I've bought my Samsung Galaxy note 8 two months ago and it came with a pare of AKG earphones. After some time, I realised that the right earphone whit the volume controller is "much" lower than the left one. I took them off and the next day i tried them and they worked just fine. But after one month of using the problem came back but this time its not going any where. Then i bought a new 50$ earphones they also worked fine for a while and then the problem again appeared suddenly from no where. I tried the earphones on my galaxy tab s3 and the problem is still there. I searched on the internet and found that many people with Galaxy s8/s8 plus and note 8 have the same issue. But i didn't find what is the reason of this problem !! Any one knows why?? Or how to fix this ????
Well, here in XDA, note 8 section, it is the first time I see someone having this issue, I have my note 8 since Nov 2017 and the sound is normal, left and right channels
If you search in the internet you can find many people telling the same story. Of course not everyone has that problem but two earphones with the same problem
Have you tried using the same headset with other mobile devices?

Yes as i mentioned i tried them on my galaxy tab s3. But the problem goes no where!!!
Did you have someone else listen?
Maybe you need to have your ears checked?
Also strain/too much pulling on the wires may have created damage..

I dont think the problem in my ears cuz the problem is surprisingly much more common than u might think especially with s8/s8+ phones
Many people think the problem in AKG earphones as many reddit users replied to my post on s8 community

What mean by gsm? Data? Phone signals?

by GSM network. Now cannot make phone call only data can be use. So which part is GSM module? Or this problem can cause by motherboard? Thanks.

Same issue observed on all Roms or specific on currently installed ROM. Its looks like software issue if data is working ok. Whats the exact error showing on screen. Screen shoots are really helpful to decide whats going on actually and further solution.

is the gsm module was at the charging port there. the small board? coz the antenna wire is connected between motherboard and the small board. the connector for the antenna wire on the small board was spoiled, so i solder wire from motherboard to the small board. before the connector spoiled, i measure the resistant between signal point and body, i get the result is shorted 0 ohm. so is that is normal?
Is anyone having bluetooth issues with this phone? I continue to have the same issues carried over from the V30 to the G7 and now the V40. Specifically, when I connect the phone to my 2012 Subaru Legacy head unit, I get static on calls, but not when I stream media. It is quite frustrating that this company cannot sort out the bluetooth problems. For the record, it seems specific to a few vehicles, notably Subarus. My Galaxy S9 Plus does not have this problem., nor does my wife's iPhone.
Can't speak for Subaru but my Nissan Murano 2016 doesn't have any issues at all. Audio/Music and calls are all working as expected.
No issues with Ford's Sync 3.
Must be the lingering issue common to Subaru vehicles. It really is a shame that, from the V30 to the G7 to the V40, the problem continues. But, again, most users are not having this problem. Unfortunately, it keeps me from keeping this phone.

Out of curiosity I would try a stand alone bluetooth audio device that feeds into the head unit to bypass the factory bluetooth just to see what happens. Have you tried moving the phone around to see if it's getting interference from something? Just to test it out try connecting from inside your house and then go out to the car without your phone and see if you still have noise issues.
I can say one thing for a fact: Subaru Bluetooth sucks to the max. I've already replaced the head unit in my Outback due to Bluetooth issues and had some static or "road noise" as they say at the dealer on my WRX and thus won't replace it.
Issues with Pixel 2 XL, LG V40 and LG V30

Enable the Developer Settings, and spend sometime monkeying with the Bluetooth AVCRP version and other Bluetooth related settings such as CODEC. this may solve your issue.
I'll have to try this. Thanks

I came thisclose to doing that. I was concerned that I would lose some functionality. However, I may still change the HU.

I tried bypassing the Subaru HU as you suggested, It was a cumbersome setup that caused other problem. With the V40, the static seems to be worse when the phone is in my pocket than out (the opposite of the v30). I also hear a difference when I move the phone around the car. At this point I have returned the phone. However, I am seriously considering giving it a second chance, because 1) great deals are to be had, 2) it is an underappreciated phone that I really like, much like the V30. and 3) I know the issue is the Subaru HU, not the phone. If I do purchase again, I will do some serious trouble shooting.

Yup. If I give the V40 another shot (I am leaning in that direction), I will do that
Thanks for the tips, folks. I really appreciate it.

Based on your description, I wonder if your head unit is not properly grounded....

I might have thought something like that too. But when I had the V30, I had a similar (not exact) issue that others reported (suggesting a subaru issue in general, not my HU in particular). I have also had the HU looked at twice. Finally, It works well with my wife's iphone and my soon-to-be-sold GS9 Plus.
Not to rub it in, but the Bluetooth is working perfectly on all three cars, the OONZ(?) and the BOSE System at home.
Hope you get it sorted out.
EDIT: My phone is the V40 ThinQ - Verizon

I had not thought about that. Subaru has looked at it and found nothing. I am thinking of replacing the head unit at this point.

I work at Subaru, and the head unit is causing a lot of issues. Have your dealership perform an audio unit software update.. (crosstrek/outback/forester)

I did request an update for my Legacy about six weeks ago. The problem persists. Definitely an issue with the head unit. Thanks for confirming this.
I have decided to replace the head unit. More and more phones are having issues with it (V30, G7, V40, OnePlus 6, OnePlus 6T) and so at this point it is worth it to replace the HU. It seems as if the problem is spreading to other phones (software incompatibility, perhaps?) rather than being limited to LG's phones.

