by GSM network. Now cannot make phone call only data can be use. So which part is GSM module? Or this problem can cause by motherboard? Thanks.

Same issue observed on all Roms or specific on currently installed ROM. Its looks like software issue if data is working ok. Whats the exact error showing on screen. Screen shoots are really helpful to decide whats going on actually and further solution.

is the gsm module was at the charging port there. the small board? coz the antenna wire is connected between motherboard and the small board. the connector for the antenna wire on the small board was spoiled, so i solder wire from motherboard to the small board. before the connector spoiled, i measure the resistant between signal point and body, i get the result is shorted 0 ohm. so is that is normal?

External Antenna

Hi , does anyone know if its possible to attach an external antenna ( for the cell phone not the gps or wifi ) on an htc magic. Im guessing it would have to connect thru the mini usb port. Cant seem to find my answer, I only come accross passive repeaters. Thank you
Bump. I'm interested in actually modding the phone if needed.
doubt it, magic is one of the phones that have the lowest amount of mods in the market (the tmobile mytouch variation only has 1 legitamate carrier for housings for example). plus the antenna is a sticker-- open up your backdoor, two stickers by the camera. but I suggest to get a better signal dont put your hand on the top by the camera while texting or calling, and take off any cover you may have on the back like pouches and etc...
wow, no wonder the signal it pulls is so weak
idk what you guys are talking about, the signal is great for me. My gf has the slide and i always have one signal lvl better than her. (3g>edge)
The stickers by the camera are for Bluetooth and GPS. How do I know? Cause the part number is printed on them. 'Amphenol-BT-090601' and 'Amphenol-GPS-090601'

car lighter note 2 mount/holder anyone ?

I've been searching over month for mount/holder for my galaxy note 2 , its large and need to fit perfectly without any problem
found many , but not sure witch one is stable and charge without problem
something like this
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008A309YQ/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&smid=A1VSZG5TTUI64J
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Capdase-Car...023533?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item1e73b1616d
anyone tried/have one ?
I have one that looks similar to the one in the ebay post. It works well in only one of cars due to the lighter Outlet location. I like the added usb plugs as well.

you should be careful with these and make sure that your dc socket can handle the stress of carrying the phone.

Thanks. This is not the same as the Google Guide Book. This is the LG-E960 service manual. Says it's for internal use only and contains circuit diagrams and a lot more.
Thanks again DynamicRam cool info.

Can someone go over the sections for LTE and see what kind of support is mentioned there?
VOUT_5VS_OTG pin not connected on PMU chip?

Second to that.
Manual is still downloading for me but in the interim, does anybody know if LG has an on device service/diagnostic mode similar to Samsung's *#0*# ?
are you referring to "*#*#4636#*#*" ?

What does that do? Is it safe to use?
I did a search for that code and below is a link I found.
Some of these codes can cause your phone or parts of your phone to fail to function properly use at your own risk.

Some more learnings from the manual:
If the battery is empty, USB will only perform a trickle charge. Indicated by a red notification LED.This could take a long time. The notification led is controlled by the power management chip.
The wireless charger will charge an empty battery normally.
The 3.5 mm jack can be used as a serial port. This is activated somehow with the mic connection.
The Optimus G has a cradle detector (magnet) but it is not in the N4.
Microphones are Knowles Acoustics SPU0410HR5H-PB (Knowles type no) and SUMY0010616 (probably the sub pcb part no). 31 dB noise (A-weighted), 0.15% THD, 118dB overload point
Wireless charging is limited to 789 mA. This is the total current including supply for the phone.
USB charging is limited to 900mA.`
The reset obtained by keeping the power button pressed works with a dedicated part that disconnects the battery from the phone.
Modem is connected to APQ through HSIC, not through USB,
The manual has a page called 'remove LTE'. As far s I can understand, it shows LTE bands 1, 2, 3, 5 and 8 connected from function pins to antenna circuit. But some parts are missing, maybe because UMTS and LTE bands do not exactly line up or something.
^^ The modem shows up as a USB device if you look through dmesg. It is /dev/ttyUSB0 and locked by the "ks" process. ks appears to be a Qualcomm binary firmware loader that loads the AMSS and other thing modem firmware sections. If it HSIC, I would assume the modem uses MMIO and is somewhere in /dev/mem
I posted my findings of the Optimus G vs Nexus 4 here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=35824379#post35824379
They removed LTE, but had to keep Band 4 and associated chips in order to avoid a major redesign of the PCB.
since alot of links are dead,

anyone looked into touch functions and how it work? apparently random dead spots on a spotless n4 is common and replace screen does not fix. i would think that the chip on the screen cable is responsible for digitizer and it is just one data line sent back to CPU/AP from that IC

No.
Did you buy it ?
The metal body of the One seems to make an external FM antenna mandatory.
If you're going to stick an antenna on your phone other than the headset, you might as well go the classic all metal with expandable length to get the best signal, not some little plasticky thingy.

A 3-4 foot metal rod sticking out of a pocket is un-wieldy, and could cause considerable amounts of eye, crotch and other poking, to other people at least.

Would be nice when using BT headset for FM.
Does the stock ROM even support FM over BT ? I quickly flashed CM and didn't think of testing the stock ROM for this.

TF701 & 3G dongle

Hi all,
i would like to buy a tablet + keyboard + 3g but the old generation (tf300tg/tf300tl) seems to be no more available here in Italy (i just bought it on amazon.it but it came with the French localization, "azerty" keybord).
I'm wondering if someone ever managed to run an 3g dongle (USB) on the tf7001 (usb on keybord) . This seems to be possible on the tf700 with root and a specific app but i didn't find any info about the tf701.
any suggestion?
I think this device is too new to have some experience with this.
What you could do is search in the TF700 thread what software was used to make it work and test it yourself on your own TF701 after you bought it with a dongle and report here your findings.

3G works flawlessly with my Huawei E160 Dongle and the PPPWidget App. You can get it for free in the Play Store.
Or just use a MiFi like everyone else.

Well in the UK it is but seems to have been crested by three.
Everyone I know uses them. You can connect up to 5 devises simultaneously. Battery lasts 30 days on standby, 10 hours continous use. USB dongles are dead.

Outside of battery life is there any advantage to using one of these vs just tethering on my phone?

I added another I to your link, just to check. For some reason I was sure that You were talking about making your "M"obile phone active as W"ifi" access point, but this is a little different. Is there some speed gain in this version against making your phone act like WAP ?

Oops copy and paste fail
It creates a wirless hotspot - whilst connected to 4G - so you get very fast speeds. Also you don't need any drivers or for it to physically connected.

Yeah, but that's what my HTC One also does, as long as our provider does actually deliver 4G (does not work so well). Also here no drivers needed, anyway MiFi is not exactly what I thought, but I was close.
So why the dongle?
