Sudden death after gluing The display - Xperia Z3 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, unfortunately, I was not here for a long time so as you can see my phone decided to die ... but from the beginning, the screen went a few times so I stuck it together and it was always ok, this time has been sticking for over a month so today I decided that as always seal and glue the frame with the screen, nicely glued, start the phone and surprise here ... the phone gives no reaction anything. under the charger the green charging diode lights up, shows the battery that it is charging and ends up does not get up, the program sees that the device is connected but I can not enter it in any flash mode because it just does not go to it and when it's already lighting up The new charging image that goes out after a few seconds and the LED to re-route the network

Xperia Z dead the morning after being near a magnet

Hi all
I was unfortunate enough to walk past a very strong magnet yesterday, the kind they use for removing security tags from clothes (in a workshop environment, it was stuck to the edge of a workbench, the phone was in my pocket and grabbed onto the magnet as I walked past). The screen went purple and slowly faded to black, but turning it to standby and back on again it loaded up fine and the screen was back to normal and worked perfectly until I went to bed last night.
I have had the phone on charge all night, as I usually do, but today it was off, and will not turn on at all. Plugging it into my computers USB port causes a charging icon to appear on the screen (it's been on charge all night so shouldn't be flat), when I try to turn it on, it loads up half way to the "Sony" logo on the screen and then reverts back to the charging symbol. I have tried charging it on a 2A iPad charger, the official charger that came with it, a USB battery pack, and from a computer and leaving for half an hour each time and there is no sign of any change. The red charging LED is on as it usually is.
What can I try next? Is it likely to be toast? Considering a large number of retailers still sell magnetic phone holders for cars etc (Halfords for one), I find it hard to believe it would react this way to a magnet.
It's possible it's toast, I guess
Have you tried booting into recovery?
other than that, you may well have to contact Sony
I would try reflashing a stock rom if you can.
Might have wiped some of the memory and needs re-writing.
Phil
Hold the power button and the vol up for a few seconds until you feel 3 vibrations.
See if that helps
It might have corrupted the data or damaged the data chip itself. Try entering fastboot/flash mode and reflash the stock rom, you can find the flashtool and rom files in development section.
It's still under warranty, so you can always send it back claiming its faulty. The magnets that takes pins out of clothes are actually quite strong! We have a few powerful magnets in the lab I work with and more than a few credit cards and phones have been lost due to careless placement of magnets/items.
If the phone did stick to the magnet it may have toasted some internal memory. Let us know if you can flash a stock tft file.
Hi all
Sadly no luck with getting into recovery mode, it doesn't vibrate or anything when holding power and vol up or down just seems to stay in a loop coming up with the battery symbol and then cutting out. Must have fried/corrupted something to do with the charging circuit I think.
The magnet was incredibly strong, it can lift up a small desktop computer which must be around 10kg or so.
Time to dig out my spare SGS3 and send back to Sony I think.
Thanks for your suggestions, will head to the shop tomorrow and see what they say, I'm truly gutted as it was only a few weeks old and has been my favourite phone so fat, I've had it since launch day.
re
Have U tried this?
Start PC companion
Select upgrade
select repair phone
select phone model, the companion will download official firmware
shut down phone pressing power button for 10 secs.
hold the vol up button and put in the usb cable
pc companion will find the phone and restore the firmware , wait at least 10-15 minutes.
restart phone, wallpaper will appear, it may take 5-10 minutes until home screen appears!
Good luck!
Thanks for your reply Connectix, sadly it was not recognised by PC companion when I tried this, I think it's dead for now. Just heading out to take it back to the shop.
bro so sad....
take it to service center ...they will do it for u...
If I Helped U Dont Forget To Press Thanks

Hey, before you bring it back plug it into a wall charger and leave it for 1-2 hours (should give the battery at least 20% min). Then try going into recovery/flash mode again. I had a similar problem when flashing a rom and it hung for 20 minutes, battery died. This is just on the off chance that there might be low battery, but if the magnet can lift a 5kg weight I think you're screwed. Remember, no magnets at waist height!!!
Magnets usually don't kill electric devices. What a non sense. Perhaps it was somekind of electro-magnetic interference which caused the malfunction.
But I don't think it is possible for sony to detect this so you probably get this replaced under warranty.
Hi again
Sorry for the slow reply, Sony replaced the logic board under warranty so all sorted now. Won't be going near that magnet again!
Cheers for all your suggestions

my xperia z cant on,cant go into fastboot nor flash mode. on pc its detect QHSUB_DLOAD..last night i try to run antutu bench, so i overcock it to 1.89Ghz using DoomKernel ,same to my GPU,at 532Mhz. its too hot so i submerged it into cold water.:silly:
after that about 5 minutes, my Z suddenly blank, only black screen and its vibrate. so i make decision to open it and unplugged the battery connector and replugged back. but, what i found that my Z get water damage:crying:,cause i found a water droplet on its motherboard.so i dry it using hair dryer and blower.

