[Request] Stock prerooted * FLASHABLE ROM * for SM-N950F - Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Questions and Answers

Hi guys..
I'm trying to find prerooted flashable ROM (8.0 Oreo) for Note8 (SM-N950F) but can't find it.
Anyone have it or know where could I find it?
It could be 100% stock, only I need is that it's prerooted (if it's possible with superSU method).
I'm currently away from my PC and can't flash it by Odin and root it, I can only flash zip so I would really appreciate if someone has it or know where can I find one.
Tnx in advance

I only know this Rom (best is read the complete OP)
https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?ur...share_tid=3746309&share_fid=3793&share_type=t
But if you have custom binary (like TWRP) installed, you can root simple as often you want.
Don't be afraid to hit the "Thanks" button if someone helped you. It don't hurts

Thanks mate, I'll check that link.
I'm having problems with dr.Ketan's ROM ver.8, I'll try ver.9 first and if nothing change I'll have to use Odin and flash stock fw. but then there's no root before I come home...
I'm not sure do I have kernel problems or ROM problems and can't find out so I need temp solution just for a few days.
I'll try clean install and we'll see, I know dr.Ketan knows what's he doing and the problem must be here at my side.
It's really strange that we don't have stock prerooted flashable ROM, on Sony we had that...never mind, I'll try this link.
It's easier to flash that then using Odin for fw, TRW and then root it.
Once again - tnx buddy

Maybe your download Rom zip was simple corrupt. That's why people check md5 checksum before flashing. Other people have a nandroid backup to recover their running system, if something goes wrong. That also save time and nerves [emoji6]
Deluxe Rom is also a fine Rom with root method options in aroma installer. Many customizing possible but you can leave it also stock like.

@_alexndr DevBase ROM is just that.

How to root the note from step one?

Hi guys. I'm quite a new note user. Lose everything that this phone has to offer. But I just want to take it a notch up. I want to try custom roms and everything. But I need help with rooting my phone first. Anyone kind enough to help me step by step?
Thanks in an advance.
Power to the note!

I was new to the note a week ago and followed THIS guide. Scroll down to where it says "2. I Want ROOT + CWM" and follow it from there. That is assuming you want cwm (clockworkmod recovery) which i use to flash the roms.
Its simple enough to follow and now im happily running on rocket rom v19
Ok, u've got then several Methods:
1st and best: Forum Search!
2: Another Kernel comes with root and ClockWorkMod, CF-ROOT by chainfire
Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1331784
3: Easy Rooting Toolkit (only root no other modifications on ur system) by DooMLoRD:
Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1329360
All this are good guides, just try.
If you want Root and a Custom rom, u've got:
4: Flash a ROM with pre-root:
Maybe one of this:
1: CheckROM Revo NoteHD
2: SheepROM
3: RocketROM (my preferred one )
4: ROMOW
5: Stock ROOT ROM (Such as XXLA4)
Just have a look at them.
I hope i helped you, whed i've done so, pls click Thanks-Button
And sorry for my english...
Schnizel.
I am new to the Note too. After reading some threads I think the best way to start is rooting and flashing the CF-Root kernel by chainfire http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1331784 using method 1.2 if possible with your firmware version.
Don't forget to
- note your firmware version before doing anything
- make a CWM-backup after flashing CF-Root kernel (and copy it to PC)
- make a backup of your /efs folder (this is where your IMEI and other important stuff are stored, read this to learn how)
in case something goes wrong and you want to restore.
Don't flash custom roms using PC Odin, flash them using CWM or Mobile Odin because flashing custom roms with PC Odin will make the bootscreen show a yellow triangle and change the binary counter in download mode, both will shout "hey I messed with my phone" at the customer service in case you got an warranty issue.

Which root for Gingerbread XWJVI?

I would like to root my Samsung Galaxy S but i cannot find the right root file for my gingerbread xwjvi. I would like to afterwards flash to the new android 4. So it needs to work with clockworkmod.
I have look through this thread but not found any for XWJVI:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=788108
If you find the right root file, tell me please! I also need it!
FOund it but confused
Alright the root file is over here - link This works only if you are running Froyo(2.1)(Do this at ur own risk .Im not responsible if anything goes wrong!!!!)
You have to install this root file by booting into recovery and then installing the update.zip by selecting install update from sd card in the bootloader menu(I am assuming that u know how to do this but if you dont just post it)
By the way you can flash(install) android 4 custom ROM using the stock recovery too. Why do u wanna use CWM only to flash the ROM???
THanks for your answer webconnect.
Actually you are right when you wonder why i only ask for the CWM.
What i actually want to do is to have the lastest stable android on the phone.
Then only thread i found about this stated to root and then use cwm.
If you know another way with the stock recovery instructions would be much appreciated.
Thanks alot in advance
hi i'm just helping my friend to root her SGS and I came across this:

