Hi I've got a Huawei P8 lite, on the latest version, stock everything, I know how to unlock the bootloader and have the unlock code, my question is which version of twrp do I use and which version of magisk do I use for root and will I have any issues regarding safetynet?

do you mean by "latest" your on oreo and emui 8? magisk 16.0 works fine and i think you will pass safety unless you install xposed.

Hi, really sorry for the late reply, been an unusual year, its currently on EMUI 5.0 (Nougat) and if I go to system update it reports back saying thats the latest update, any idea how to get it to do the update to EMUI8?
TIA

good morning to all, I wanted to ask if after having unlocked my bootloader of my p8 lite 2017 it is normal that this screen appears (screen attached) on power up. I also did the flash twrp but when I try to go on it always comes out the screen attached

Also, did you save a screenshot or write down your code?
yes, I have anootated my code but will I still need it? For what? To access the twrp, so what should I do?

The code is needed in case you want to relock the bootloader or the phone relocks it, now that the Huawei bootloader website is gone for good

Guys continue to have problems after doing the flash of twrp with adb. I can not access in any way to twrp because if I press power and vol up me comes out the screen that comes out on power (screen attached) but without options and remains stuck on this whatever I press. Also I would like to install the new version pra-lx1c432b209 that came to me via ota but every time I try it goes wrong and returns to the screen above
If I try to flash the twrp again, do I risk the phone?

No,
However did you let go of the buttons immediately when the Huawei screen comes on? If you leave your fingers on them it wont work
Is there still a way to get the bootload code for the P8 lite, or is there any other way to get root acces for it?
I redid the flash to twrp. Now finally the twrp is ok. Now instead, I wonder why the system update pra-lx1c432b209 goes wrong? Can I try to install with twrp putting update.app in folder dload in microsd?
I have not done the root on the phone yet

Hi,
a friend of mine has got in China a P7 with a strange EMUI 2.0 firmware (I always knew that P7 came with 2.3 since the first version). I wanted to upgrade it to the EMUI 3.0, then I downloaded the package from emui.com, I extracted the dload directory and copied to the internal memory (the same procedure I succesfully did with mine) but when I booted it holding Vol-, Vol + and Start button I just went into the stock recovery interface.
I though was a problem of the recovery, then I restarted with adb into bootloeader mode but the screen was all empty except for "fastboot mode" wrote at the bottom. When I tried to flash another recovery I got an error saying that flashing the recovery was not allowed.
Anyone knows what the problem is?
Thanks in advance

And also is resisting to any attempt to unlock: do not give Product ID so I cannot produce the unlocking code, neither are working all methods I found on the web. I may have to give up
maybe there is a firmware for your p7-L07 like there is for the p6-u06 where you can flash a so called unicom version and first downgrade and then upgrade/update..
and hopefully this downgrade unlocks the bootloader..
just my thoughts..

Thanks blueIBI, the problem is how to flash it, since the normal way do not work. After copying the dload directory on the phone memory, if I use the system menu to perform local upate or I reboot by pressing Vol+ Vol- Start I always end up in the recovery menu, the firmware gets never installed.
Will try harder.

The phone belongs to a friend of mine. I own another P7 and they look exactly the same. It came in the original box with everything, so I have no doubt that it is original.
The fact that it has EMUI2.0 make me think that it was one of the first released to the market. The phone is working fine, just it is not upgrading on-line and I cannot find a way to upgrade it manually. I will try contacting Huawei support.

Flash system img and boot img via minimum adb and fastboot. If you have the original recovery put dload folder(Present in firmware zip) in sdcard. While phone is off turn it on by pressing all buttons power + Volume up+ volume down. This will force update your phone.

For rooting read this thread thoroughly.
Don't skip any part otherwise you might end up at soft brick again.

Are you sure that you are doing it correctly what happens when you force update the software? Does it fails? It should work. Download firmware of your phone extract it. There should be a dload folder in the extracted data. Put dload in root directory of sdcard. Then turn on your phone by pressing all buttons. You will see emui logo then the update will start automatically.

