My NC is auto-nootered running the newer Market and I love it.
But I hate that I can't get all the normal apps via Market. Amazon and Trillian are the two I've noticed so far. Amazon is only for the US Market, so I had to download an APK for it that won't update. As for Trillian, I can't even find a an up-to-date APK.
I've tried Market Enabler, which hasn't done a damned thing. I can see both Amazon and Trillian with AppBrain, but when I click Market it just says that the target couldn't be found.
How can I/we get access to these apps, installed via a real Market so they can update? I'm fine paying USD$4.99 for Trillian.
Thanks all.

You have to install AppBrain and Fast Web Installer from the market on your Nook. Run Fast Web Installer once and click "Allow" -- You can then find and install the protected apps using appbrain.com (not the app). Then go into the AppBrain app and sync then install the protected app on the Nook.

"Google has made fast web install impossible in the latest upgrade of the Android market, which is installed on your device."
So ... I guess this can only be done with the older Market app? That's a shame, but better than not being able to use those apps I suppose.
Will the apps be able to update themselves if I install them this way? Or will I have to go back to the website every time?
Alright, so I have a 1.2.0 Nook Color. Last night I rooted it with ManualNooter but now the android market is not working so great. Only a few things show up, and Angry Birds is definitely not showing up. I've heard that sometimes the full market doesn't show up till after 30 hours after rooting, however I don't know how much of a rumor that is.
Therefore, I want to try and get the amazon app market for the Kindle app and such. How can I download it? I know I need to install something but I don't know how.
Any good, straight forward instructions for a total noob? Thanks!
First, you must open up Nook Color tools. Then tick the box for "non-market installs". Second, download the Amazon Appstore apk file from here, directly on the Nook. Once the file is downloaded, open up the notifications in the bottom left corner and tap the "download complete" window. Select Package Installer. Then simply enough, there is an install button. Press it (duh). Now wait. When that's done, then you can open it.
Ahhh, see I don't think I have Nook Color tools on it yet. I'm assuming that's process where I hook the Nook to the computer and form some commands?
Nook color tools is installed with the manual nooter zip that you flash. ADB wireless, SU, google apps and a few others should also be there. What did you use to root? The most current is 4.6.16. Limited market apps was an issue with earlier versions that has a fix posted within the MN thread. Otherwise, I did not run into that with the latest version.
Yeah I just found the Nook Tools on there. The 'Allow non Market apps' was already checked so I don't know why the amazon app wouldn't download.
_EDIT_
Alright, I updated the MN and installed it, the market is working great
Now lets see if I can get Amazon app to work this round!
As stated in the topic, has anyone here had success using Aptoide on the Kindle Fire HD 7?
I have tried installing several versions as well as adding the main and other various repos etc. The app itself goes through the server lists updating and each time nothing shows up. No icons or app list to look at.
If anyone has got this to successfully run, update, and download files, please post a comment or feedback here. Would like to know what needs to be done if it's possible.
I got it to run without any problems using the latest version of it's APK, did nothing special, as for adding server/store list's I just looked them up on the website and copied & pasted them in that way.
I've since removed all 3rd party stores now though, much prefer sideloading from a PC or uploading them to my Google Drive to install that way as I like changing the APK's icons for the carousel etc.

Thanks for replying here. Have you rooted your device? I just tried to install Aptoide on another KFHD7 running 7.2.3 and no dice. Both are non rooted. Would certainly like to get to the bottom of this.
I could use some help setting up a secondary user profile for my tablet.
I recently bought the $50 Fire tablet. I immediately used RootJunky's batch files to install the Play Store, remove lock screen ads, disable OTA updates, root, and replace the stock launcher. I then logged into my Amazon account to set up the main user profile. I removed a bunch of Amazon bloat and the tablet is working perfectly as a proper Android tablet.
I ran into trouble, however, when I tried to set up a second user profile for my wife. She logged in using her Amazon credentials and went through the standard set up processes. After finishing all that, the lock screen showed up, she swiped up, and nothing. No launcher or anything. Just the home screen wallpaper.
While logged into her profile, I tried re-running RootJunky's Play Store install batch file. I got errors, though, telling me all of those files were already installed on the device.
Navigating through the settings, I managed to get into the Amazon app store and install OneDrive. From there I was able to install some APKs. I managed to install Nova Launcher so she has a working launcher. I also installed the Play Store. The Play Store, however, wouldn't open. It just flashed a white screen and then shut down. After installing the Google Login Service it now prompts to enter Google credentials to log in. After doing so, however, it says it couldn't connect to Google's servers. I am unable to install either the Google Play Services APK or the Google Services Framework APK. After not being able to install them from OneDrive, I downloaded them to internal storage and they wouldn't install from there, either.
I have confirmed that she has root access. I have Root Browser installed to her profile and can access the entire device storage.
Can anyone help me out? Something tells me there's a simple solution here, since the device is rooted and all of the programs/services necessary for logging into a Google account are already installed on the device. Would locating the necessary files and copying them to system work?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I think you should re-enable temporarily the stock launcher, that might be your problem. Then, you can set up another launcher and re-hide the stock one.