hope it helps you as how it helped me too

Error while flashing Rom with CWM

hi.
i have an Australian N7000B Note, and it is currently rooted on the latest available android in the country for the phone (2.3.6)
i have superuser and CWM installed.
i can boot into CWM and navigate with no worries, but whenever i try to install any custom rom, regardless what rom it is, i get the same error.
i really want to get off this crappy rom that Telstra provides with the phone, so any help is greatly appreciated.
many thanks
pic attatched of error.
Use ODIN to flash a stock ICS or GB ROM and then re-root and add cwm and try again
the issue you face is because your version is the GT-N7000B and the build.prop is for the GT-N7000 so its failing because it believes the ROM is for a different device.
if the product codes do not match up in the build.prop it will fail - this applies to all devices and all ROMs.
you could also open the .zip and find the build.prop and change all of them, But its a pain in the ass !

Because these are for the N7000 if i flash a stock ICS rom on my N7000B what will happen?
http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=8
Put your details in there and it will find you a stock ROM. Ive seen threads where N7000B users have flashed N7000 ROMs without any issues.
EDIT: You CAN use any GT-N7000 firmware !
Awesome! I am downloading the Gingerbread Australian Rom as we speak for the N7000. if i flash it with odin, root it, and then install CWM would it work with installing custom roms such as paranoid android etc?
Yes because the Stock firmware will remove the 'B' and you will have no more install errors
Be sure to follow the instructions to the letter !! and make a nandroid before commencing.

Well, i have a nandroid backup of the current firmware, i made it just after i rooted it.
so, i will flash it with Odin on PC correct? does it require i wipe everything off the phone?
sorry for the questions i am a noob lol
you can wipe before or after it makes no difference so long as your on GB.
Dont ever wipe on ICS unless your on a safe kernel.
But do do a wipe as it will start you off on a fresh clean install

Csc stands for country sales code, it affects your kies connection and ota update cycle for that region but little else certainly no effect on battery at all.
If you were to change Csc it will also perform a FULL WIPE of the rom, as you're on an unsafe kernel, that's not recommended. I would install a custom kernel like hydracore or philz before doing the change to save any super brick issues.
Hope that makes sense.

Thank God someone is trying to help and thank you for your reply.
why should i use a custom kernel since my rom is official and the kernel is official as well why are you refering that i am on unsafe kernel?
now if Csc will preform a FULL Wipe it means i will lose my settings and datawhich in this case i have a backup so will that be fine to be preformed then?
i am just asking coz i never tried to use a custom kernel or a cooked rom yet not intrested for the time being to do so if you understand what i mean.
Please let me know since i'm little confused about the matter,
thank you.

basically its best to root device and make an efs backup on original rom. This to preserve efs, csc, pcode, emei as flashing other csc roms have corrupted it for me. People have lost service that way.
All ics, unless safe kernel, which is none of the stock ones have unsafe kernel. Philz, Speedmod or Hydra is safe. with those you can change csc safely. As csc triggers a wipe, which is dangerous on unsafe kernel as link above says.
So steps are root, use Phills method, adapted by Shoeyies here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=30434805 Download the superuser with busybox and the unroot zip. To get into recovery turn phone off, turn on and immediately press volume up home button and power button at same time, keep pressed. Flash the root zip. You can navigate in recovery with volume keys and select with powerbutton. after flash reboot.
Download ktool from market place (can make efs backup, and stock kernel)
Make efs, stock kernel backup safe multiple locations
Backup whatever else you want to keep, just in case.
Download safe kernel tar file, speedmod is my favourite stock. Hydra shares that place. Flash tar file with ktool.
Now you are safe, reboot
dial *#06# for emei, write down
dial *#272*yourrmeihere# for list csc. Select the one you want and press install.
To unroot, flash stock kernel with ktool. reboot recovery and flash unroot zip from same thread.
Note all at own risk, may loose warrante. Root does normally.
Edit probably there is easier way, I just know this one

[Q] Re-flashing GT-N7000 with Odin3...

