabled when the OS loads. Maybe the guy didn't have the boot up option enabled

its a newer security feature, it came out with 5.1. if he sold the phone, and had his security feature enabled(even if he wiped the phone), itll ask you for it first, before you can change it. what he should have done is remove his account from the phone, but he didnt. theres a few threads here on xda about it.

nope.
if it was that easy to remove it, it would be considered extremely terrible security. but, if your phone gets stolen, at least it would be of no use to a thief.

Issue with Root Access on M Preview 2

I have just installed Developer M Preview 2 on my Nexus 6 and I have flashed the beta SuperSU, however, when I try and change system files via ESFE or titanium backup I get denied or nothing happens. Also, when checking ESFE for writable system, it says no. When checking superSU app it shows that my apps have superSU access and grant. Also, when using layers manager app and when I try to install the layers it doesn't work. That app has been granted root.
Can anyone attempt to help me?
Thanks

If that's not the issue, it is likely the kernel. You will need an M preview custom Kernel.
