Pull down bar on lock screen - Huawei P20 Pro Questions & Answers

Is it possible to enable the pull-down bar when on lock screen on the Huawei p20 pro ?

That would allow access to security settings, so would defeat the point of a lock.

He has a point, if you allow to slide down notification on lock screen, you can either glitch or bypass some how to access settings.
So this is why slide down isn't available on lockscreen to avoid this from happening.

Pretty sure stock Android allows this. Useful for toggling quick settings which don't really need security protecting. You would only be able to glitch past the lock screen if it was very poorly implemented.

True it does, but not safe that it does, so Huawei in a way did a good point to remove it on theirs to keep it more secure.

Not really. Every manufacturer allows for the notification shade to be expanded on the lockscreen while the phone is locked.
Only Huawei decided to be smarter and disable it completely. They just broke it. The feature was there on SW ver. 106. v.107 and later don't have it anymore. Along with expanding the notifications on the lockscreen in order to take action. Also something that stock Android as well as every other manufacturer has on their phones, but Huawei.
There is a topic about this in the P20 section of XDA.

I don't like it to be active in lock screen, so I'm really happy the way it is.

There is the slight bonus of a thief not being able to disable GPS and Mobile Data. They'll want to turn on the phone again at some point even if they do just shut it down. Unless it goes straight to being stripped down for parts I guess...

Face Unlock Straight to Home Screen

Hey XDA'ers,
I just picked up my N6 a few days ago.. I've been on Nexus devices after I gave up on the Galaxy S3. Never looked back! (Except for my CM12 LG G3 )
So here is my question to you all. Has anyone created or integrated app/code that once your face is recognized, unlock to home screen without a swipe? I was comparing the iOS finger unlock with my fam this weekend and it would be nice not to swipe up even though your face has been recognized.
If its not implemented, I can donate some money for someone to create something like that if plausible. Maybe a bounty if others are interested.
Thanks for taking a look!
Is that not the default behavior when you select face unlock as your security? I haven't used it in a little while however I am sure that is how it works. Turn on phone, look at it, boom home screen.

Nope. I use face unlock right now. Once it recognizes your face, it allows you to swipe up. It didn't automatically unlock.
Couldn't this pose a risk of unlocking when unintended? Perhaps you just want to see notifications on the lock screen quickly and see if you actually want to unlock and act? Or what about changing the track in the lock screen music player?

I wish it worked like that on 5.0...

I see your point, however if someone were to make an app or bake it into a ROM, there could be a "hold off for __ seconds" before it checks for a face and goes to home screen. For instance, you could make it zero if you want immediate unlock, 10 seconds to check notifications. And if you didn't want to unlock and just check notifications, you would just hit the icon so it stays locked until you swipe up at that point (how it is with 5.0 at the moment.

Then I would be too impatient when I want to skip the lock screen and just swipe anyway - defeating the purpose. Swipe is faster than wait 10 seconds to auto-unlock.

Again, its only for users who want to utilize that "feature". I don't know, maybe I'm the only one who cares about this haha.

Similar thought: I'd like to have no lock screen at all when smart lock unlocks the phone with trusted device/location as well.

I think it just makes sense! If you don't want it, simply deactivate the feature, right? I'm starting my developing classes later thus summer. Maybe I'll be able to cook something up if nothing shows up by then haha.
Thanks for your interest guys, but it looks like not many are interested :/
+1 definitely would love someone to fix this
Bump because I want this, I can't figure how to do something like this with tasker.
What I want:
Condition: Lockscreen locked with pattern, trusted face enabled and triggered.
Scenarios:
1. Notifications present? Remove pattern but allow me to swipe to unlock when I'm ready. (Current behaviour)
2. No notifications? Go straight to homescreen without any interaction as soon as my face is detected. (New behaviour)

Yeah that sounds like what I had in mind. I'll take a look at what I can do with Tasker.

I've been trying every combination of tasker and secure settings I can think of, but there's no way I can detect when smart lock is triggered with the built-in settings.
http://nelenkov.blogspot.com/2014/12/dissecting-lollipops-smart-lock.html
I read that, and there seems to be a per-user trusted flag that's edited by smart lock, if tasker somehow could read it, we could trigger actions with it.
There problem is I don't know where the flag is or how to read it, I'm a bit out of my league here, maybe you are more knowledgable in this matter.
Take a look at the Stock LG G2/3/4 ROMs, this is their default Face Unlock behavior. I came from the G2 and am having withdrawals, partially because of this feature.