Hello,
I have to tell you that I'm completely new at this, and therefore even more uncertain to start doing the job I think that needs to be done, without having you guys consulted first.
Two weeks earlier, after reading and studying the internet for lots and lots of hours, I decided to flash my Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000 (Netherlands), using the Odin3 (v.1.83) software, with the downloaded German firmware version: N7000XXLSZ_N7000OXALSZ_DBT. And fortunately, to my own big surprise, everything just worked out fine and I’m having Android Jelly Bean 4.1.2 installed and running in Dutch.
A few days ago, I read the message on the internet that for the Note GT-N7000, the Dutch firmware version: N7000XXLSZ_N7000XENLS4_XEN, finally became available and was now to be downloaded here http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/ . And so I did…
As I stated before, I am completely new at this and here are some questions I would like you to help me out with:
1. A little voice in my head keeps saying, that I should “re-flash” my Note again to have the right firmware for my smartphone. Although I would very much like that, would you also advise me to do so?
2. If so, would it be just as simple, using Odin3 again, as I did before (so: “just flash”) or am I thinking too simple now? So, whatever the answer, could you please explain me the procedure I should follow to have the Dutch firmware installed – if so advised by you?
3. I am also thinking about rooting my Note. I have seen several instruction videos on the internet, but most of them were explaining about rooting the Note that still had the Android Ice Cream firmware installed. I am not sure if I could “simply follow” that procedure, let alone, if the rooting software the videos are talking about would also work on an Android Jelly Bean smartphone?
4. If Odin3 also is capable of rooting my smartphone, would it be easier for me (being a novice) to use Odin3 as well for this purpose?
5. Would you please be so kind to advise me in this matter as well with the procedure for me to be followed and the software to be downloaded and/or used?
I really hope to hear real soon from you.
Thank you!
Robert.
1. there is not much of a difference between the 2 firmwares apart from a few widgets and lock screen shortcuts ( i think). its up to you if you want.
2. yes same procedure will just do fine for the new firmware too. detailed tutorial http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
3. easiest way is using one of these kernels. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1901191. it will auto root and safe.. procedure requires an SD card. same explained here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1329360 procedure 1A
4. odin can be used to root but it will cause the counter to raise and yellow triangle at boot... so use the 1A method
5. As explained above

Thank you for your swift reply.
Advising me to use the "1A method", it says:
Installation
1.a Pre installation : (For clean installation, optional)
- Make backup with Titanium Backup or other similiar app.
- First flash GB ROM if you are on any other ICS/Custom ROM
- wipe cache, data from recovery on GB ROM
Would it be safe for me to think that, flashing my Note again, the "1A method" does not apply to me at this moment since I already have the JB ROM (4.1.2) installed and running? Also, when I flashed my Note earlier with the JB ROM (4.1.2) through Odin3, all the data on my phone was kept intact. Was I lucky here, or does that all make sence?
Now, reading most of these forums, I often stumble upon the word "kernel", which frightens me a bit because these "kernels" mostly need to be downloaded for use. What is it, talking about kernels, that you are really talking about then? I mean, I don't suppose that a kernel is the same as my N7000XXLSZ_N7000XENLS4_XEN firmware?
You also advised me to make use of this kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1901191 but, using this link, I don't see and/or understand WHAT I should be downloading or WHERE I should be downloading this kernel.
Could you PLEASE (!) take me by the hand here (step by step), before I mess everything up and with that, killing my Note?
I hope to hear from you again soon.
Thank you!
Robert,
Netherlands.:fingers-crossed:
- 1A is not from the link you are referring to.. its in the 3rd step.. to root.. donot follow 1A from the first link. its not needed.
- yes.. even when you flash the Dutch rom.. it will be intact if you donot do a wipe..
- the kernel i linked you to is a safe kernel which when installed auto roots the device and install CWM recovery..
here is a link to the LSZ kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=39105835&postcount=2749

OK! Thank you again!
Excuse me for still having some small questions left, although I begin seeing the light...
I've downloaded the kernel: PhilZ-cwm6-XXLSZ-OXA-4.88.2-signed (name of the RAR-file). Should I use both the Dutch ROM and the downloaded kernel-file to have them both installed, if so - in which follow-up?, or am I talking non sence here? Or, is the Dutch Rom included in the kernel-file?
I cannot start with the procedure right away, because I have to go to work now; maybe later tonight. I'll also have to find out first how to install the kernell through Odin3, unless ofcourse you could tell me right away.
Anyway, thank you for your help so far.
Again, I hope to hear from you - provided I'm not annoying you!
Robert
Its just the kernel,., its to root your phone.. you can use it on the current rom you have or later after installing the new rom.
is the Dutch Rom included in the kernel-file?

No.. considering the fact that rom size >= 900 MB and kernel size >= 8MB

Thank you again! But I am afraid, I still need your help .
After unzipping the Kernel file in a map on my desktop (see picture), I see three maps with several maps and more files included and the "zImage" file (which I think is the actual Kernel file?). Could you please tell me what to do next to let it all work within Odin3? Which file(s) should I pick and how and where do I connect them to Odin3? In short: ehhh... help?:crying:
Maybe I am making too much trouble out of it and am I seeing bears on the road that aren't even there - If so, I appologize. But please, take me by the hand here... A small relief however: I AM learning from your answers...
I hope to hear from you soon.
Thank you!
Robert,
Netherlands.
you donot need to unzip it.. just copy that file onto the ext sd card.. boot into recovery and choose apply update from external storage..