See this Thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/p8lite/general/mega-thread-root-unbricking-updating-t3400994
So:
1. Download drivers and fastboot/adb
2. Follow instructions to enter in fastboot mode (its important to be on FASTBOOT. Now, i dont know, if your phone will show anything, but from adb command you will see if its connected or not)
3. Go to chapter 4 from the specified thread
4. Now your phone gonna be revived with a lower version firmware, from where you have 2 options: update via OTA: with major build steps, or update manually (but carefully: you have update with major builds: eu fw: 170 or 188, 550 or 560, 564, 574,)
5. For cn fw, you have dedicated thread too.

Try this method.https://www.youtube.com/shared?ci=r6nXXHa-8_4
I know his screen is working but as you can see by pressing all buttons you don't have to use the screen the update starts by itself. So you just need to do the same thing and leave your phone like at least 30~40 mins.
Yeahh the phone is working again. This time i did the dload folder on internal storage instead of sd kart. Now the force update worked. A BIG thanks to Suleiman01 and tamaskurti for not giving up on me and keep helping, THX
Glad to hear that. Our p8 lite cannot be bricked so easely. Always its a method to recover it.
Hello,
I tried for a few days to upgrade my huawei to build B586 but I haven't been succesful. I unlocked my boot and tryied to upgrade trough brick method(but switching the img files to the b586 ones with huawei extractor). I have no option to update from local and the vol+,- and power buttons do not work. I get stuck at boot screen.
My curent build is B574. Do you have any sugestions how I can upgrade? or downgrade than upgrade? The update to 6.0 was done via update from local option, which i don;t have anymore.
Thank you in advance.
It works with me in similar situation, not sure if it work with you!
Downgrade B574> B300
and then...
Upgrade B300> B586 or B588
Hmmm... I had a similar problem. Coming from the RRevolution Custom Rom, when i tried flashing stock again i couldn't. The Power+Vol.Buttons method would give me bootloop. Even though the phone was booting, i followed the unbricking guide, flashing boot, recovery, system and cust (search it up, it's in the forums). After flashing everything and rebooting my phone, it went straight into the upgrade method (the one you get with the Power+Vol) and installed B586 just fine. No problems since and i am now using the B588, so it might work just the same with that one too. Hope this helps

Did you tried put B300 on the dload folder and then press 3 buttons?
From what I understood, you can't use the 3 button method, right? The phone will just boot... Try pressing all three and when you see the boot logo just release the power button and keep holding the other two. I've seen people getting over such problems by doing this. It probably sounds stupid but i would give it a shot... Also, try putting the upgrade.app file both on internal and external sd!

Can you get to Recovery (TWRP)?
[Power button+Volume Up button]
If yes download the official Rom from :
http://en.miui.com/getrom.php?m=yes
And flash it via twrp
Hope this helps!
or if you are not able to use twrp, follow these step
http://en.miui.com/a-234.html
this method does not require any root or modification, it just helps you to go back factory reset state. (it also locks bootloader too, you may need bootloader unlock tool if you desire to install other roms)

Hello, people of XDA,
I had decided to restore my Galaxy A5 2015 (A500FU) back to TouchWiz. I had used Odin to flash the firmware back, and I had done the usual, flash into AP and left Auto-Restart on. I then realised, when the device was supposed to boot up, the screen when black and the phone turned off. I tried booting into download mode and into the recovery mode but nothing doesn't seem to work. I have even tried charging it but after 30 minutes, nothing seems to happen, even if I try to start up to download or recovery mode.
Help would be very much appreciated.
Thank You,
Josh

Why did you flash a firmware with and android version of 4.4.4 a.k.a kitkat? The latest is Marshmallow 6.1.0. What version of android did u have before u flashed kitkat? I think you flashed an old firmware over a more recent bootloader, which means u will be stuck and bootloop. Also, can you describe a bit more about what the problem of your device - like what actually happens when you hold the power button etc. Does you display turn on? You said u left it for charging for 30 Mins and the device still did not turn on... might be hardware related. When you try to boot into download mode or recovery, what happens on device? Please answer my questions and we might get closer to solving your problem.

I had the same problem but I still somehow rooted and installed twrp on my device without ever using oem unlock . I am pretty unsure on how I did it but I think I just used CF-Auto Root and then installed twrp later. The CF root file just rooted my phone somehow without me even finding the oem unlock. Just to say, if you are going to use CF, do at your own risk - Just search up how to root SM-a500F