[5803] Red Led of Death

Yesterday I went to the pool and took a few pictures underwater. The pressure sensor test showed no sign of a faulty waterproofing (did it right before dipping the phone), and I actually used it in the water many times. When I got out of the pool, the phone, with 70% battery, was turned off. I dried the phone and checked all the flaps, no problems detected. Flaps were in their right place and no sign of water could be detected inside.
When I turned it on, as soon as it booted into android it said "turning off..." and immediately switched itself off. I let it rest for a while, and noticed it then started booting up and turning itself off, in a loop. No hardware key combination seemed to be able to prevent this.
As soon as I got home, the phone was dead. I plugged it in the wall charger and the infamous 3 blinks of the red led appeared. I tried to charge it with everything I've got in the house, and from totally unresponsive I got to the point where the phone shows the sony boot logo, and then reboots.
Pushing the yellow reset button gets me 3 rapid vibrations, but then the phone keeps booting the sony logo and rebooting, in a loop
The water damage indicators are clean, I don't think water ever entered the phone but I still can't quite get my head around such a huge coincidence. Talk about occam's razor..
Do you have any suggestions? I'd prefer to solve it on my own than having to buy a substitute for the summer (I don't think Sony would repair it before August, knowing their timing)

is it root? unlock bootloader?
which firmware version?
what you get when connect to computer?
does flash tool or PCC detect it?
give more info for better solution
:good:
root with locked bootloader, fw 23.1.A.1.28 debloated by serajr, the phone is dead, I can't access the recovery and when connected to PC it doesn't get recognized.
The flash randomly flashes red or red+green+red, if I press the volumeUP button the led becomes blue (but still won't get detected by PC Companion, FlashTool for PC (Emma), Sony Bridge or FlashTool for Mac.
As soon as I unplug the phone, the notification led shuts off, as if the phone has no charge whatsoever.
When plugged to the wall charger, the screen turns on and either shows a battery (screen size) with a red stripe on the bottom and the lightning in the corner, or it gives a little vibration and shows the xperia logo (it looks like it's booting up), then turns off and repeats it in a loop.

Xperia z1 charging but not turning on

I have a problem with my xperia phone where when I connect it to its charger the red light will turn on and stay on but the actual phone its self will not turn on. I believe this has to do with water damage. Yesterday I tried using my, "waterproof", phone to take underwater photos and 120fps videos. I kept it under for maybe 35 seconds at the most. I took it out of the pool to look at the videos and it was working fine. When I went in next to take one picture I took it out and the screen was really dark so I went inside and the screen was working and phone was vibrating but screen was blank. I held down the volume up and power button to turn it off. When I went to turn it on again the sony logo flashed and the screen was bright again for less than half a second and then got really dark and the sony logo became very hard to see and then it turned off. I went inside and opened the flaps to check for leaks but there was no sign of any water at all. I left the phone overnight with the flaps open and when I plugged it in the next morning (today) the red light turned on. After leaving it for maybe an hour I could still not turn the phone on and there were not even any vibrations. Is there anything to do to save this phone? I LOVED this phone and its never let me down and my only backup phone at the moment is an iPhone 4 which I hate already after a just a few hours.
Please help me.
Thanks
The water can go through the backside maybe there are a leak.
I would turn the heating to full up and put the phone with open flaps on it.
Then wait 1-2 days and don't forget to put between phone and heating a paper then wait.
After 1-2 days you can try to start your phone.
A other solution (only for advanced user)
is disassemble your phone and looking on the indicator inside.

I'm sorry but I couldn't quite understand that could you try re-wording it?
Turn your heater up and put your phone on it.
Wait 2 days and then try to turn your phone on.
Maybe is your backside not waterproof.
You can try to dissemble your phone and looking for the indicators.
You understand?
Sorry english is not my primary language.

Thank you. Will try that

Xperia Z won't charge & turns off after waves

I was washing my xperia z like always; but this time some ports weren't completely unreachable by water cause they weren't like the first days, anyway the water went in and i could see a little water under the phone screen, also all the water indicators became pink.while the phone was working for some minutes; and then after minutes xperia shut down. but I could still turn it on; and it shut down after seconds every time.i also couldn't charge the phone. or it will be charging weird!(like it instantly became full charge ...) . and also i did sth silly in this time, i changed the battery and replaced it with a new one(i still don't know why i decided to do this in this situation:/).after that i tried again and this time the phone doesn't boot anymore.after showing those purple waves it shuts down. it also doesn't kind of charge anymore. cause when i plug in, the red light appears , and it charges for one percent then stops...anyway i decided to stop trying.I opened the phone back again and then removed battery, opened all the ports and put it inside rice bag for about two days. now it is still the same story(shutting down after waves) ... what should i do?
well, in short word...you're late.
If that happened to me, I'll turn it off, open all ports, remove the battery and put the device inside a rice bag immediately. We don't know where the water go and what component will break.
If you have another good battery, try it.
If it still the same, then all you need is a new phone.