You're welcome, its seems to be the head unit, as a matter of fact i ordered a new one today for 2018 forester. Its even worse on iPhones, because whenever Apple updates vthe software Subaru would have to update the units to be compatible (Harmon Cardon).. Definitely not the phone, seems like you have tested with other phones and problem still persists.

The volume on calls is preety low .
Even on loudspeaker mode its weak
Here, i have the exynos version too and a don't have any complaints. Earpiece speaker and loudspeaker are pretty loud comparing to my old Galaxy 8. Maybe you both have same defect with your devices

Mine didn't bring one. When I bought the device I asked to apply one
Ok, just decided to peel off the factory screen protector and tried and i dont understand why, but now its sound much louder, i dont know why because the protector was not blocking the speaker. Now i gonna buy another cheap protector to see if that caused the problem or was other issue
Hi, just yesterday i bought a realme gt2 global version. I have been testing all the functions and it works perfectly, but in particular the quality of its microphone is horrible. I do not know if it is only my unit or if it happens in all units. Does anyone know something? Thanks
Oh man, hoping it is just yours - when I receive mine I will be able to confirm but I will likely only receive it end of the month / early April.
I noticed the same on some youtube video camera samples, in videos it sounds muffled. Do you mean call quality is bad too?
Same here. Compared with GT Neo 2 this GT2 mic is worse!

I think im between a Realme GT neo 2 (It has a good mic, but bad cameras....) or a Oneplus 9 Pro on 550€ (second hand but almost like new)... Its a shame, i was really happy with my GT2, but im going to hate not being able to send a WhatsApp audio with good quality...

In the tests that I have tried the Neo2 was better, but a little better. Taking into account the section of the cameras (the main one of the Neo2 is much worse than the imx766) and that it is from last year and will stop receiving updates a year before,… For my part, I would wait for the Neo3 or the Poco F4 to assess changing it. It is true that the price of the GT2 is a bit high compared to the Neo2, but if you have bought it on sale I think it is a good purchase, since the camera alone is worth about ~120$.
I also think that it is very valid for sending audio and talking on the phone, it may not be the best microphone but it defends itself. Maybe it can be fixed in an update (who knows?).
Sigh, this is really frustrating. I wonder if the Pro has the same issue?
So if one is on a phone, not on loudspeaker is it an issue or only if on loudspeaker?
WhatsApp voice notes not great quality either, not ideal. Wonder if an update would fix it although I'm assuming not.
Is there anyway to submit feedback to Realme? I'm hoping this is software, seems like such a dumb mistake or stupid place to cut corners
youtube.com/watch?v=4bejshojDpE
In this test video you can hear that the mic is very tinny... But it doesn't seem all too bad.

Yes, couldn't agree more...
I just received my device and the microphone doesn't sound bad!
I was prepared to send it back because of the mic but that isn't the case.
I have the global version and a quick comparison against my OP 5T its much worse. Theres background noise and it sounds muffled on the GT2 whereas my old phone sounds very clear compared to it.
This with the notification issue a few other people are having I may have to send it back
I just tested the mic and yeah it's not as good as my previous phone but it's not that bad.
Judging by what I've heard the problem is in the audio bit rate, realme for some reason keeps lauching phones with 96kbps instead of the minimum 192 or even 320kb.
Let's see if with the next updates they fix it. The march update is late by the way. Still on february security patch.
Hi! New owner of the GT2, having the same issue. I've reporter it here: https://c.realme.com/in/post-details/1511645176815226880 , don't know if is the right place, but let's hope... Also, please report, maybe it will be fixed.
I did something to test if it's a hardware problem or software related. You can check different audio types of recording using Open Camera from Google Play. In Open Camera there is an option to change the audio by going to Settings, Video settings..., Audio source, and chose which sounds better to you. So, lets hope for an update from realme or for a way to root and manualy fix this.
As I've said before my suspicions are correct, it's the software.
I recorded videos in different audio sources and they all sound **** but in Unprocessed mode it sounds clean as it can be, the only problem is the volume, it's very quiet and there's white noise.
They have to tweak the noise supression algorithm. It sounds like my headset microphone without post processing (noise supression, echo cancelation) my voice sounds correct but there's white noise and keyboard/mouse are audible.
With it enabled, I sound more "artificial" but the background noises are supressed.
And of course increase the bit rate, it's at 93kb. Lol
Such a pitty phones have soo many bugs and issues now a days.
I ended up getting a refund on my GT2as the store could not get the global version and then purchased a OnePlus 9RT. Seems I may have dodged a bullet and skipped owning a buggy phone.
My GFs Redmi Note 10 Pro also had issues with the mic and proximity sensor. Great phone otherwise, but makes it frustrating for her to use.
Hopefully Realme fix the issue.
Was looking forward to buy this. First, the screen quality issue. Next, this mic issue. As tech experts say, 'Dont buy a phone with issues, hoping about future updates'. Might have to drop this phone, and buy GT Neo 3.