Thanks for the response.
The launcher isn't the problem. I managed to get Nova Launcher installed on the secondary profile, so I do currently have a working launcher.
The problem is that I can't get logged into a Google account, therefore I can't get into the Google Play Store. That's the problem I'm trying to solve. And as I mentioned originally, the Play Store and other Google apps are working just fine on the primary user profile.
If anyone has any ideas I'd love to hear them. Thanks.
Hi,
Is anyone else having issues installing the prime photos app, the Amazon drive app and the Amazon Alexa app from the play store? I have trieda few times and keep getting an error code '505'.
I have also tried to install the Amazon app store to see if I can install them from there, but the app fails to install also despite unknown sources being enabled for Chrome and files.
If anyone can shed any light on this I'd appreciate it.
Cheers!
Same here
I'm having exactly the same problem. I'm unable to install Amazon Prime from the app store and updates to the preinstalled Amazon apps also fail. I've tried reaching out to Huawei, but haven't had a response yet.
have amazon prime, music and video all installed without issues
Sorted

I've just deleted the pre-installed Amazon apps and downloaded them again and all working now. Must have been an issue in the original download.
What's about shopping app?
Play store says it's not compatible
Same
Exactly the same as with the other apps. I deleted the shopping app and reinstalled it as new from the play store and it worked. Haven't been any updates since, so don't know whether it will update ok in the future or whether will need to reinstall everytime.

Too bad I had no preinstalled Amazon apps.
As workaround, I have installed the apk from apkmirror
Thank you - I was having this issue and uninstalling the Amazon shopping app that came pre installed (and also wouldn't update via play store) and then reinstalling it did the trick!
I've got exactly the same problem as nrdmtt. I uninstalled the Amazon Shopping app to try and fix Amazon apps not installing or updating, and now the Play Store says it's not compatible with my phone. Derp.

Same problem, Amazon shopping says it isn't compatible with my phone. All other Amazon apps won't install, 505 error. Can't sideload, same error.
The weird thing is that when I got the phone I copied all settings and apps from my Samsung S7 edge via Huawei smart clone. All the amazon apps worked but prime video was SD not HD. Saw other people with the same problem that said deleting and reinstalling fixed it. I tried this and then couldn't reinstall, so the next suggestion was to remove all amazon apps and reinstall. Wish I'd never tried as no Amazon apps will reinstall, tried all documented fixes and also reformatted the cache partition. Also noticed the play store via web browser shows the prime video app as already installed on my P20 Pro.
I'm not factory resetting my phone as this doesn't always resolve it so will just do without any amazon apps for now. I'm now on the 110 firmware, C782 UK O2 and still the same. Amazon and Huawei are looking into it but haven't heard from them for a while now.
So after I uninstalled the Amazon Shopping app I've been able to successfully install Amazon Music. I've not tried any of the others as I don't use them.
I'm guessing we'll have to wait for an update from Amazon.

Ok so I just sideloaded the Amazon Shopping app. It's the latest build from May 31st labelled version 16.10.0.100. It installed fine and other Amazon apps install as well. Tested with Kindle installed from the Play Store.

Uninstalled all my amazon apps, but now none will reinstall when attempted from Play store. Now have no amazon apps on phone pigged off right now. Really need to get this sorted. I am going to get onto Huawei tech support and log this with them too, hopefully the more that do will force a correction. Will have to revert to my old Samsung S7 to watch Prime video and listen to music on my travels now.

I had the same issue, I removed all amazon apps and none of them would reinstall, just got the 505 error and Amazon and Huawei couldn't help.
Recently I managed to resolve it, follow these steps, it may work for you too:-
1. Go to settings
2. Apps & notifications
3. Select Apps
4. Tap the settings gear at the bottom
5. Select App links
6. Here I saw the Amazon shopping app listed (even though it had been uninstalled and didn't appear anywhere else) Your phone may show a different amazon app
7. Tap the Amazon app
8. Tap the app logo/text at the top of the screen
9. Now there's an option to uninstall, uninstall the app and now you should be able to install most amazon apps.
Now I can install any amazon app except the shopping app as the Play store says my phone isn't compatible, so I sideloaded instead and it works fine. It looks as though sometimes the apps may not uninstall completely which obviously causes issues. I haven't seen any 505 errors since.
Hope that helps.

You are wonderful, worked a treat. So happy to have apps back as now means when I take my mother on an 8 hour crossing of the Irish Sea, I can stick on my headphones and watch a movie instead!
for me amazon prime video came pre-installed on my p20 pro and has got latest updates.

Pleased it worked and thanks for the update! I went almost 3 months without any amazon apps so was happy when I figured this out.
I've passed the solution on to Huawei because I think a few are having the same issue.
yeh I can't get the latest update to amazon shopping as now says not supported for any of my huawei devices
Amazon Shopping App issues
I was having same issues, couldn't even find Amazon shopping app from my P20 Pro on Google Play and on my laptop was getting "No eligible devices for app install".
Have however managed to install from the Huawei AppGallery on my phone. All the writing is in Chinese in the AppGallery but once installed and opened, it's all in English. I was able to sign in with my existing amazon account and it lists an outstanding order that I'd just made from my laptop. All seems well. YNWA.

Great advice thanks - I had the same problem, which your solution seems to have solved
None of the above solutions work for me. Amazon App Store won't open, the rest of Amazon apps work fine.