Clarification about the Smart Lock feature

Hello everyone!
Since the release of the Lollipop upgrade and the introduction of the Smart Lock feature, I've been regularly coming across with posts like these:
Smart lock doesn't work, it keeps asking for my finger print to unlock

Its not working for me, when I wake up my phone, I have to swipe up to access my pin entry screen

So I decided to create this thread in order to clarify how the lockscreen works when Smart Lock is enabled and a trusted device is connected.
Swiping from the little lock icon on the bottom of the screen, brings back your specified secure lockscreen. It is a way to secure your phone again, even if a trusted device or other set conditions for Smart Lock are met.
Swiping from anywhere else on the screen should unlock the phone without any security checks.
Check out this video I made to explain it a bit better:
Some people may think this is not an intuitive way, however, I personally find it quite useful to have the option to quickly secure my lockscreen without disconnecting a trusted device.
In any case, swiping from a starting point anywhere other than the small lock icon, will unlock the phone without any security checks.
I hope I helped.
Cheers!

Is there a way to toggle a secure lock screen?

Benzo Rom for the Nexus 6 running 5.1.1 Lollipop allows the ability to toggle a secure lock screen from the quick settings in the notification drawer. For example, from the launcher, I can pull down the notification drawer to access the quick settings panel and tap the lock screen option and it will automatically engage the lock screen even if there was a password/pattern/gesture/pin, etc. previously setup. If I tap it again, it will remove the secure lock screen.
My concern is that this feature was built into the custom ROM itself and I don't know an alternate solution to this. Is there any solution to achieve this?

I think starting in MM (6.0), Google locked down this feature in favor of the smart lock function. You can set a trusted place, trusted device (bluetooth or NFC), trusted face or unlock until it detects it's been set down (on body). More information
I think, because the intents/secure action has been removed, it's not going to be something offered as a quick tile. I'm not aware of a work around.
That said, it's possible a ROM like lineage might offer this type of functionality.

I am currently running Pure Nexus Android 7.1.2 and have done some extensive digging to realize that a lot of keyguard and lockscreen solutions for Nougat and Marshmallow aren't working at all.
Taskers keyguard toggle option as well as Secure Settings keyguard toggle and lock screen features are broken and not working.
Secure settings is pretty old and outdated as it's been well over 2 years since it's been updated. The only options left are Taskers AutoInput looks really painful and the only other option is SecureTasks. The thing with SecureTasks is that it's relatively new and hasn't been tested long term and the method to gain device ownership looks really sketchy.

Hide status bar on the lockscreen

It's been a while since the MIUI 10 Global update and no solution to this issue. Is there a way to hide status bar or disable pull down option, for e.g. via ADB? It's serious security flaw but since the update (months ago) nothing has been done.
I don't understand how is having status bar on lockscreen is serious security flaw? kindly please i would like to know. also it is been long that i have not been on MIUI so little unaware.
A far as i remember about notification shade pull down, if you want to turn off notification shade pull down then you can turn them off in under settings > notifications & status bar.
Nah, they turn that off in the newest update, so even when the phone is locked, you can pull down QS and turn options off and even edit all the tiles without the need to unlock or type your PIN.
Just image your phone gets stolen and mobile data and GPS can be turned off immediately.

Disable Swipe Down Menu on Lockscreen

Is there a way to disable the swipe down menu on the lockscreen? The whole point of the phone being locked is so that I can only access the info/notifications.
Well if I can just swipe down while on the lockscreen and see the previewed text/who o missed a call from/email etc it kinda makes locking the phone pointless.
Any idea how to disable that feature? I feel like I'm just missing it but IDK?

This is under settings, lockscreen, notifications.
You can hide content or disable them on lockscreen in general.

I can still drag the pull down menu when the screen is locked.
Anyone can turn on/off Audio, Flashlight, Blue light filter, Do Not Disturb, Auto Rotate, Always On Display, Sync, Edge Lighting, Dolby Atmos, Night mode, Bixby Routines and Navigation bar settings. Either I am missing something or allowing anyone unfettered access to the settings on the locked screen is a new feature of the OS.
I want to completely disable/hide the pull down menu on the locked screen. If I need to do anything on the phone with the exception of making emergency calls and using the camera, I should first login with the pattern, fingerprint or facial recognition. A Samsung rep responded to a post similar to this on the Samsung community forum that only a third party app can completely disable that pull down menu. smh. I really hope someone here found a way to disable that menu.
